WMDBASSPLAYERParticipantThanks Weilyn, for this idea. And on that note, how the hell do you group shots??? Burn Unit and Hothead: Sibling Rivalry.
WMDBASSPLAYERParticipantAfter seeing someone’s characters, the Booster Babes, (I have to search through the Art Gallery to find the artist so I can give them the proper respect and credit for inspiring me), I decided to take another stab at Fly Girl. A WWII Army brat, I sort of aged her and put her in a futuristic setting. Here is a view of her with the jetpack off. I’m gonna try a flying pose again later and with what I’ve been learning, hopefully I can make it more believable.
WMDBASSPLAYERParticipantWOW! Face Eater is scary! Love the Atlantean Warrior!
WMDBASSPLAYERParticipantGreat idea with Pride. Very mature theme, even for conventional comics. Top notch art work, as always. Nike, (Winged Victory?), is beautiful! The Fairy Tale Fighters rock! I dig Thumbelina. I was seriously thinking of naming my character Amy Atom that.
WMDBASSPLAYERParticipantGood start; welcome to Hero Machine!
WMDBASSPLAYERParticipantDamn, that’s you running out of ideas???!!!
WMDBASSPLAYERParticipantOK, I’m getting pretty ambitious here! Experimenting with an angled body and recreating from looking at the original image, (I have no choice; I didn’t save the text and lost the save when I reset my history). I’ll take all the advice I can get here on this. Especially on how to bring depth to an angled bustline. Moonstar W.I.P.
WMDBASSPLAYERParticipantThanks, prs and Weilyn. I find highlighting in itself is not too difficult. It’s using it tastefully that I need to practice. To gain a more artistic eye with relation to imagining where the light would be coming from, angle it hits the body, where would be shadows as opposed to reflections, etc.
WMDBASSPLAYERParticipantGreat work man! Love the Bouncers, Inc. concept & characters.
WMDBASSPLAYERParticipantWhat started out as a bit of highlighting practice turned into a new character, master burglar/supervillain One Armed Bandit. Sorta, kinda inspired by the kung fu movies The Crippled Masters and The Chinese Professionals. Both featured a badass beating the crap out of everybody, the first with no arms, the second with one arm. So I thought how badass would a guy be with one arm kicking ass and pulling big robberies. No backstory; kinda tapped out at the moment. Advice and opinions always welcome.
WMDBASSPLAYERParticipantBTW, those two dwarves look scary as hell. Makes me think if I met them I’d wake up in a forced labor camp in Siberia, or in a bathtub full of ice, missing an internal organ! (Just kidding. great work!)
WMDBASSPLAYERParticipantWeilyn, first my condolences regarding your grandfather. I was browsing through your thread and all I can say is WOW! Too much great stuff for me to point any one thing, but the stuff by your little brother looks like it was fun. Keep it coming!
WMDBASSPLAYERParticipantSHANGO THE THUNDERER! Shango is the Yoruba God of fire, thunder and lightning. Also known as The Hurler of Stones and The Bringer of Storms. He brings the thunder and lightning by hurling stones upon the ground and where the lightning strikes, stones with the shape of Shango’s double headed axe are said to be left behind. Shango is depicted carrying his double headed axe and sometimes also with a thunder rod. His colors are red and white. Many European gods are said to be variations of African gods.
WMDBASSPLAYERParticipantThanks, Weilyn and PRS. You guys are both very encouraging. I’ll remember to include eyebrows. And I need to practice more with highlighting.
WMDBASSPLAYERParticipantDamn! That’s good!
