Kaylin88100ParticipantAnother finalist in the same Random Name contest, Falcon Deluder!
I went through a very long stage of only doing female characters, from about June (Gemini contest entry) to this, made in November sometime.
I didn't actually think this was very good, and made it as a sort of joke entry, but obviously Jeff thought it was funny or something.
Kaylin88100ParticipantThis was a finalist in the 3rd Random Name contest. The name was Oceanic Wings.
I thought it was a cool name, so I made this and Jeff liked it. I don’t think the highlighting on the hair is the best I’ve ever done, but I like the hair itself. I also think the highlighting on the tail makes it look too square. If you know what I mean.
Kaylin88100ParticipantI honestly can't think of two people more suited to the jobÂ
Congrats, guys!Â
Kaylin88100ParticipantOK, thanks KaldathÂ

My only concern with starting up Hero of the week here on the new forums is that we do not at this time have anyone to create the polls, and judge the contest in the event of a tie. Jeff would be a perfect judge, but lets face it, he is extermely busy at this stage in life with his new job, running the Blog itself and looking after this forum as well the ugo forum. I think Hero of the week should be put on hold here until such time as Jeff decides to appoint some Moderators for these parts, if he decides he needs them.
You've got a good point. I don't have a clue how this worked on the old forums, never having been able to get an account, but I do agree that we need some sort of system for judging it. Hmm…could we appoint a judge? And just count up the votes from posts? This requires some consideration.
Kaylin88100ParticipantI second that nomination, Vigilance is great.Â

The BrainChild is a sweet one. Looks like a little toddler. Cute, for a cyborg.
What she said.Â

I'm having trouble getting a handle on the Path/Tag thing, Like I tried quoting a post earlier and my response is mixed in, is there a tutorial or something to get the hang of Word Press?
Â
EDIT* after finding one of Kaldath's posts on another thread, do I just have to use another browser other than IE?
It's difficult, and I've seen several people having the same problem. The trick to making sure your reply is outside the quote is to look just below the typing area, where it says “Path”. If it just says “p”, you're outside the quote. If it says “p >> blockquote >> p”, you're inside the quote.
Another way of telling is that the quote is indented slightly from the left compared to normal text. Hope that helps!
Kaylin88100ParticipantHey, these are great! Â I think I've seen Lillian before, did you enter her in a contest or something?Â
Kaylin88100ParticipantHmm…a 3rd gender sounds cool…
I agree that once someone's started playing with your idea, it's not really fair to then try and remove it – it would leave a hole.
Kaylin88100ParticipantLove the face on Vigilance!  The police logo is cool as wellÂ

i originally had made this as Charlemagne, but he can be Arthur, if you don't think he's too old. i'm not sure the sitting pose is perfect, either.
No, he's not too old, and I can't see anything wrong with the pose. I like the background as well  Also, props for being the first to enter, even if you didn't make him specifically for thisÂ
Kaylin88100ParticipantThanks MB! Feel free to steal the face idea, I think I got it from someone else anyway. It would be cool to see your take on itÂ
Kaylin88100ParticipantGot some cool stuff on here KaldathÂ
My favourites are the angels, I'm thinking of doing a series like that myselfÂ
