WMDBASSPLAYERParticipantGreat concepts! I tried to copy your Lady Liberty’s pose with my character Arclight. My skills are nowhere near yours, but I like trying action scenes. Thanks for the inspiration. BTW, I have a Liberty also, but she is pretty much a living statue, inspired by the Statue of Liberty .
WMDBASSPLAYERParticipantBTW, went back to page one and re-read everything. Forgot you mentioned about the comic code bullet and barcode being photoshopped.
WMDBASSPLAYERParticipantGreat! Here’s a bit of Starchild’s story to give you a feel of the character. Stupid me didn’t save any text code, so I’m not too opposed to a reinterpretation of his look. Only one thing, glowing yellow eyes is part of who he is. I played around with the look several times myself and even aged him. I’m giving you the younger version.DAMN, SHE’S STRONG!” As he sat recovering, Starchild thought to himself, “No one’s EVER managed to knock me out, let alone give me a shiner, and this woman has done BOTH in less than 5 minutes! And that damn robot of her’s is no Tinker Toy, either! If she wasn’t a villain, I’d be in love!” But she is a villain, and a rather powerful one, as Starchild painfully came to realize. No time for such thoughts. “I may down bitch, BUT I’M NEVER OUT! I. AM. STARCHILD!!!!!”
WMDBASSPLAYERParticipantAre you familiar with the game Space Channel 5? This character reminds me of the head villain in Space Channel Pt.2.
WMDBASSPLAYERParticipantScatman, I’m looking through your thread and I’m just totally blown away by EVERYTHING! Lady Justice is AWESOME! I must try and copy that pose! Crimson Nova! WOW! The gangster cat! EVERYTHING! YOU ROCK!
WMDBASSPLAYERParticipantEventually I want to tie most, if not all of my characters into one cohesive universe. I see them that way in my head but haven’t brought that out to make it obvious they’re all sharing the same world. Arclight can survive in space and may be made a part of the Cosmic Protectorate.
WMDBASSPLAYERParticipantI really admire your covers! The stuff I’ve been trying lately is nowhere near your level, but I appreciate any advice. You mentioned the barcodes are Photoshopped. I assume the comics code box is also? It’s a lot to ask, but after seeing your take on prs’s Lee Jensen, I would really love to see what you do with one of my characters.
WMDBASSPLAYERParticipantThanks, Epic. I have no real full story for her. I did have an origin of sorts but when I remade her I aged her and haven’t come up with an explanation as to why she’s so much older.
WMDBASSPLAYERParticipantI’m way behind! Just taking my first look at this thread so I’m going back. Here’s my take on Zydeco. My next one will be more current.
WMDBASSPLAYERParticipantAMAZING WORK! Whirlwind is fantastic, but Nimu just kills it! Again, just amazing! Advent is hot, too! I love that face.
WMDBASSPLAYERParticipantThanks, RobM. I was really ticking myself off trying to get the barcode right. Thank you too, Kaldath. Here’s my third effort, done before I saw these latest comments. As you can see I did try a little shading under her right arm and next to her breast, as well as some highlight on the kneepads. I might redo this one later after more practice. I must say, I really like the font I used for her name in the second cover. I’ll definitely use that one again.
WMDBASSPLAYERParticipantGreat poses! The twins are sick!
WMDBASSPLAYERParticipantI’m eager to read what you do with Harlekin’s picture, too. GREAT story for prs’s! When I saw the picture it reminded me of the scene in Frankenstein when the Monster meets the little girl, and Atomic, you managed to capture the flavor in a way that was inspired but not derivative. I really dig headless and trekkie’s pics and can’t wait to read their stories as well. Anyway, here’s another from me. This is an early HM2.5 I did when I first discovered Hero Machine. I also included the HM3 redoing. Whichever you choose.
WMDBASSPLAYERParticipantThanks, guys. I love and respect all of your work very much. Harly, I really appreciate that full critiquing. In the first cover I purposely wanted the eyebeams going off the page. I’ve played with the costume some and the second cover was me experimenting with a different look. I intend on keeping her color scheme, but I will consider what you said about the font colors. Could somebody tell me if and where I can find a tutorial on zypping. I see the term a lot but don’t remember seeing any how to’s. HerrD, thanks for the tip because I was wondering were RobM got the barcodes from. I thought he might have clipped them from actual comics.
