SulemanParticipantI would say 3 as well. However, I think 2 could be better than 3 if the mask had more detail or was of a different color.
Also, what is his powerset? The design should fit what the character does.
SulemanParticipantThis is the first version of a new lady knight design. I’m thinking she’s gonna be called Lady Buffalo. She’s pretty big and pretty pointy and pretty pretty. She rarely bothers with weapons in the usual sense, her armored bulk is destructive enough.
The armor is not realistic at all, and it does not have any feminine curves, that much is true. It’s not supposed to be form-fitting, it’s armor. If you want, though, I can put giant swinging metal testicles on the next male knight design I make.
SulemanParticipantHere’s Baldo McGraypants demonstrating the Dente di zenghiaro (“Boar’s Tooth”) guard of the italian longsword. It’s just a posing exercise at this point, but I might do something with it, later!
EDIT: Added a version with armor!
SulemanParticipantHuh, you’re really in a ninja mood right now, aren’t you? I like all three of them, the poses are pretty damn amazing.
I also like how you remembered to have Libiro grab the sheath with his other hand when pulling the sword free.
SulemanParticipantArgh, just noticed a few mistakes that really bothered me.
Here is a fixed version.
EDIT: Also added a coatless version.
SulemanParticipantOoh. That’s a really neat scene. I really like how you didn’t include too much detail, now every important bit really pops out.
SulemanParticipantWell, here’s my toast to the lucky couple! That’s a really cute concept.
SulemanParticipantThanks Herman and Linnea. Those robot parts sure are handy, but he can’t hug anyone with them and that’s super sad. The mask’s shape is mostly thanks to the big cybernetic eyes on it. I wanted to give them a chameleon-like look, but I’m not sure if that came across terribly well.
I also made another wrestler character! This is Jun “Scorpion” Suzukawa.
A bonafide superstar from Japan, she invaded SFWA and captured the championship. She hits hard and kicks harder. A very tough customer. Her finishing move is the Scorpion Deathlock, of course.
She doesn’t wear the coat while wrestling, obviously, but it does look pretty cool, doesn’t it?
SulemanParticipantThanks, JR!
I also made a version of Hoverhands wearing his battle pants. Even at a facility like that, you can’t just wear your pajamas all day.
SulemanParticipantThat remade Bridge Protector shows how much you’ve advanced in terms of coloring and shading. It was a really good design even without those, now it’s pretty brilliant.
The stars-and-stripes color scheme with Starchild is really well done! That has been done so many times before, but this feels really nice and fresh. Digging it.
SulemanParticipantThe Ancient’s helmet is really cool, now I wish I had come up with the concept myself.
I also dig Jet’s retro look. That collar is going to be really impractical if he’s gonna be flying at high speeds, but you gotta look cool.
SulemanParticipantThe sandstorm and the desert ground in that latest picture are really nice. Great idea, man.
SulemanParticipantOh my! I’m really digging the shading in all of these, you have an amazing eye for color.
I like your posing too, especially for that gunslinger fellow.
SulemanParticipantI’m back, with a superhero character for once!
Codename: Hoverhands
Real Name: Raymond Manalastas
Age: 32
Description:
What little can be seen of the man under his cybernetic enchancements tells you this:
Raymond Manalastas is a man of Filipino descent in his early 30s. He is pale, thin and as cleanly shaven as a man with hovering robotic mitts can be.
His cybernetic enchancements seem like a hack job, with some mismatching parts. Most of his body is covered in a glossy epidermis, and the upper half of his head is dominated by a pair of large, cybernetic eyes, moving independently from each other.
What is especially distinctive about him, however, are his arms, or lack thereof. They have been replaced with shoulder-mounted control pods and a pair of fairly large floating robotic gauntlets. He can send them to grab, pull and punch, as well as use them to swing himself around Starlight City.
Background:
Raymond was an investigative journalist looking for a scoop at the Mentonaut Halfway House for Wayward Superhumans. Were they harboring fugitives? Were they a danger to society? Could their personal tragedies be turned into a sensationalist, money-making article?
Unfortunately for him, his persistent and personal inquiries pushed a certain resident’s buttons too much, causing an outburst that took the help of three other residents and the obliteration of most Raymond’s upper body to end.
A mad genius spending time at the House rebuilt Raymond using whatever materials she had available at the time. The end result was… grotesque, but impressively functional. He tried to return to normal life, but found it impossible. He is back at the House now, as a resident.
Raymond is a skilled journalist, but has been held back by a number of personal flaws. He is often impatient and insensitive, and has had trouble dealing with authority. Strangely enough, nearly getting annihilated might have been the best thing to happen to him. It has given him time and reason to deal with his other issues.
I will be playing this character in a tabletop superhero game!
SulemanParticipantDaaang, that’s a really good background. Once again, you did a great job with the colors, too.
