On May 7th, 1941, Glenn Miller and His Orchestra recorded "Chattanooga Choo Choo."
Your Pop Quiz challenge is to design a train engine. The only stipulation is that you do not use any of the ready made train images found on HeroMachine.
Other than that, let your imagination guide you. Maybe it’s an engine that would have driven Cleopatra and Mark Anthony through Ancient Alexandria, or a futuristic ultra high speed engine.
You only get one entry so be creative, and above all else, have fun!
All entries must be in JPG or PNG form (BMPs are too big), posted to a publicly accessible website (like the HeroMachine :,ImageShack, PhotoBucket, or whatever);
This contest will close at 6pm Eastern on Sunday, May 8th .

This video was submitted by Tuldabar to Jeff who then sent it to me to take a look at. I found it to be interesting and entertaining and while it focuses mostly on gaming animators the lessons within can be applied to us the HeroMachine community and our work on custom poses!

Greetings Fellow Machiner,
I am starting off a new feature for the blog called Submission Box. If you have something you'd like to share with the community be it a tutorial, a heromachine "recipe" A cool youtube video you found, a great article you found on the web you can email me and submit it for the submission box. I will take a look and if I approve I will post it on the blog. Submissions will be posted as I have time you look at them, so some days you will have 5 or 6 Submission box posts and some days you will not have any. ...
Well lets get started with our first Submission box, which is a tutorial from community member Suleman which you will find after the jump........

Ok guys, your challenge this week is to create something inhuman, so in essence a monster of some kind that is obviously not human. It can be humanoid, but can't pass it's self as human (so no vampires, zombies or werewolves), or it can be non-humanoid.
As per usual, no limits on the number of entries and the contest will close at midnight Saturday (blog time). Please read the contest rules before entering, have fun and good luck.
Rules for posts, contests, and challenges that I am hosting: Original characters only, no copyrighted characters, no characters based on copyrighted characters, no characters based on RPG’s or other games. The characters must be your own design and not based on any character that might be copyrighted in any way. I have the right to delete any post that I believe crosses this line without warnings. Only post characters that you have either created for this contest specifically or you know for certain have never been entered to a contest before. If you aren’t certain, don’t enter it, because I’m not going to go back through all of the contests and check.

I know I don't usually say anything in these anymore, but I have to acknowledge the quality of the entries for this weeks contest. There were at least 5 that could have won the contest and a couple more that could have been honourable mentions. However, there can only be one winner. So here are the four others that could have won (to save space I'll put links to their entries in each persons name).
Honourable Mentions: Brons, Superfly30, Candruth, djuby
Winner: Cliff- Puck

I couple years ago the Fine Brother which are on youtube did a video Youtuber's react to Babymetal. That video is how I discovered Baymetal and began my fandom of the group. Well Recently the Fine Brothers have Babymetal in their studio and had them react to that video, the result is this:

So, in case anyone didn't know, Linea's back in action after a few months absence and it seems to have done her some good. The picture I'm featuring this week is a remake of a picture from a few years ago and if you compare the two on her thread you can see the improvement. But taking it as it's own picture, rather than a remake, there is still a lot to commend. The costume (love the colours, the purple is very delicate and it really sets off the vibrant blue), the item usage (see the cape used as a dress so it matches the pose), the expression and the wings (very subtle, almost fading away into the background, which really fits the fairy idea, especially with insectoid wings which are usually semi transparent).
