Seth Emery was a criminal long before he got his powers. That happened when he was caught in the middle of a fight between two superhumans and accidentally been hit by both their powers. In this moment his own Xenogene was activated and he instinctively absorbed the abilities of the fighters.Seth has the power to temporarily replicate the special abilities of any super-beings in his immediate proximity – optimally by thouching them whereby he usurp the powers of his victim completely, gaining all its skills and power and leaving it powerless in turn. He also has the ability to steal the powers of several beings simultaneously, making him even more powerful and virtually unstoppable with every being encountered. Usually his victims naturally regain their lost power after a while, but in some rare cases the effect is permanently.
Furthermore he has the ability to sense the presence of the Xenogene in others who are in close proximity to himself and the capability to irreversible catalyze the untapped genetic potential of these latent superhumans, often with unpredictable side effects. He can also supercharge other superhumans’ powers, often to dangerous levels.

When terrorists exercised a bomb attack on a government agency in Washington, Emma Hains was buried alive by the collapsing building. Trapped under a steal beam, that literally squashed her right leg, she spent eight days in the ruins without any sign of hope for help and survived with just enough condensed water dripping from above. Febrile due to onset of gangrene in her leg and near starvation she suddenly had an out-of-body experience when her Xenogene finally kicked in.Abruptly she floated over her own body while still mentally connected to it. To her surprise she could phase through the debris surrounding her like a ghost and reached in this way the surface where she found a fireman who she asked for help. But when he saw the phantom in front of him he was scared to death and passed out stumbling into Emmas new form. At this moment she somehow bonded with that mans body and possessed him like a real ghost.
In the body of the stranger she tried to get down to her own body and lifted rubble weighing several hundred kilos whitout even realising it. She eventually managed to free her body and to carry it outside where the stress of her actions took its toll and she slipped weakened out of the man she possessed and returned to her own body.
She later discovered that she has the ability to separate her spirit form from her physical body by will while controlling both her presences, the astral and corporeal. In her spirit form she can become both intangible or solid and phase through solid objects such as walls and people. Also she can make other matter intangible by touching it and possess people as well as machines and control them.
When she possesses a human his strength, durabilty and endurance is enhanced to a near superhuman level and if he already is a superhuman his powers are intensified to a high degree. Since this ability, however, weakens her the longer she utilise it, she always only stays for a few minutes in a foreign body. If she remains too long, she can be deprived of all her powers for several hours or even days in the aftermath.
Unlike “normal” astral beings Emmas spirit form is very visible to everyone and appears as a green shimmering phantasm. In this state her physical body is surrounded by some sort of impenetrably force field that protects it from any harm.

Vivian Harris has the power to generate, manipulate and/or absorb the electromagnetic radiation that is visible to the human eye and which is emitted and absorbed in tiny “packets” called photons – in other words: light.She is capable to absorb all forms of illumination and utilize it for a variety of uses such as creating constructs, holographs, force-fields, and shields of light. She can also bend the light around her to become invisible, generate blasts of photon energy, create and ride light-waves in order to fly.
By absorbing the ambient light within her immediate environment she can bring an area in total darkness.

THX – that was what I indended since I was going for a mix of James Bond and Nick Fury, so I’m quite pleased with the result.

