Yup… If you heard it and you’re not familiar with it you’d be like, “Are those Elves in disguise?”.I never heard Filipino but I recognize some words here that I also encountered in Bali, Indonesia. I guess theres a relation between Filipino and Indonesian? I found the latter one to be a relatively easy language to learn (but already have forgotten everything I did actually learn) …

Mad JackParticipantHere comes the first governmental sanctioned European superhero-team (composed of the founding members of the European Union):
From left to right and front to back:WUNDERKIND from Berlin, Germany:
Thomas Schramm is a person of great and varied learning (polymath) and able to learn an incredible amount of knowledge at amazing speeds, picking up skills, languages, fighting techniques, etc. in no time at all. He has a perfect (eidetic) memory as well as photographic reflexes and never forgets anything he ever saw or read.
RED LION (Roude Léiw) from Luxembourg City, Luxembourg (my home country):
Thierry Schmit has the ability to transform into a half-human, half-cat creature, gaining the feline features of a lion. In his werecat form he has heightened senses (including an unusually well defined sense of smell which he can use to track people by scent), increased strength, speed, stamina, agility, reflexes, and a slightly accelerated healing factor.
ATOMIUM from Brussels, Belgium:
Albert Franquin is able to alter the molecular structure of his body and transform it into the matter of any object he touches. He can duplicate the physical properties of both animate and inanimate objects and even certain forms of energy. This way he can turn into steel, stone, wood, glass, water, fire, snow, and silk – to name but a few – and also mimic the superpowers of others to a certain degree when he touches them.
MAQUIS from Paris, France:
Jacques Bertrand is a highly skilled telekinetic with the additional abilty to project fields of psionic force which he can manipulate into a number of forms whereby the complexity of the shapes is only limited by his ability to imagine or mentally visualize a particular form and keep it in mental focus. The sizes of his projections can range between that of a marble or a bullet and that of a dome with a mile in diameter. He can cause the surface of his fields to be very hard, depending on its thickness (steel-like at about 2.5 feet), or as resilient as foam rubber.
FORZA ITALIA from Rome, Italy:
Francesco Fiore possesses superhuman physical strength, speed, stamina, agility, reflexes, and durability that are approximately 5 times greater than that of even the finest human athlete. He is also capable to boost one of these attributes at a time to its maximum for a short period and can thus for example reach supersonic velocities for a few minutes by further increasing his speed.
AGENT ORANGE (Agent Oranje) from Amsterdam, Holland (Netherland):
Rutger Van der Vaart’s body is that of living gas(es) and he can only achieve a human state again temporarily. This makes him nearly unable to live outside his specially built containment suit but makes him mostly invulnerable to physical harm at the same time. It gives him also the capability of transforming his body into any type of chemically produced or naturally occurring gas, either a pure elements or with complex compounds including mono-molecular mists.
Mad JackParticipantHrmpf – some people are too good to be allowed to participate in the contests. Just kidding! (Kind of…)
Mad JackParticipantGreat work! Hope you dont mind me criticizing her legs – maybe I’m just cross-eyed but I think they are a bit out of proportions …

Chernobyl is fantastic, seriously one of the best pieces of costuming I have seen here. Koshmar is also great.Thank you very much! I may not be great at posing but I love costuming. I try to not use the same item too often, but that’s getting harder and harder with each new character. So instead I try to find new combinations or use items in ways they weren’t intended for – I think masking is the HM tool I use most of all.

Serp and Molot are really cool, love the sickle and hammer theme and their costumes are terrific.Thanks. I had that idea since the 80s when I read my first superhero comic books. It just took a “few” years and Heromachine to materialize it. Meanwhile the USSR ceased to exist, but why bother?

