LucMemberThe similarity between the two scenes is uncanny, but the film seems delightfully twisted. Caught my curiousity, certainly.
Anywho, I’ve got a challenge now for anyone who thinks they can pull it off. I’m curious if it would be possible to get the “Supernatural Footage” effect recreated in Heromachine. You know, something like a scene out of Paranormal Activity, or Blair Witch, or one of those ghost hunting shows that make heavy use of night vision cameras. I’ve been trying to do something along those lines but can’t quite get it, so if anyone else wants to try their hand at creating something similar I’d love to see what they come up with.

Have you seen Un Chien Andalou, Luc? That hole in the hand with bugs reminds me of that movie. Eww…
Never even heard of it, but I might have to check it out now. Always interesting to see who’s had my ideas first
LucMemberHere’s another little something spooky I just cooked up. Anyone else got something scary they made with HM to share?
LucMemberOvercharge
Cursed (Or blessed depending on who you ask) by a being claiming to be a sun god, Overcharge was given the “Mark of The Bomber”, a strange marking upon his arm the causes anything he touches to be charged with energy until it can no longer contain it all and explodes. Every time he uses this ability causes the mark to grow and consume more of his body, the force of his explosions increasing with every new inch of skin the mark covers. With nothing to lose after his mark caused the deaths of his wife and daughter, he turned to FIEND in search of a new home and family… Though he fears that if the mark consumes him completely, it could result in an explosion large enough to level an entire city, or even destroy the world completely.
LucMemberIt’s almost December, and nothing says Christmas better than this…
Noel
Sometimes all it takes to create a villain is a delusional mind. Born with cryokinetic mutations and pointed ears, Noel has convinced herself that she’s… An elf from Santa’s workshop. More specifically, she believes that ol’ Saint Nick has stopped giving coal to those on the naughty list, and instead begun sending trained elf assassins after them. Needless to say, she’s got a few screws loose, and FIEND was quick to take advantage of this, manipulating her by saying they have a copy of the Naughty List.
LucMemberI guess we can technically say Blue wins this one in a landslide victory! Think I’m gunna give this one more try, with a whole variety of choices for you guys to redesign if you feel so inclined. Deadline is gunna be Sunday this time to make up for it being a bit late with this.
Brain Claw
After losing both arms in a tragic accident and unable to afford any alternatives, he sought the help of a particular evil genius to save him. He ended up getting a little more than he bargained for, as he instead just received cybernetic implants on his body that allowed him to create psychic projections of deadly clawed hands, and now has to repay his debt as one of the mad scientist’s many evil henchmen.
Only restriction is just a lack of arms and some representation of the psychic claws.
Pin Cushion
A strange sort of golem sewn together from bits of old cloth, the creature is essentially a living voodoo doll, able to inflict harm upon its enemies by hurting itself instead.
No restrictions for this one, just stick to the concept above. A non-standard body type is preferable though.
Road Block
A hulking behemoth made entirely out of concrete, Road Block is often known as “The Unmovable Object” because once he plants his feet down, it’s impossible to make him budge an inch.
Restrictions are just keep the colour scheme and the emblem somewhere on his costume.
Squidhead
A strange creature that seems to have crossed over from another dimension, these creatures look like ordinary squids or octopi, but if one is able to get on your head it will devour your skull and latch onto your neck stump to replace your head. The creature then links its nervous system with yours, to animate your lifeless corpse as a body of its own.
Only restriction is to use the squid companion instead of a character’s head.
Video
An inventor and a bit of a film geek, Video has managed to create a weapon that allows him to rip holes between fiction and reality, allowing him to cross over into fictional worlds, or call upon objects and characters from various works of fiction. He tries to use this weapon for good, but occasionally the temptation to cause mischief with such a power gets too strong.
Restrictions are just keep the colour scheme, and if you can (Though it’s not required), try to show the weapon’s ability somehow. Just avoid showing any copyrighted material if you do.
LucMemberHydrophobia
Once a powerful psychic hero capable of casting his mind into any inanimate objects around him, who unfortunately fell prey to the vicious aquatic villain known as Predator. Struggling to hold on to his life, he pushed his mind into whatever was closest to him… Which turned out to be the ocean surrounding them, creating a new body made entirely of water. All that remains of his old body is his skull, now floating inside his new liquid head. Although they now both fight on the same side as members of FIEND, Hydrophobia harbors an intense hatred for Predator, often making attempts to attack him whenever they meet.
LucMemberWell, it’s Friday. Anyone want to swoop in with some last minute entries to give Blue some competition, or is he gunna win this one by default?
LucMemberAnd as a little diversion from the FIEND stuff, here’s a random little robot fella.
LucMemberArachna
Another experiment from the lab that created Zero, Arachna has had her genes spliced and altered as well as several bionic implants to give her several traits of, you guessed it, a spider. However, her allies fear her as much as her enemies, as she has a nasty habit of trying to feed on both heroes and villains alike, including her fellow members of FIEND.
LucMember8 Ball Oracle
Another one of FIEND’s many mysteries, no one’s really sure just where the 8 Ball Oracle came from, or if there’s even a real person underneath that long flowing cloak of his. The Oracle is a rather odd prophet, seeming capable of viewing the future, but only ever communicating through cryptic messages via the large magic 8-ball he wears over his head… Or, maybe that is his head?
LucMemberAgent
Formerly a highly trained Spec-ops agent for the United States’ armed forces, Agent went rogue against the government to fight its corruption… Or at least, that’s what he thinks. The truth is that Agent has a hard time seeing the difference between reality and fiction, and is just trying to live out his favourite action and spy movies. He believes himself to be the hero fighting against a morally corrupt system, when really he’s nothing more than a terrorist with a set of high tech night-vision goggles, as well as just another pawn for FIEND.
LucMemberAlrighty, since Geek seems to be awesome enough how he is, lets try for some redesigns of a much, much more out-dated character, from back in the days when the only female body type available was under the “zombies” category.
Cargirl
The concept here is simple, a small-time villainess who steals cars in order to build weapons and armour out of their spare parts. No restrictions on this one, just take that basic concept and start runnin’. The deadline will once again be Friday, so a full week to work on this one.
LucMemberFair enough, guess I’ll scan through my old thread and folders to find a character in much more dire need of some polishing. There’s bound to be dozens of them.
LucMemberZero
The result of one of many experiments by FIEND’s resident cloning and genetics expert. “Subject Zero” originally fought along side one of the world’s many great heroes as a sidekick during his teen years but, like many young sidekicks, managed to get captured by a villainous mastermind who performed many twisted experiments on him to turn him into a tool for destruction. Many years later, after being spliced with a variety of mutant genomes, Zero has gained the ability to create special stasis fields, inside which he can alter the gravitational pull on objects inside of it.
