KaldathKeymasterI have just tried to export pictures from Heromachine, using Chrome, Internet Explorer and Firefox as .png files without a problem on all three browsers. Looking at your screen shot I note that you did not select a file size, neither in the standard or widescreen formats, perhaps that is what is causing the issue ? I will try to export without clicking a file size box and see what happens.
Edited to Add: I just tried to export without selecting a file size and was still unable to replicate the problem you are describing. I will pass this on to Jeff, however if he is unable to replicate the problem either then I am not sure what he can do about it.
KaldathKeymasterOk,
1) to change the layer of the insignia you have to make sure that, the insignia is the item you currently have selected. When you first add it to the drawing it is automatically the selected item until you click on or add something else. To re-select the item just click on it on the canvas. Once it is selected click on the transformation tab ( #1 in the picture below ) and you will see the layering control ( #2 in the picture below ) There is a button to move move the layer up one layer at a time and one to go down one layer at a time. There is also a button to move the item to the very top layer and another to move it to the very bottom layer.
2) To Mirror image an item, if you want two or more of the item, make sure you click the multiples button on each category of items you want muliples if you want just a single item leave it or change it back to single ( #1 on the picture below ). Then to Flip it you will again need to go to the transformation tab and you will see the flipping tools ( #2 in the picture below )
3) The lens flare and glow effects are done with variations of highlighting and shading, we affectionately call zyping around these parts. Here is a tutorial on highlighting and shading done by the HM Guru AMS: http://www.heromachine.com/forum/tips-tricks-how-tos-and-guides/how-to-highlightshade/ … Once you get the hang of it you can start to play around with the size and shape of the highlights to create different effects.
4) and Lastly here is a tutorial on how to post your characters by yours truly! http://www.heromachine.com/forum/the-heromachine-art-gallery/how-to-post-your-character/#p2302
KaldathKeymasterI am glad things are working for you now! If there are any more issues please let me or HammerKnight know and we will bring it to Jeff’s attention!

KaldathKeymasterWhen you click on the view existing file button does it show a popup menu with a folder marked 2012 ? If not do you have any popup blockers enabled ? If you are seeing this folder click on the writing not the folder icon to open it and it will show a bunch of folders with the numerical value for the month that you uploaded a file in this case 10. Again click on the writing not the icon to open it and your file should be in there.

I’m a bit new to this so I hope I’ve done this right.
You just need to add the text string so that people can get the image you created on there own computers. To get and save the text string here is a tutorial made by our own talented Kaylin88100 : http://www.heromachine.com/forum/tips-tricks-how-tos-and-guides/kaylins-tutorials/#p9836
and to see how to post that file to the forum here are instructions written up by the Bald Avenger himself Jeff: http://www.heromachine.com/forum/the-heromachine-art-gallery/how-to-post-your-character/#p9634
KaldathKeymasterWell I did report the issue to Jeff earlier today and saw that he was on the forums for a while afterwards so perhaps it was fixed, or just a momentary gremlin in the system!

I was having problems uploading TEXT files for Custom Backgrounds and Companions. For some reason, the “View Existing File Uploads” button does not work in the Custom Items Archive Forum. It works in this Forum as well as my personal Forum. So I simply copied and pasted the links. While trying to figure out why TEXT files were not loading, I uploaded duplicates. Anyway to delete the dupes?
Anyway, for the time being, there is a workaround. I edited my posts in the Custom Items Archive to include the TEXT files. You can find them in Backgrounds and Companions. Enjoy!
I am not sure what was causing you to have problems adding your text files to your backgrounds, however I just added a background of my own and did not experience the problem you did. What browser are you using ? Also can you try again to add a new file to the custom item forum and see if you are still experiencing the same problem ? If you are or if anyone else is having this same issue please let me know right away and I will bring it to Jeff’s attention.

Hi Kaylin,
Thanks for the answer/reply. I’ve seen poses with png at the end, are they supposed to be saved like text and loaded like same?
I really like HM even if all I can do right now is do basic bodies and color ’em in.
Thanks again.
The Text files are not the .png files, those are the actual attachment files for the pictures themselves as .png is a image file extension. If you look at the last pose that Worf posted in this thread you will see a hyperlink near the bottom that says “download woman-back.txt” that is the text file and you should click on that to get the file for that pose. Just look for similar hyperlinks in this section of the forum to get the poses you are looking to try.

Hey guys I have an question. Im looking to make my own Thor character but I wanted to make sure it isnt crossing the copyright line. Iv asked the question on yahoo answers and people say as long as it isnt the same character then im clear. And to be clear he will have similarities, the magical hammer, super strength and the lightning control. And as hes a Norse god in real mythology he cant technically be copyrighted only the one thats created can, so what do you guys think?
Thor himself is not copyright-able, only the Version of Thor that Marvel has created. So long as you are not making him resemble the Marvel version. In fact the Mythological Thor is usually depicted at a red head with a red beard, and not a blonde like Marvels version.