Barrett Mackenna and his little brother Aidan (Spitfire) were still kids when Barrett accidentally set his bed in the children’s room on fire while playing with matches. The fire spread fast and soon the boy were trapped in the burning room but just before the flames reached them, their Xenogene was activated and the disaster took its course to the worst. In their fear from the fire they unconsciously kindled it even more with their newly acquired powers and set the whole house in flames in a matter of seconds.But even though the boys were ultimately immune to the fire and survived the blaze unscathed, their parents weren’t so lucky and died a painful death. After this tragedy the boys were split up and while Aidan was taken in by his caring aunt and her husband, Barrett was blamed for the accident and landed in the system bounced from one foster family to the next over the following years.
Afraid of the reactions of other people to their strange abilities both the brothers kept it secret until the “Awakening” event, when people around the world suddenly developed super powers. It was on that day that the ways of the brothers should separate forever. While Aidan became a superhero, Barrett blamed the whole world for his hard life full of abuse and fear and decided never again to be victim but rather perpetrator himself. This was the beginning of his career as a super villain.
Superpowers:
Like his brother, Barrett possesses the physical ability to envelop or transform his entire body, or portions of it, into a fiery plasma-like state of will without harm to himself. The cells of his body convert energy from foodstuffs into a form of complex energy containing molecule that not only provides ordinary bodily energy but contains large stores of latent chemical-bonding energies. He is able to utilize this extra energy by converting it into a moderate-density, plasma-like state that can be modified by an act of will.
Even in his plasma state, Barrett’s body is still solid but due to the temperature of his plasma at approximately 2,800 F (near the melting point of iron) any projectile is melted before it even reach his body. He also can generate shapes composed of fire from any point on his body (usually his hands) and has the mental ability to control the ambient heat energy and objects’ temperatures within his immediate environment, even when he himself is not aflame, and to form fire into long streams, spheres, and more complex shapes which will remain their shapes as long as he concentrates upon them.
Barrett himself is immune to fire and heat, including his own, and his flesh cannot be burned by any heat source whose level is below that of his maximum output which can reach about 1,000,000 F at the cost of exhausting his entire reserve of energy.

SIDESWIPE
Jaclyn Baker aka Sideswipe was a respected female boxer and had even won olympic gold when a sleazeball tried to fix her fights by threatening her. But Jaclyn ignored him and by that risked her own life. The crook ambushed her after a training session and shot her pointblank but soon realized this would be his last mistake. When the bullets hit Jaclyn her Xenogene was actived and she was boosted by the kinetic energy of the projectiles. Confused and angry she hit the gunman and crushed his skull to pulp with a single punch ruining her entire career at the same time.Jaclyn has the abilty to absorb the energy of any blow she is struck by, not just punches, but also projectiles like bullets, electricity and beams of any type of energy directed toward her and to metabolize it to enhance her own physical strength, speed, and stamina or rechannel it through her body in the same form that was absorbed but with twice the force/power. This makes her extremely difficult to defeat in battle, as every blow struck against her only makes her stronger.
Even without absorbing energy, Jaclyn has increased strength and recuperative abilities, as well as a measure of invulnerability due to stored absorbed energy within his personal reserves, keeping her capabilities always at a superhuman level. The upper limits of her ability to enhance her own physical abilities with absorbed energy is not exactly known since it seems to have never been exhausted yet.

Ian Carlyle (Codename: Ghost 13) is the director of the international espionage organization T.O.U.C.H.S.T.O.N.E. – The Tactical Operations Unit for Crises in Homeland Securities, Threat Oberservations and Network Espionage).He is a masterspy and accomplished strategist who has a brilliant tactical sense that makes him the greatest tactician in the world, both on and off the battlefield. He is able to formulate extremely elaborated battle strategies and alter them in seconds to fit the changing need of the situation.
Ian has completed trainings in several military forces like Rangers, Special Forces, and Navy Seals and is not just an unarmed- and armed-combat expert who holds a black belt in Tae Kwon Do and a brown belt in Jiu Jitsu, but also an exceptional ambidextrous marksman of every type of firearm skilled in sharpshooting. Furtermore he is fluent in English, German, Russian, Japanese and lingual in other languages.
Carlyle has admitted to have an activated Xenogene but nobody knows what exactly his superpowers are and as a good spy he naturally keeps it a secret…

Dillon Caldwell worked as a technician in a cryogenic facility where rich people had preserved their bodies or heads after death in cold storage for a possible resurrection in the future. When a couple of junkies broke into his lab to look for drugs he tried to stop them but was pushed into a tank of liquid nitrogen by them during the struggle. But instead of dying instantly as it would expected Dillons Xenogene was activated and provided him with the gift of Cryokinesis turning not only his blood literally freezing cold.Winterkills average body temperature lies at absolute zero (the point where all molecular motion stops) and has the ability to lower it even more within the span of a few tenths of a second, causing the surrounding moisture in the air that is in contact with him to freeze and form a covering with the consistency of crystalline ice that encompasses his body either partially or entirely. He is also capable to project intense coldness from his body and to control moisture such as to freeze any air moisture into super-hard ice forming it into any object of his choosing.
His powers are so vast that they extend to the molecular level, to the point that he can freeze all of the molecules of an object/being with a single touch and by this way for example freeze another’s body to induce rigor mortis in his organism. The only downside of his powers is the need of a ventilatory support when the air around him gets to warm for him to breathe.

