SulemanParticipantHere is Stocky Businessman With An Emo Haircut, original character do not steal.
Honestly, this started out as just an attempt at making a design with a stocky bodytype. It went to a weird place. I don’t think the attempt was terribly succesful. I tried getting his belly across with shading, but it didn’t quite work. It would have been easier if he was facing directly forward.
SulemanParticipantIncredible perspective work! This is really stretching the capabilities of Heromachine.
SulemanParticipantThis is just an attempt at making a character wag their finger.
SulemanParticipantThanks, DiCatriz and Trekkie!
Warhammer 40k character designs are notorious for being full of details and over-the-top. I couldn’t bring myself to add quite as much nonsense as some WH40k designs have, though I tried.
For example, a character from the Rogue Trader sourcebook:
SulemanParticipantIt has happened to me as well. I believe the mods are aware of the problem. Unfortunately, I don’t remember what the fix is.
SulemanParticipantSince my newest design, Petrus Holt is physically identical to his brother Nicodemus, I could use my earlier design as a base.
After a shave and a haircut and a diet, I started working on Petrus’s outfit. I borrowed boots from this nice pirate lady.
Once the aspects started coming together, I color-coded the parts so I could easily see which parts belonged together.
My first attempt at coloring him didn’t work so well. A bright purple like this is not a Warhammer 40k color at all. I also gave him armored trousers to show he’s wearing armor underneath all this high fashion.
After I felt I had a good color scheme, I started working on the shading and making some last-minute tweaks (like his nose).
More shading…
And the final version, with an added collar, power cord for his hellpistol, and a tweaked color scheme for the boots and the armor.
I think it turned out pretty good. I’d still like to see how your works progress from start to finish.
SulemanParticipantThe team pictures are just wonderful. Great work, and a ton of variety. Great use of color, body types and different styles.
SulemanParticipantMan, I would kill to get to work on Farscape in any form.
I tweaked the design a little more since I wasn’t satisfied with the initial look. Had to darken the tones a little bit to match the WH40k aesthetic, among other things.
In addition, here are the brothers side by side for comparison.
SulemanParticipant
So this is Nicodemus Holt’s brother, Petrus. He’s dead now, but when he was alive, he let nothing and no one stand between him and his ambitions. A real piece of work.He was the seneschal of the spaceship Impostor.
SulemanParticipantDamn, that’s a fine sword. The rainbow effects must have taken some effort.
SulemanParticipantJust a quick sketch of what Nicodemus Holt’s bolt pistols might look like.
SulemanParticipantI really appreciate how your superhero designs aren’t overly complicated, but they’re memorable even at a glance. No unnecessary lines or pouches or anything. Keep it up!
SulemanParticipantEh, I prefer the new colors. Black has been done to death, a desert orange is more interesting to me.
SulemanParticipantIf I had any interest in that, maybe I would. Thanks, anyway!
SulemanParticipantMy wrists are still not at full health, but I managed to make this, little by little.
This guy is Nicodemus Holt, my character in a game of Warhammer 40 000: Rogue Trader. He is the group’s Arch-Militant (soldier guy), and formerly the bodyguard and body double of his half-brother, the former Seneschal of their ship. Now that his brother got himself killed by the Imperial Inquisition, Nicodemus is finally free from his brother’s shadow and is free to pursue his own ambitions.
