Atomic. Ya went an interesting direction with the Kingsmen and the Volunteer. They were actaully two seperate characters done at different periods as an artist on this site. So making it an Irish Spy playing an actor playing a british serial character is intriguing.
At least thats what I got from it. They were original concepts for a bunch of characters set before the 1930s making them expeirence all the change in Europe and America during and after WW1. Hence the simplicity of their designs and outfits. But I will say I enjoy it and look forward to Tank chapter 2.Your are correct. I figured that the two were from different times. Perhaps the son carrying on the family tradition. My twist being he plays a superhero on screen when in real-life he fights bad people. With their “plain” outfits, they did strike me as circa 1920s or 1930s. And I love the old-time matinees and cliffhangers! Glad you liked my interpetation.

Hard to say if they used word “demon” literally. Demon is a ancient greek and ancient latin word. In latin it mean “supernatural force”. I dont know if Slavs borrowed it from Romans or it was use only by researchers years later. Christiand give word negative meaning. Point is that Slavs treated at the same level all supernatural creature.
Demons was material or ethereal. Some demons was people who died in tragic way, some was personification of force of nature or personification of evil forces. They look like old creepy humans or human-animal hybrids. Some of them survived in fables for ex. baba yaga, werewolfs, gnomes. Slavs have plenty of demons:
One important thing to take into consideration is that Slavs was realy huge group and lived in vast areas so there are differences between regions’s stories. If you read novel “Witcher” (or play game) or other so call east europe fantasy you may meet some of them.
By curiosity, can you reveal what story you working on?
Excellent resources. DziÄ™kujemy! The story (so far) is about a cryptozoologist travelling central Europe. The guy is a con artist. People pay him to prove the existence of faeries and goblins. He takes their money and offers phone evidence so people will continue to employ him. He doesn’t believe in any of it. That is until one night…
The Atomic PunkParticipantWith open mask. He’s more diabolical with the sharp teeth and murderous smile.
The Atomic PunkParticipantI have never heard of such a creature! Interesting to know that Slavs use the word “demon” generically. That helps with a story that I’m developing.
The Atomic PunkParticipantYes! That’s what I’m talking about!
The Atomic PunkParticipantSicarius is wicked cool. Excellent!
The Atomic PunkParticipantThat belongs on a t-shirt!
The Atomic PunkParticipant@Alexander: Nice to know that we have different interpretations of your characters. It just popped.
@Linea: Your characters and designs are adventurous and thoughtful. I am trying not to repeat the royalty or clan vibe. But these are daughters of destiny. It would have been, dare I say, ordinary for Harriette to stand guard over the ruins, or watch for an evil. Instead, she finds herself under the twilight with mud between her toes and eyes returning to her star.

I love Bugeater, but any hero from Nebraska would have red in his/her costume.Okay – here’s a red version just for you. What do you think – does it work?
Perfect. As for Connecticut, what about “A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Court?” Vermont has the “Green Mountain Boys” from the American Revolution.
The Atomic PunkParticipantHARRIETTE OVERLOOKING AUORME
Original Design by Linea24; Story by The Atomic PunkFor generations, fathers have told the legends of Auorme, the great capital of Antiquity. Mother died before she could bear a son. So ashamed was Father not having a male heir, he refused to pass the knowledge to his only daughter. Grandfather was the one who sat me on his knee. I would tug his beard while he described a once mighty city.
Grandfather lectured the ideals and pride of the nation. He attested to the character and virtue of the people. Almost as if he had lived there. So rich was the tapestry that he wove, I could see myself in the picture. Walking the streets. Listening to the bustle of the marketplace. Caressing the bolts of silk. Tasting the exotic fruits. Smelling the flowers in the city garden.
Father forbade Grandfather from telling me more. Grandfather did say that every 202 years, the Moon and Our Visitor align so that the Sea of Memory recedes. During those eight days, one can find Auorme but must be quick. Lest the Sea return to swallow the curious.
During my self-imposed exile, I have learned more about the glory of Auorme. Antia, Our Visitor, has not always been among us. The Arrival threw our world Felinae into chaos and darkness. Antia’s unannounced presence caused the oceans to rise and mountains to break. Still, we endure.
I know nothing of the sky before the Arrival. To me, it must have been a lonely time. The Moon is pale and sickly. More than likely, it is dead. I can see that Antia is lush and green with my naked eye. Our Visitor’s waters glisten.
Before I leave the past beneath the waves, my thoughts drift into the night. Did the people of Antia also survive the catastrophe? Are they in diaspora? Do they look to the sky then wonder about their future?
Auorme itself is nothing more than stones and coral. Grandfather will always remember the city as it might have been. This journey has given me insight and hope. Something Father tried to deny me.

Very cool. I like him.
I sense a bias here.
Wilkommen, Ubiquitous Pixel! Nice start. I like the stripes on the purple costume. They break the monotony without necessarily drawing attention to themselves.