Adkar aka “Adrian Karan”Snatched from his home-dimension of “H’elio” by a time and space rift accidentally created by Trailblazer during the “Days of Annihilation”, Adkar first lied low and lived as Adrian Karan disguising himself to appear human. But after studying the human pop culture for several months he realized that in these modern times demons and devils would rather be treated like celebrities than feared for what they are and decided to become a famous rockstar, letting his fans in the goth and heavy metal scene believe his appearance was just a fancy masquerade for the show.
Just a few people outside of the superhero world know what he really is and those would never talk, since Adkar can fulfill all your wishes with his vast magical powers – if you’re willing to pay the price. It isn’t easy to pin him down as good or bad, due to his ambivalent character. Sometimes he helps the heroes and sometimes the villains – that seems to depend on what’s in it for him…

Copycat – Kathryn DrydenBorn with an IQ of 143 and an eidetic memory Katrhyn excelled in every field of study at Harvard University, but was despised by her fellow students with envy and resentment. When her Xenogene was activated during the “Awakening” event she finally got the opportunity to get back at all who had ever treated her poorly.
The Xenogene intensified her gift to the extreme giving her photographic reflexes in addition to a now vastly increased eidetic memory. She has not only the ability to acquire the knowledge and skills of other people – eg medical knowledge or enginering skills – in the shortest time by mere observation and implement themselves, but also the capability of perfectly duplicating any physical movement/action after watching it only once, including acrobatics, martial arts, and other physical stunts.
Due to these reflexes, she can do things which border on superpowers, like duplicating the moves of Bruce Lee or Jackie Chan at a greatly increased velocity by watching a movie on fast-forward and even copy the subtle muscle movements of others so precisely that she can copy another persons voice so precisely as to fool voice recognition software.
Kathryn is considered to be the most dangerous and lethal fighter on the planet, since she is able to combine the combat techniques of several martial arts disciplines which she is proficient in, including but not limited to the art of Boxing, Muay Thai, Capoeira, Krav Maga, Hapkaido, Kung Fu, Savate, Judo, Aikido, Jujutsu, Wing Chun and Tae Kwon Do.

I’ve noticed that I don’t have many female superheroes in my repertoire. So I decided it’s time for some girl power.
PANDORA BLACK
Pandora Black: Gun for HireBorn as the daughter of two Marines, Pandora seemed to be destined for the military service. But with time it turned out that she has great authority problems and after some (physical) clashes with superiors, she was eventually dishonorably discharged from the army. Pandora was already an exceptional sharpshooter before her Xenogene was avitated during the “Awakening” event which provided her with the gift of perfect aim.
The Xenogene increased the number of rod cells in her retinas while decreasing the cone cells at the same time, which resulted in vastly heightening her visual acuity and contrast. Concurrently she gained enhanced muscles around her eyes increasing her ability to change focal length through orb distortion.
Due to these improvements Pandora is now capable to hit any and every target with a complete and utter accuracy that borders on the uncanny. Once focused on a target it’s virtually impossible for her to miss – regardless of the weapon she uses. See was seen to lacerate a person’s throat with a thrown dvd, spit a chewing gum through a human eye and to pierce a mans’ heart with a toothpick thrown from a hundred yards away.
As a result of the her military training and her enhanced hand-eye coordination, Pandora can quickly learn how to wield most weapons even if she’s never seen them before. Aside from any sort of guns she is also skilled with knives, swords, and other weapons.

