That is, without a doubt, one of the most striking valkyries I’ve ever seen.

    Awesome work!

Whether you want you want to keep the piece in your thread or not is completely up to you. I would never demand you to take an artwork down, no matter what it portrayed. I really did see what you were going for with it, and appreciate you raising awareness of an horrific incident.
The Nanjing Massacre strikes particularly close to home for me, is all, due to having relatives from the city and surrounding area.
Thank you for understanding. I hope my comment didn’t offend you, and remain a great admirer of your work.

Very good representation in my opinion. Louhi is a rather fachinating character.

Thank you! Coming from a genuine Finn that means a lot Wink

I really love the burned/irritated skin on this one.

Thank you! It was a simple effect, but it turned out better than I imagined.

I’m gonna go with one of the first characters I posted here, and the one I chose for my avatar, simply because I would love to see your take on her.

    Una Windjac
Una is a 23 years old student of bureaucracy at the State University of Sandukar. After getting disowned by her wealthy parents at age 19 – when it was revealed that she had been growing illegal tobacco in their greenhouse – she started making a living by blackmailing her teachers, professors and school administrators. She is a master of manipulation and deduction; keeping a secret from her is virtually impossible, and once she finds out she will bleed her victim dry to pay for her extravagant lifestyle.
Business is good for Una at the moment. There is no shortage of men with dark secrets in the high society of Sandukar, and it is rarely hard for a beutiful young woman to get close to them. But very soon she will find that she has bitten off more than she can chew, and a failed extortion will make her some powerful enemies both from a terrorist resistance group and, even worse, from within the Bureaucracy itself.

    Thanks, Trekkie!

Continuing the Finnish theme, here’s Louhi, queen of the frozen land of Pohjola.

    Thank you!

I’m not having that problem, but I’ve noticed that darker images can appear very differently depending on the screen one’s using. So thanks for telling me.

    Here’s a slightly brighter version:

    Thank you very much!
I’ve actually found steampunk to be way easier to use than I thought. I just throw a bunch of techy, clockworky, leathery stuff together and hope for the best, and usually it works fine.

Yeah, we do. I’m not that good with Finnish mythology either, to tell you the truth, but Näkki (Näck with Finnish spelling) I do know about.

Well, I feel I have neglected Finnish mythology here. Here’s a massive sea monster to make up for that.

    Iku-Turso
This beast, thought to have been the last remaining specimen of its species, could be spotted in the Gulf of Bothnia off the Finnish coast until the early 18th century, when it died and washed ashore near the city of Oulu. While it wasn’t nearly as hostile as the sailors of the Baltic sea used to claim, it did destroy at least four Swedish, six Finnish and two Polish vessels, presumably out of pure curiosity. Large portions of the creature’s skeleton have now been lost, but most of what remains is kept at the Finnish Museum of Natural History and the National Museum of Finland, both in Helsinki.
