SulemanParticipantThis is agent Magpie, one of the rebel leaders working against the rule of the evil Empress and her lady knights.
Due to what was probably a failed hanging, Magpie’s throat was badly injured and left her voice a croaking rasp. She doesn’t talk much, but she does organize sabotage, assassinations and just generally the kind of necessary dirty work that most rebels don’t want to think about. She runs a tight ship, though, and does not tolerate needless thuggery.
SulemanParticipantIt took me quite a while, but here’s my take on your Anchor character. I wasn’t sure what kind of superpowers he has, if any, but I guessed he might be a heavy, strong kind of fellow.
I’m still not quite satisfied with it, but I cannot tweak it forever. The pose was really difficult and I couldn’t quite capture the sleazy quality of his face. Still, I hope you like it!
SulemanParticipantNeat! Great work with the effect, the brightness of the lightning really sells it. The helmet is a different take on the concept, but it works.
I’ll work on my part of the trade once I’ve got my schoolwork out of the way.
SulemanParticipantGlad you like it! @suleman – haven’t forgotten about you bud. When I get some free time I’ll work on Hoverhands.
Alright. I’ll try and whip something for you as well, probably next week. Still wondering if you had preferences on which design I should tackle.
SulemanParticipantThe images aren’t showing at all for some reason.
SulemanParticipantIf you’re up for another art trade, I could also do one.
If you decide to do it, one character of mine that could work is Hoverhands, one of my few superhero types. Your take, obviously, go wild if you want to.
Anything you’d like me to do?
SulemanParticipant…well. That sure is a baby. Very impressive! The shading work really blends the parts together, nothing sticks out in a bad way.
SulemanParticipantI’m sorry to inform you that some dinosaurs having secondary brains near their tails is a myth.
In other news, I wrote a quick newbie tutorial for how to save larger heromachine designs without the image being cut off awkwardly.
SulemanParticipantNice! I like the changes you made. The strapped chest symbol on the rider is especially nice.
I’m still up for art trades, but I guess I could also try doing my schoolwork instead.
SulemanParticipantI was lacking in inspiration, so I decided to heed the old rule “When in doubt, make robot dinosaurs”. This is also known as the Folly Of Primus.
In all seriousness, though, the reason I made this is because I noticed one of the shoe items in Heromachine looked like a head. The dinosaur’s head is a shoe. THE DINOSAUR’S HEAD IS A SHOE.
EDIT:
I made an updated version. The legs were too short and too spread apart to work on a bipedal robot
SulemanParticipantI’m curious to see which one you will pick. Maybe don’t go for the really ancient superhero stuff, other than that it’s up to you. I’ve got all my stuff on Deviantart.
Anyone else up for an art trade?
SulemanParticipantThis shows the progress of the Veiakere design.
I started with the pose, moved on to the armor and the sword, then the colors, then the shadows, then the highlights, then any additional tweaks I had. That’s about it!
SulemanParticipant
SulemanParticipantOnce again, I’m feeling the itch to create, but lacking in inspiration. Would any of you be interested in some art trades again?
SulemanParticipantThe problem is, suit jackets hang fairly straight down when they’re open.
Here’s some examples:
The suit would have to be closed for it to follow the body shape. So I kind of shot myself in the foot when I chose the outfit. Lessons learned!
I might try adding the shadow below the bottom of the jacket, though, thanks for reminding me.