December 21, 2012 – 02:30:36 CDT (UTC-6)
Houston, Texas (USA) – Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center (Briefing Room)After they had left the cave with their new friend, Captain Brosnan and his crew had reported back to Mission Control and received the command to instantly return to Earth with Captain Sterling.
Immediately after their landing two days later the Altair crew and Captain Sterling were taken to a strictly secured and sealed off meeting room deep in the bowels of the Johnson Space Center, where they already been expected by Commander Doyle Hanson, Norris Wyman and NASA head Charles Bolden, as well as his Deputy Lori Garver.
Wyman Norris took the floor first.
“Nice to have you back, Captain Sterling. I did not expect to ever see you again. And then just as you have looked like back then. How is all this possible?”
“Well, Commander, that’s a very long story, but I can at least try to summarize it.”
“We will listen curiously, Captain. I suppose the whole thing has something to do with the alien technology that my people saw in this cave on the moon?” said Charles Bolden.
“That is correct, sir. As you probably know, my mission in 1985 was to explore the South Pole-Aitken basin on the far side of the moon, from which we then assumed by earlier recordings of American and Soviet lunar probes that a very large impact body had pierced the lunar crust at this place – we suspected a big meteorite.”
“That is known to me.”
“Well, what you don’t know is that this impact body was actually the debris of an alien spacecraft, which broke apart over Earth about 65 million years ago due to damage, it had just suffered in a fight. The other part crashed in Central America – more precisely on the northern Yucatán Peninsula.”
“Yucatán? Do you talk about the Chicxulub crater in Mexico, which is associated with the extinction of the dinosaurs?” Lori Garver asked.
“That’s right, ma’am.”
“Pretty strong stuff, if you ask me.”
“Then you will be certainly be blown away by the rest of my story.”
„Go on, Captain.“ Bolden said.
“I can’t tell you, what became of the aliens, who survived the crash, but I assume that they are still somewhere on Earth, since they were stranded here after the crash.”
“And how do you know all this?”
„I was about to talk about that. When I entered the South Pole-Aitken Basin in 1985 to collect rock samples I discovered, just like your people did, a weak signal that seemed to come out of a cave. At this point I had already lost radio contact with Earth, but we had anticipated that possibility so I didtn’t really worry about that.
Intrigued, I entered the cave and followed the signal to that very room where Captain Brosnan and his crew found me two days ago. Shortly after I had entered it, the devices in the room switched on by itself and a computer voice started to talk to me – in English to my even greater surprise.
The computer told me that the facility was a kind of monitoring station for the already mentioned aliens – called the »Mata’Nui« – and that it’s purpose was to look out for this other aliens with which the castaways were fighting back then.
When I asked the computer to explain all this to me, all of a sudden cables emerged from the console in front of me and connected themselves to my head. Shortly thereafter, the complete saved history of the Mata’Nui until their arrival on Earth was transferred directly into my brain.
I learned that the Mata’Nui were an extremely advanced humanoid race from the planet Matu’Ran of the Ca’Luan solar system in the Antlia Dwarf Galaxy, and traveled the entire universe with the help of artificial wormholes – you might know them as Einstein-Rosen bridges- with which they could bend space and time at the universal level. The latter I only mention because I will come back to it soon.
Anyway, the home planet of the Mata’Nui was completely unprepared when it was someday attacked and conquered by a group of homeless extraterrestrial races who describe themselves as »Harvester« and move from planet to planet to pounce like a swarm of locusts over its resources, until only a dead world is left.
After decades of bitter struggle against the invaders, the people of the Mata’Nui were almost completely wiped out – except for a few hundred survivors who eventually managed to escape aboard one of their last remaining functional space cruiser and to open a wormhole through which they wanted to escape.
But before that could happen, they were attacked by a Harvester battleship and involved in a fight, during which both the Mata’Nui ship and the wormhole were hit hard. The latter thus started to destabilize and just as it collapsed it sucked the Mata’Nui ship in and flung it into our solar system, where it crashed on Earth as mentioned before.
To my relief the transmission broke off at this point. Unfortunately, the machine wasn’t quite done with me, since it had chosen me as part of a so-called »Harbinger protocol«.
After the data transfer was completed, a glass cylinder lowered from the ceiling above me, closed around me and was filled with a strange gas that made me lose consciousness. When I woke up, I found myself with strange new abilities in an other dimension.
