GuyGenesisParticipantGoing to post this…
Dazzle Shadow
…(traveling from one shadow to another)!
A few things if I may, the hand is a simple fix just needs an arm positioned to match, and the colors are too dark, the details are lost in it. I included a text file with a few examples including how to fix the arm and hand and masking the background image onto the character to give the appearance of transparency while keeping it cleaner without showing everything layered underneath (I discovered this technique while creating a character phasing through a wall). To hide the extra insignia and/or background (red outline) used for masking I either mask to another piece(each item can only hold one mask) on the character or simply make it transparent.
EDIT* Use txt 1 (I don’t know how to erase the other and had the masked background colors off)

GuyGenesisParticipantExport as .png with transparency from HM3 (as long as background is default (no insignia or background image) leaves image transparent while keeping gradients intact. (for use in paint change selection to transparency)
GuyGenesisParticipantFair enough, I didn’t know how to incorporate the silver into the horns, and felt it lost the connection to the tail the way I did it. The more I look at what you’ve got, I would say it looks flat(found the better word) instead of tacked-on. I wonder if a simple highlight wouldn’t do the trick?
Anyways looking forward to what you come up with.
GuyGenesisParticipantI like it, I love the devil tail incorporated as a chain/belt, very clever and the wings on the glove(s) adds a bit of flare.
I do have one suggestion about the horns on the headphones, for a better choice of word they look tacked-on, I wonder if it would look better if they were incorporated into the (wire)frame as an outline.
Ex.

GuyGenesisParticipantNah just JR staring 😉
GuyGenesisParticipantLast time I promise, sorry again Nug. Back by popular request, or is that request from the popular?
@JR & AMS – Thanks fellas, like I said before I love the way shading looks (looking at you AMS) but I don’t have the patience for it (150+ for everything). Nug relly has a solid design here, I just felt the superman-esque symbol didn’t do it justice, but I agree he captured the sexy without revealing “too” much. Took your advice which is always welcome, that’s how we grow (boy did that sound kinda corny). Anyways took some liberties with her face/hair.
@Nug – Thanks for the compliment on Aries and letting me share in the spotlight even if I did weasel my way in 🙂 and looking forward to what you come up with in the way of Nug’s Incredibles and other creations in general@Forum goers – We now return you to your regularly scheduled thread hosted by our good friend Nug.

GuyGenesisParticipantSorry for hijacking your thread once again Nug. going off AMS suggestion and what we were discussing, I shaded her in the above post, see what you think.
GuyGenesisParticipant*Tugs at collar*
Hmm. well, yes, ahhh this is awkward, my crotch area seems to keep me in trouble with women’s husbands.ok bad joke, anyways I added text as attachment in above post, so feel free to do with it as you will, be it use it, dissect it or simply awesomfy it.
I can definitely appreciate the work you put in, my characters went from a couple hours at most on HM2.5 to around 4 or so on HM3, to now 6-8 minimal. Two things that really sets the characters off are posing and shading, but the posing becomes more a hassle with every detail, and by the time shading comes up, I’m just done.
I ran through your thread and I have to say you’ve got some impressive works form posing to shading to character design.
GuyGenesisParticipantThanks, admittedly while I was waiting for a response I already recreated her.
You’ll see what I was referring to with the bikini line above.
Again, very cool piece, usually I only ask to recreate someone else’s creation if I really like it. If you want the text I can upload it.P.S. the shading on yours looks great, the bikini area is good as is(shading wise).
updated her boots to look like yours(better design)Attachments:

GuyGenesisParticipantSupermom is pretty cool. I love the costume, the colors and especially the bikini/dress combo, really neat idea.
May I make one suggestion? The way the legs are drawn(in program) to show the bends, it almost makes it seem there’s too little covering. I’m guilty of it myself with a previous work. I wonder if anyone would color the bends to where there only visible toward the inner legs slightly beyond the bikini, if it wouldn’t look more classy?
Actually, I wonder if you would mind if I took a crack at the outfit?
GuyGenesisParticipantNot a problem and thank you. Any suggestions to avoid that happening again? cause?
GuyGenesisParticipantThread/archive still missing
Universe Genesis (not the crossover one, just UGen)
the above http doesn’t seem to work for me unless I’m logged in, and then it’s stuck on whatever page it keeps popping up. It says 2 but I think it’s the first without my original post. Any help would be appreciated. I went through my name and looked under topics started and it’s not there, searched the forums not there either, googled it (universe genesis heromachine), again with no luck, but some strange results (just another wordpress site as top of page logo, talking about loans, with my power user profile mentioned in the middle?)
I have no idea what is going on.
GuyGenesisParticipantSeem to be having same problem as CKnap
Just edited original post to remove old character links to who knows where(after update) and when I hit save, the forum reloaded without my OP, exited and tried searching the forums and now it seems to be completely gone.
Here is the http from after update
http://www.heromachine.com/?post_type=topic&p=98/page/2/won’t change page?
GuyGenesisParticipantHad to google him, though yours was closer to his concept than mine appears to be. Masking the body from male>materials is probably what you would find the most useful for the rocky shape, the match to the head you used. As for the bare feet, they seem to give a more brutish feel, and I tend to add a bit of a fantasy flare to most of my creations, hence the sharper edges.
And just to clarify I really liked your character, hence wanting to try my hand at him. When I see a character that catches my eye, not thinking I can do it better, I just like to see what I can do with them in general.
The text is yours to do with as you please, use it, modify it, reference it, whatever, looking forward to what you do with him and future works.
GuyGenesisParticipantglad you like it, I update his post with a link to the text.
and fair warning I’ve gotten in the habit of masking insignia shapes on random layers to the original body parts to leave a clean background, so he may be a bit difficult to deconstruct. Other than the difficulty caused from double masking: item to insignia back to item, there shouldn’t be too much masking actually
