The Atomic PunkParticipantArchangel’s Prowler
The Atomic PunkParticipantFinally made it through the retrospect of contest and challenge entries. I haven’t participated in the last few because of my schedule (and binging). So, on to the little side items.
For the Pop Quiz, Jeff would select one item and you had to incorporate it as the focus of your character or design. One entry was a belt buckle. Coincidentally, I was testing some VisualBasic code. This design is 100% HeroMachine. However, it is the result of a series of pass-through queries and calculations with a few touch-ups.

The Atomic PunkParticipantLove the Archer pose and her expression. Intense yet elegant.

Original Character Design by Gargantua, Story by The Atomic PunkDia duit ar maidin… good morning. They say that you are most certainly not from County Clare. That you traveled far to walk the Cliffs of Moher. Such a beautiful place, it is.
I know why you are in my presence, outsider. The path that you chose led you to me. Behold the wealth, power, and beauty for which you pined. Your dreams made real. Your fantasies fulfilled.
Coming to the Cliffs of Moher was the only effort you put to obtaining this prize. You thought that there was an easy way. So you took a leap of faith rather than the long walk along the western seaboard.
Lazy little man, know now that this is delusion. I am apparition. That this is your last wish. The cruelty that you inflicted on yourself is near its end.
OÃche mhaith, codladh sámh… good night, sleep well.

Great story, Atomic Punk! And what makes it even better is that Diana was a portrait I did for a friend who really does play drums in a rock band and had a falling out with a band member. How about another one, or is it one to a customer?Glad you liked it, WMD. No limits to requests. I have been extremely busy these past couple of weeks. Hence the slow pace.

The Jade and her archenemy Totenkopf. This is an early version of The Jade from my Champions days. Champions is why I sought a program like HeroMachine in the first place.
She has gone through several re-writes. Originally, she was simply powersuit with no explanation as to how she acquired such advanced technology. As she developed, she became a middle-age angel of justice. The Jade is one of my most ambitious creations and core to my meta-verse.
Totenkopf is still evolving. I had created him as a sort of “Red Skull with wings”. Then he morphed into the flight suit of a mercenary clan in my mecha-verse. As the time of this post, his role is still undecided. Whether he remains as The Jade’s archenemy has yet to be decided.

You know what, Nick? I quit. I’m so tired of your bull-[censored]. We’re going nowhere. These weeknight gigs in local bars suck. How many people showed up last night? Five… maybe ten? I’m putting in almost as many hours practicing and playing as I am at my day job. Not to mention only getting five hours of sleep before I have to show up there.
So, I’ve made a choice. I’m tired of making sandwiches at the deli for nine hours then hustling over to Tony’s for three-hour jams and practicing Sheep for the Slaughter covers. Just sick of it. Instead of fixing my car, I bought these drums. For what? So I can haul them around in your mom’s van?!? By the way, yes, I did fill it up before I returned it.
When’s the last time that you paid for gas? Or your half of the rent? When’s the last time you booked us a real gig? When’s the last time you wrote a song? Dude, seriously, when’s the last time you applied for a real job?
Nick, it’s time. I have some original material. Tony and Hector are on board. Our first show is Sludgefest at Dabrowski Hall. We’re going to be playing on the same stage as the real Sheep for the Slaughter.
Nick, I’m not quitting the band. I’m quitting you.
The Atomic PunkParticipantI like Dragon-Fire. Have to ask, though. Is her dragon entirely HM?
The Atomic PunkParticipantYeah! A delicious meal and a happy ending!

Belles Fleurs was a major city in my GURPS Supers and Space campaigns. Think if Montréal and New Orléans had a baby who grew up to marry Hollywood and they moved to Miami. In the Supers, it was ran by the LaMontagne crime family. The city’s legacy anti-hero was Tenebre.
LaMontagne family is a theatrical gang, donning the city’s colors of blue and yellow. They are organized like the mafia with soldiers and captains (“capas”). Tenebre’s origins are a mystery. Rumor has it is that he is Papa Louis’ son who was thought to have been murdered. That the son is not so much trying to take down LaMontagne; rather, take his place.

The Atomic PunkParticipantQuoi?
The Atomic PunkParticipantI still have all the Chibis. Just no graphics software to make a spiffy poster. And I have a third PC that has a lot of my other stuff hanging in limbo…
The Atomic PunkParticipantHappen
The Atomic PunkParticipantGood stuff but I can’t help but hear Erasure’s “Wild” when I see the characters and read your concepts for W.I.L.D.
The Atomic PunkParticipantWillkommen, MithrilFrog! One “trick” is to appreciate your own designs. There are HeroMachiners that are amazing at shades and highlights (referred to as “zypping” after the master). I am no good at it as much as I try. That being said, again, don’t beat yourself up. There is a lot of inspiration around here. The point is to have fun and share. You’re off to a good start. Keep at it and keep practicing your zyp technique.