Just a few days ago I managed to return to the moon base where your people found me shortly thereafter.”
The people at the conference table stared at him in amazement and bandied confused looks. Charles Bolden spoke first:
“I have many questions, but the most important first: Are these the same Harvesters, of which you have spoken towards Captain Brosnan and which are allegedly on their way to Earth?”
“Exactly, sir.”
“But that was 65 million years ago, how is that possible?”
“Excuse me, I probably didn’t made it clear enough that the Mata’Nui were transported not only across space but also through time itself into the past of our earth.
The events of which I spoke earlier actually occured only about almost 86 years ago – or more precisely in 1927. So enough time for the Harvester to track down the Mata’Nui and follow them here using their warp drives. At least that’s what I conclude from the calculations by the computer in the lunar base, according to which the harvester reach Earth in less than 10 hours. “
“10 hours? If this is true, we have to put all armed forces on alert immediately.” Lori Garver cried out scared.
“What you should do of course, but it will unfortunately not do much. Even your entire nuclear arsenal can’t do nothing against these bastards, as you will soon see.”
“You already said something like that on the moon to Captain Brosnan. I quote:
» The Harvesters are coming and there’s nothing anybody can do about it. No one can stop them and the following events, but we can still save the future of the mankind, if we find the Walker. «
What exactly you mean by that and who or what is this »Walker«?“
Captain Sterling had made himself comfortable in his chair and exuded a calm that had the opposite effect on all the others present.
“Do you remember the strange abilities that I mentioned? Well, I don’t know exactly what the Mata’Nui have done to me, but besides the fact that I hop uncontrolled through parallel universes and dimensions and don’t age like expected since, I have the gift to perceive alternative time lines, which lead to different versions of the future.
In none of these time lines, we can fend off the attack of the harvester and each time it ends up with humanity either exterminated or enslaved – sometimes both. However, there is also one possible future in which we can defeat the invaders after numerous struggles within a few years and send them fleeing.
But for that to happen we need the help of that very man whom I only know by the name of Walker. According to the alien database in my head, this man has been changed just like me a long time ago by the Mata’Nui and is ever since traveling seemingly uncontrolled back and forth in time. “
“Jesus! Travel to other dimensions and through time – what next?” Wyman Norris groaned, while massaging the temples of his aching head with his fingers.
“If I hadn’t seen the alien devices with my own eyes, I would personally cause your immediate admission into a nuthouse.” added Dr. James Cohen of the Altair crew.
“Oh – believe me Doctor, it will still get a lot crazier. You don’t even know what the help of Mr. Walker looks like.”
“What is that supposed to mean now?” Charles Bolden looked at the man, who appeared as if he were risen from a science fiction film, with uplifted eyebrows.
Like me Mr. Walker received a special gift, of which he is probably only vaguely aware. He is able to instinctively locate people with specific genetic characteristics and to influence these genes so that their owners develop supernatural abilities – super powers if you want to say so.
If we manage to bring these mutated people together and to organize a resistance, we may succeed to realize the time line, of which I have spoken, and possibly even create a better future for the surviving humans.”
The silence following this statement was becoming very oppressive, when Charles Bolden abruptly turned to a screen that was located on the wall the behind conference table and had yet remained dark.
“Did you get all that, Mr. President?”
The display lit up and the face of Barack Obama, who had apparently been switched in via live connection all the time, became visible.
“I did. The most urging question to Captain Sterling that vies for my attention at this moment is: what can we do to prepare for the attack in only a few hours and to save as many lives as possible. I hope you have a suggestion for that also?”
“Well, sir, since it might be too late to evacuate the major cities, which are certainly the primary target of the invaders, and panic just puts the people even more in danger, I would suggest that you at least inform the governments of other countries and then to get yourself, your government staff and as many military units as possible to safety as quickly as you can. And I think I also know where you should be heading – does the term »Area Zero« mean anything to you?”

Personally I think it’s okay, since it’s not much different than that old character contest that involved creating characters who were the sons/daughters of existing comic book heroes mentioned by DiCicatriz in his topic, but yes, I think I’ll follow your advice and ask a moderator first.
