WMDBASSPLAYERParticipantI was looking for this! I could have used it a few days ago, because I couldn’t get the proportions right for a character I’m working on. As I look at this though, I’m thinking I may have to reclassify this character. I called her a dwarf, (I originally made her in 2.5 with the female dwarf template), but as I redo her in HM3, I guess she is more midget. What do you guys think? She’s in an action pose because I was working on something else before I found this tutorial. I think a midget is a proportionately correct little person, (though they find the term midget offensive). Anyway, I’m going to try another redux using Weilyn’s proportions.
WMDBASSPLAYERParticipantI wanted to share this pose but I seem to be doing something wrong every time I try to save text. Also, is there a glitch in the program preventing masking on this particular right hand, or am I doing something wrong? All my other masking took with no problem.
WMDBASSPLAYERParticipantThat was really cool, Atomic. Here’s a throw away character I put together for some highlight/shading practice. Have at it, Good Sir!
WMDBASSPLAYERParticipantAmy Atom gets a title! I should have made this wider because I was going for a wrap-around cover. The fonts and page layout were done on Comic Life.
WMDBASSPLAYERParticipantThanks, Atomic. As long as you got stories, I’ll try to keep up with the pictures. Great practice for me anyway. I’m about to go to work, but first I have an Amy Atom cover to post in my Spectacular Comics thread. Did you see the latest One Armed Bandit in My new Creations? This is gonna be really cool, as long as I keep translating what’s in my head into images.
WMDBASSPLAYERParticipantI’M NOT WORTHY!!!! AMAZING! AMS, I really dig both versions of Valor, but the Black Valor’s costume is killer! Beltane is beautiful. The shading and highlights on the first Valor just blew me away!
WMDBASSPLAYERParticipantSomebody really got to Amy Atom’s bad side! Overall I’m really satisfied with these redesigns of Amy, but I’m still not getting the proportions right to get the idea across that she is a dwarf. I originally made her on HM2.5 with a female dwarf template.
WMDBASSPLAYERParticipantThanks Jackal. You’ve got some cool characters, too. If you ever come up with a character but are stuck for a name, let me have a look.
WMDBASSPLAYERParticipantA hero never thinks of himself first!
WMDBASSPLAYERParticipantStill adjusting to life on Earth Prime, Miracle Man is always going to be the hero. He hasn’t met any of this Earth’s heros yet, but here, he is about to have his first meeting with Starchild’s arch enemy, Sunburn.
WMDBASSPLAYERParticipantThat was really, really cool, Atomic! I won’t put it here until if & when you decide you want to try it, but go to “My new Creations” thread and look at the latest One Armed Bandit. As I said, I’m working on some urban scenes with him and Amy for your possible story. Let me know what you think.
WMDBASSPLAYERParticipantCool concepts, but I have to agree with Livewyre, (two men’s opinions?); the cape is too much with the flag motif. Personally, I would lose the cape and add more color. Even with the Union Jack red included, he’s still dominated by the blue. Add some color to the wrist bands and maybe the boots, too. Kangaroo is very unique and the explanation for the boxing gloves made sense, but it still looks impractical, because I noticed the two holsters strapped to his legs. I’m sure it would involve a bit of masking and creative use of parts, but how about trying to make a pair of kenpo gloves; still padded but fingers are free to grab a gun when needed. With the right coloring the hands you used for Spitfire could look like padded gloves. Try those. London Fog is really cool, solid look and concept. Reminds me of the Golden Age Sandman crossed with Watchmen’s Rorschach. Welcome, and great start.
WMDBASSPLAYERParticipantHere’s my latest One Armed Bandit. I call this “Heist”!
WMDBASSPLAYERParticipantWhen I did the self portrait I saved it and posted before I added my jewelry. Details, details! I might go back again and try the shading and highlighting; I’m still really hit or miss with that.
WMDBASSPLAYERParticipantAs to Calamity Jane’s hand position holding the gun…
