    Please don’t create a new thread each time you post pictures. Keep everything in a single archive unless you have a specific reason for creating a new topic in which case we want you to limit the number of topics you create in this section to two or three max. Please repost these pictures to your main thread “NHA247’s Creations” so I can then Delete this one. Thank you.

    Here is the deal. Jeff makes money off of Heromachine and this website. You the creators of the artwork would in all likelihood never see any legal issues with the artwork, as it falls under fair use for you goes to make it. However the Argument can be made and ( and has in the past as Jeff almost got sued once already ) that Jeff profits off the copyrighted material you post here and thus is open to legal actions himself. The fact that a RPG series exists in additions to the movies and books etc does leave the whole SW thing ambiguous I will admit and as I mentioned in FRM’s thread Jeff is seeking some advice on the matter from the Electronic Freedom Foundation, as I have already spoken with him on the subject.

    Until Jeff has a better understanding of what can get HIM into trouble we are asking that you simply leave out reference to SW from your character descriptions. We are not asking you to remove the pictures themselves at least not at this time, though I doubt it will go that far in my honest opinion. We are just trying to cover Jeff’s Legal backside from getting burned. Once we here back from the Electronic Freedom Foundation we will made our final decision the matter.

    I have unlocked this thread for a short period of time. Any comments about the current issue on SW copyright can be made here. Once Jeff gets Clarification and passes it onto me I will post that here also.

    Here is the issue. Jeff has in the past made money off of Heromachine ( selling copies of the program himself, then selling it to UGO ) and plans on making some money with it again in the future ( ads, and selling offline version ). Having made money off the program he then opens himself up to legal issues with regards to Copyright protected works and concepts. Its not that Lucas would or would not sue over these images, it is that the potential is there for a lawsuit. Jeff does not want to get sued even if he had a air tight defense against said suit it is not the road he wants to travel.

    I have spoken to Jeff about this, and he is seeking further advice on the issue so for the time being until he gets this clarified himself the pictures themselves can stay, but SW terms and references can not be used in there descriptions .

    For now, Please just remove all Textual reference to Star Wars, since the pictures are not of actual copy righted characters. I will bring this to Jeff’s attention and seek further clarification on the pictures themselves but think they should be fine so long as reference to SW is removed

    Tinker Gnomes are from Kyrnn aka Dragonlance, and is a race of Gnomes who Build Machines. The Problem is that these machines have a tendency to Malfunction is a spectacular fashion. However, there is a second race of Tinker Gnomes on a different continent of Krynn from the Main Gameing world that actually make very functional machines. Oh, and the Tinker Gnome talks very fastsothattherewordsallblendtoegtherintoonesinglewordlikethis.

    I would go on a variant of a Spell Jamming Helm. If you are not familiar with SpellJammer, it is a AD&D 2nd Edition outer space setting. The SpellJammer helms worked on one of two principles the first sucking magic energy out of a mage or Cleric ( uses up all that characters magic for 24 hours ) to provide the ship with power. The Mage/Cleric would man the helm and become the pilot. The second type of Helm is a LifeJammer, and it sucks the life out of a human/humanoid ( elf, dwarf, ect ) to power the ship. What I would do in your cause is take that principle and modify it to fit into your setting. OR you can introduce tinker Gnomes!!!!
