Thanks, WMD. The Pegasus looks as if he is on an approach-vector. Made me think of my own dreams, which almost always end with me falling or coming down to earth.

DC-Lover, I have Chapter 2 for Tank in the works. Shooting Star will be next, though.

JR19759, great collaboration with Harlekin. Since you already have a background for them, I will try something a little different. If you would, please PM me the tone of their story in ONE WORD (love, happiness, sadness, confusion, humorous…). Don’t limit yourself to just emotions (purple, cheeseburger, hurricane, stucco…). Just ONE WORD to point their direction. Cheers!

Again, thanks to everyone for the feedback and interest in this forum. It’s helping me overcome creator’s bloc.

Speaking of which… I always thought that Yuri was a former Premier of the Soviet Union. Wink

Thanks to Harlekin’s exquisite treatment of my characters, I’m revisiting my unfinished saga: “The Three Sisters.” Trying to decide whether to post in this forum, start a new forum, or post in WordPress. It is not “yuri.” However, it has moments that might be above a PG-13 rating.

Dreams, the nightly festivals of hope and freedom. All is right in the netherworld. Thoughts manifest themselves, avatars of wishes and plans. Frugal Squirrel, planning and saving, yet he is quick to panic. A reminder to be wary but not overreact to the slightest change.

Blind Bat, hunting and navigating by echo. Always speak with purpose. You do not have to see to believe. Take a moment to listen to yourself. Joyful rabbit, idling and playing. No need to waste your time worrying. Be wary, though. Look to the corner of your eye now and then.

Lumbering Bear, growling and roaring. You do not have to resort to violence to protect what is yours. Often, proclaiming intention and resolve are deterrent enough.

Fanciful Fawn, an expression of oneself. Whether being true or how one wishes to be perceived. How one feels on the inside or shows to the outside. The want to be at peace in the woodland dreamscape or accepted in the waking world.

The night is coming to an end. In a strange twist, it is the sylvan creatures’ turn to sleep. As I descend to the earth, I can feel the feathers shedding. Clouds give way. Sunrise clears the forest.

Melancholy weighs heavy on my heart. Already, I miss soaring through the twilight. To see it all with such clarity; to be untouchable. I rise to carry hope and freedom into a new day. Even an old horse can dream.

    DJuby’s Pop Quiz #3: Isn’t it ironic!

Use dramatic irony. This is when the audience knows something that the character does not. Usually, with immediate and dire consequences for the character.

    My Wife’s Out of Town

“Excuse me, Miss… but I’m looking for a date.”

“Sure, sweetie, what do you have in mind?”

“Ummm… your voice sounds deep. Are you really a man?!?”

“Oh no, sugar, I’m no man.”

“Oh, good. My wife’s out of town and I’ve never done anything like this before…”

As puppets, we are. I guarded against every villain. I used to arrest them and bring them before a court. How, naïve I was. Thinking that trials would end in justice. I am simpler now; I know who pulls my strings. Take my hand, and I will lead you to a truth. That we are all puppets. And curtains fall.

I stand before you as Lady Protector of Bretagne. The strength of her spirit. The passion of her people. The richest in heart. The least in malice.

Before you, I stand as the embodiment of the monoliths, the enduring temples. The countless seasons of wonder. The stones grace these hills. As I grace your presence.

Know that I am here. Know that you are safe in this shrine. Feel my ambivalence and the goodwill of all Bretagne. Bless’ed be.

So far… hmmm… Aliens have landed. Their massive ships double as heavily-guarded factories. The military has gathered intelligence on how to defeat them. The mission is to infiltrate the bases. Inside, characters will find various clues as to the aliens’ plans. How the players interpret these clues will affect their course of action.

Players start with a base power suit that the good guys have captured. At the end of each level, they will find new technologies that they can turn against the aliens (lasers, bombs, etc). One prized device is a special helmet or pair of goggles that allow players to see the rumored “phantoms.” These are cloaked aliens and monsters. Without them, players are vulnerable to sudden, vicious attacks. Not enough to outright kill the players. Just enough to slow them down and torque them off.

    1. The opening sequence with the infiltration of the enemy base. Nice pose, by the way.

    2. An overview of your power suit. The “tech specs” screen where you assemble your gear and weapons.

    3. The fall of a hero – game over.

    4. Mission commanders. They explain your objectives. The segues between levels.

    5. Boss level (obviously).

No problem at all. The only thing that’s keeping me down right now is my laptop. It up and quits randomly. My new one won’t be in for a few more weeks. I should’ve just bought a tablet…

I’ll get to both this weekend. With Maidenhead, more concerned about repeating your story. I take snippets and references from all over the place. It’s part of my method. Speaking of which… I have King Harvest stuck in my head now… Cool

Thanks, WMD. I have a story “cloud” putting the One-Armed Bandit up against Amy Atom. The working title is: “Only in New York, Baby!”

I did read your bio for Maidenhead awhile back. Which, admittedly, taints my initial ideas. However, full retcon it is!
