LimeParticipantBeen a while! I’m glad to see HeroMachine still going, and hopefully all will go well with it surviving the end of Flash.
Have a cityscape!

LimeParticipantSorry I’ve been gone so long! I was pretty sick there for a while. Turned out I had cancer, but luckily it was in an organ I can live without, so they took it out. And then just as I was more or less recovered from that, I developed these terrible joint pains that turned out to be rheumatoid arthritis. They gave me anti-inflamatories to keep it under control until I can see a rheumatologist. (A two-month wait!) So I GUESS the warranty on my body just ran out or something. I just turned 39 this month, thought I still had a year to go before that happened, but oh well …
ANYWAY, while I was laid up, I started writing a story about a woman who accidentally acquires a demon servant, and lately I’ve been playing Fallen London (my character is Amrys if anyone else is playing and wants to send me your calling card) and so I have had dapper devils on my mind. Like one Mr. Jasper Brimley. Or perhaps they are Miss Jasper Brimley. One never knows for sure with some devils.

LimeParticipantEveryone at Lady Rosemary’s manor: maid Mindy, guard dog Rex, Lady Rosemary (a sorceress), unexpected guest Mirai (also a sorcerer), young Farley the gardener’s boy, cook Hetty and gardener Bertie.

LimeParticipantShyly, he offered to share his umbrella.
“But, Megane Neko-kun …” she blushed. “… How do your glasses stay on when you have cat ears?”
“My … my artfully-tousled hair was supposed to cover up that problem,” he whispered.

LimeParticipantFor Camp Nanowrimo, I’m going to work on a story about a sorceress who lives in an isolated manor house with her servants, who are all dogs who have been given the ability to take on more or less human form. One day, as the dog servants are working outside, they witness a portal open up before them, and an injured man falls out. The dogs decide to tend to the man in secret, knowing their lady does not like company. But of course she finds out anyway, and, curious, allows to the man to stay and recover.

LimeParticipantHe decides her name must be Potato, since it says so on her clothes. (At first he thinks it might be Potatoes, but then decides that doesn’t make any sense, because she’s just one girl. They become friends, and he calls her Potato for the rest of her days.)

LimeParticipantRoshana doesn’t know why she was chosen to be the magician’s apprentice. She certainly never asked for the job. But she’s managing, and making new friends … including some with surprising secrets.

LimeParticipantA couple new friends today: A half-demon who babysits goblins, and a dragon guy.

LimeParticipantThat’s awesome. I love her dress, it makes me want to wear it. Then again, my manhood might be questioned. Sooooo nvm lol
Thanks!
Well, like I said, ultimately this picture was inspired by Labyrinth, which starred the recently-departed David Bowie (kinda the reason why I chose now to finish and share it), and David Bowie would totally have worn a pretty dress if the mood struck him, so do as you like!
LimeParticipantThis is a scene from one of my stories, and it is a scene that would not have existed without inspiration from the movie Labyrinth.

LimeParticipantSo technically, he’s not lying: he really is the son of a king. What he neglected to mention is that his mother was a concubine, and so he has no actual standing. To be fair, nobody asked him to clarify on the matter of whether he was a prince or not.
