WMDBASSPLAYERParticipantOften called “The Werewolf by Day,” Laika is not a true werewolf, but the result of genetic manipulation. Also a tracker like Tigre, she is better suited in urban situations and is more in control of her animal nature. Laika is also the youngest of the Beasts of Burden.
WMDBASSPLAYERParticipantGreat stuff, as usual. I really dig that Demon Prince and Sam!
WMDBASSPLAYERParticipantReally cool work. Sapphire and Rose are my favos and Madame Malevolence is nice, too!
WMDBASSPLAYERParticipantAlso, Tigre is the most in tune with her wild nature and the most indulgent of it. She occasionally retreats into forests to hunt deer and satisfy her instinct for fresh killed meat and maintain her natural stalking skills.
WMDBASSPLAYERParticipantUnlike the other members of the Beasts of Burden, who are mostly humans transformed through genetic manipulations, (execpt Ursus Major, who is a were-bear, Dragonlady, who is an alien and Madame Bovine who is a human female under a curse), The Pride are three hyper-evolved felines. Leon is the leader, Cheetah is a super speedster and Tigre is a tracker/assassin. Each has the heightened senses of sight, hearing and smell of normal felines, as well as the agility, but because they have been evolved to have human sentience, their abilities have increased greatly beyond that of any normal feline. All three have super strength in the 2 -5 ton Level range. Though very human in mind, they still retain many of the traits of their wild counterparts, hence Leon is the most social of the three; Cheetah, like his wild cousins, lacks retractable claws, and Tigre is more comfortable on solitary missions.
WMDBASSPLAYERParticipantAmazing characters! It’s freaky how much my hero character Black Hole follows the art concept of your Overseer. I swear I made her before I saw your work. Even the highlight for the eyes in your original design! The two Heavenwings are awesome, as well as the cloud city!
WMDBASSPLAYERParticipantScary forest scene.
WMDBASSPLAYERParticipantLove the concept and the art for the Manokindd! Alyria sounds like a living “Portrait of Dorian Grey.” Could that have been an inspiration?
WMDBASSPLAYERParticipantI’ll get the hang of shading eventually. In the meantime….
WMDBASSPLAYERParticipantSeeing this thread for the first time and I’m really digging your characters. Gotta ask; was Voodoo Lady inspired by the video game character Shadowman?
WMDBASSPLAYERParticipantOK, here we go. Here’s a rough draft of how Miss X ends up in Hong Kong. “God, I hate Hong Kong,” Miss X thought to herself. “Like 100 people jammed into a small-ass Lower East Side studio apartment, hopped up on cheap booze and cheap designer drugs and calling it a party. But I still love the mainland.” Unfortunately, she had no time to dwell on her love for China, not while going over the files her CIA friend copied for, (forwarded to?) her. “Cyborgs, invasion fleets, mass murder, spontaneous transformations and outbreaks of meta-human abilities? What the fuck is going on here?” “I wonder if this Ascension has anything to do with the weirdness the Organisation was up to before I quit? They were really pushing those enhancements on me hard; maybe they wanted me to be a guinea pig? ” It was at this time that the young Shaolin monk accompanying her informed Miss X that they were approximately 10 kilometers from the boarder of Yau Tsim. She was advised it may be easier to slip into Wan Chai from here than by way of Kowloon, as reports of increased Ascension activity there were being intercepted. “You carry that big samurai sword and lethal firearms, but you will always be Shaolin to us, Sister.” “Thank you, Brother Quan. I owe the monks a great debt.” my brain is tired right now. busy researching the geography of HK to make Miss X’s covert trip more believable. Any feedback on this little bit will be greatly appreciated. I know it’s not much, but I was doing a lot of reading to catch up. You guys have done a helluva job so far!
WMDBASSPLAYERParticipantNice work! I really like your use of colors in the sci-fi picture and I really like your Fire Woman. I like the background and you’ve given me some ideas if I decide to redo my fire characters, Hothead and Burn Unit.
WMDBASSPLAYERParticipantESCAPE!
WMDBASSPLAYERParticipantDamn, I wish I was on this from day one! There is a s***load of info to keep track of. Regarding the ships, (and again, sorry if it was already covered), I like Iscarioto’s ship and the idea of the “steel sky.” His design looks more like multiples could fit together to form that canopy. JR’s ship looks more mothership to me. A humongous thing that in a movie would take 5 minutes to move across the screen, lol! That’s an exaggeration of course, but think of the star destroyer’s first appearance in Star Wars. That’s how I see JR’s ship. You see a few of Isacrioto’s ships and you think, “Damn, we’re screwed!” THEN you see JR’s mothership blocking out half the sky!
WMDBASSPLAYERParticipantI’ve made several versions of this character, and prswirve made a kick ass version in a very cool pose. Trying to work in what I’ve been learning here from looking at the works of others and practicing, so here is my latest version of Dark Cherub. I put her in this thread which for all my hero characters only. I’ve always imagined her as a bit of an anti-hero from her first inception as a Create-A-Soul fighter I made in Soul Calibur 4.