I quite enjoyed Austria when I went there last year. I went to the Salzburg area in the middle of the summer so it wasn’t very busy.We visited my father for his 70th birthday who lives somewhere between Kufstein and Innsbruck. I really like Austria quite well but there’s a little rivalry between Austrians and Bavarians which is expressed by the latter in the saying: “When Judgment Day comes I’ll go to Austria – since it takes another 100 years for it to get there.” Maybe it gets lost in translation …

As for the new team, I have only one thing to say- фантаÑтичеÑкийБоже мой!
Mad JackParticipantI just came back from a 4-day trip to the last century (or Austria as the natives call it) so I’m too tired to write an elaborate back-story for each character but I wanted to give you the next team nevertheless. Guess you’ll have to settle with the powers – at least for now.
From the former USSR – a super-rebel group fighting for the restructuring of the Soviet system back to the glory days of Stalin:
BOGATYRI (Богатырь):
Left to right and front to back:SERP I MOLOT (Серп и Молот – “Sickle and Hammer”):
Two brothers wearing sophisticated battle armors built in the former Soviet Union which have a tremendous armament of weapons and grant variable superhuman attributes to their wearers.
RED STAR (КраÑÐ½Ð°Ñ Ð·Ð²ÐµÐ·Ð´Ð° = Krasnaja Zvezda):Born in 1940 in Siberia after his mother crashlanded on Earth in an spaceship and adopted by Soviet scientiest. As a biologically higher evolved man from the future, his cells absorb cosmic energies, and those in turn, fuel a variety of powers and abilities including Flight, Invulnerability, Longevity, Self-Sufficiency, and Heat Vision as well as Superhuman Strength, Stamina, Speed, and Senses.
KOSHMAR (Кошмар – “Nightmare”):Can summon and mind-control supernatural beings of any kind, is able to control peoples amygdala (and thus instill fear and terror in them), and is rumored to be a wicked demon trapped in the hundreds of years old undead body of a cursed warlock.
PERUN (Перун – god of thunder and lightning in Slavic mythology):He has the power of electrokinesis and can generate raw electricity which courses through his body. He is capable of discharging lightning bolts from his hands, manipulating all sources of electric energy, and summoning lightning bolts from the sky to administer them as a wide range of attacks with several uses.
VORON (Ворон = “Raven”):He wears a pair of electromagnetic wings which gives him the ability to fly with a natural winged flight limit (95 miles per hour) and provides him with superhuman strength, vitality and athletic prowess. The wings also have projectile capabilities and the feathers, which are as sharp as swords, can be used as projectile weapons. But his best trick is his “caw”: a potent sonic attack, able to damage and stun foes or objects, to the point of shattering metal.
CHERNOBYL (чернобыл – famous Ukrainian Nuclear Power Plant):Transformed into a being of pure nuclear energy he wears a special suit that allows him to control his powers and to maintain a human physical form. His atomic structure allows him to exert control over fundamental forces of the universe, including controlling gravity and electromagnetism. The suit also allows him to project his energy in form of concussive blast, grants him the abilty of flight and is loaded with an assortment of weapons effective against a great many metahumans.
Dos vedania …

[…] earning him the code name Blitzen, the lightning. […]Great back-story as always and the same applies of course to your great characters.
That said, I hope you don’t mind if I point out a little mistake with the name. The German word for Lightning is spelled “Blitz” (plural Blitze). “Blitzen” (written with a lowercase b) is the verb (doing word) of “Blitz” and the difference is the same as between “flashing” and “flash” (Blitz is the German word for both Flash and Lightning). “blitzen” is also used in the sense of sparkling, glimmering, flickering and so on. For example: “blitzendes Juwel” means “sparkling jewel/gem”. And now just for fun and to confuse you completely – in the daily use “blitzen” is mainly used as a dictum (winged word) in “jemanden (somebody) blitzen” which means “to catch sb. speeding”. So, to cut a long story short, just drop the “en” and there’s no danger of confusion with one of Santa’s reindeers…
Hope I don’t appear as overly didactic (knowing that I make a lot if mistakes myself when writing in english) and I also know that it may seem like I’m very nitpicky or even petty regarding those details lately, but I definitely don’t do it to belittle people – I really just want to help. So please believe me when I tell you and all the other members of this board to feel free and ask for help regarding German words, expressions, locations, history (at least in parts), background-informations, and whatnot. I’ll help you gladly.
