SulemanParticipant@Lightningsword: Thanks! Heh, yeah, the shading on the cloak. I always get lazy when I’m shading black items, because it’s so hard to get shadows to show on them. I mean, who’s gonna notice something like that? (You.)
The Falconer is a mysterious man. Rumors say his words shape the fate of kingdoms, and that even the mightiest are careful not to cross him.
Or, he could just be a dude who likes birds. Maybe you shouldn’t be listening to rumors.
This is mostly an exercise in making a character design facing to the side. It was pretty difficult, but definitely interesting!
SulemanParticipantNice shading! I sort of feel the cloak might cast a slight shadow on the armor, but that’s nitpicking.
SulemanParticipantI made another guide, this time on how to make clothing for angled poses.
SulemanParticipantLord Skull
I noticed Heromachine has a bunch of new parts for me to play with. Aaaand then I made an action figure.
SulemanParticipantThat code is clearly not something HM3 can understand. HM3 saves are written in a type of XML, so everything should be wrapped in <tags>.
A proper Heromachine text save should look something like this:

SulemanParticipantCan you post or link the text you’re trying to load? It would help us see if it’s a formatting issue. If the code you paste into the text field is incorrectly formatted, the application cannot load it. That’s the only possibility I can think of right now.
SulemanParticipantThis is not me trying to tap into the 80s girls’ cartoon fanbase. This is Melly Mellon, squire to heroes and my character in a game of Fellowship.
Melly is an impossibly cheerful and sociable little lady, who wears a comically large cap and an enormous rucksack that still never seems to weigh her down that much. She is always ready to help those in need, fight evil and make friends.
She is actually not real. Her people are Figments, psionic beings that normally appear to physical beings only in dreams and visions. They are only semi-sentient, and reflect the subconscious of the people around them, typically.
However, the evil Bishop’s actions have caused so much suffering that many people, especially the poor orphans, needed help, a friend. This subconscious need gave Melly her form. She is the world’s imaginary friend!
It is very rare for Figments to become real, only when things are really bad and people’s subconscious desires become really strong. Unfortunately, that works both ways. Some of Melly’s fellow Figments have appeared in the Real as nightmares, spreading the terror that gave them form. They are another obstacle facing the heroes’ quest to defeat Bishop.
SulemanParticipantAwright! Fantastic work on the glowing skin, he looks like he’d bleed flames if you were to cut him. A bit slimmer than the original, but no less threatening.
SulemanParticipant
SulemanParticipantAlright, thanks!
CKnap was technically before me, so even though I finished first, I would be okay with it if you did one for CKnap before me.
As for which one of my characters, I was hoping you would pick one yourself. If I really have to choose, I guess I’ll go with Hajan, the fire genasi barbarian. He’s in need of an upgrade. His “tattoos” are actually supposed to glow like he was filled with fire. Feel free to update the design where necessary!
SulemanParticipantReally digging that dragon fellow, as well as the posing in roshana-zyath-scales. Good stuff, keep it up!
SulemanParticipantHere is my part of the trade!
This is my take on Snow Owl. I decided to go with one of your older designs again. Also, is Snow Owl supposed to be a hero or a villain?
SulemanParticipant@AMS: If a third one isn’t too much, I could also be up for a trade. I don’t have a particular one of mine in mind, so pick one. I’m interested in seeing your choice.
SulemanParticipantHeya! Welcome to the forums. I really like the background you made for Gavin. Nice and detailed, but colored distinctly so everything is clear.
The problem with ears is that they’re so small in non-closeup pictures. If you added more details/scars, the end result might look a bit messy from further away.
If you really want scars or battle damage for your characters, though, look no further than the Zombie-categories. This one has a scar from Head -> Zombie. I have also found success with this Insignia item, which I masked to the ear here.
If you use them, you might want to fiddle a bit with the colors and transparencies, too, so that the scars blend a bit better into the surrounding skin.
SulemanParticipantPick what you want. I find guessing what characters other people will choose to be part of the fun.
