KaldathKeymasterA Little Bump to this thread to remind people it is here since we have some new people here. This thread is completely optional and you can post as much or as little ( or none ) information as you are willing to share with the rest of us. I made the first post in this thread but a short recap. I live in Jackson New Jersey and work at Six Flags Great Adventure working overnights as a Member of the Park Service Department ( Janitorial ), Though I used to be a Security Officer there for a couple years before deciding to change departments.
Here is where I work:
KaldathKeymasterAnd here is a second attempt after some fiddling
KaldathKeymasterHere is my attempt at a Male Dwarf
KaldathKeymasterHigh Fantasy Novel Questions would be nice
Two quick example questions off the top of my head:
In the Dragonlance War of the Lance trilogy what was the Name of Tasslehoff’s Famous Uncle?
In The Wheel Of Time Series who are “The People Of The Dragon”?
KaldathKeymasterI don’t keep bios on my characters, but I have gone a bit overkill on keeping copies of my character art. I have all my HM pictures saved on my computer, to my Google+ account, my Facebook Account, Photobucket, and my Box.net account.
KaldathKeymasterJust to add to what HammerKnight has said above. I can be reached either here on the forums via Private Message or you can email me. My Email address is listed in the About Kaldath Section of any and all Posts I have made on the Blog part of the website: http://www.heromachine.com/ . If you are sending me a picture for my approval before to my email please Insert the image into the mail instead of sending it as an Attachment as I don’t like opening attachments from unknown senders.
KaldathKeymasterThat is correct. Call them Energy Swords, Laser Swords, Plasma swords, what-have-you just don’t call them Lightsabers unless you are putting a Star Wars RPG character on display. However if it is a RPG character I want to see words similar to “Here is my Star Wars RPG character” or ” This is _________ the character I played in my friends Star Wars campaign “
KaldathKeymasterAll I ask when people post a SW themed character is to either avoid using Terminological such as lightsaber, Jedi etc OR if the character is a RPG Character those Terms are allowed with the provision it is Clearly stated in the post that it is indeed a RPG character. It may seem silly to require such but this is to protect Jeff against legal troubles down the line. Especially now that Disney owns the Rights to all things Star Wars. Mr. Hebert had already had trouble in the past with either Marvel or DC ( I forget which ) trying to shut Heromachine down due to the programs potential to allow copyright infringement.
KaldathKeymasterprswirve please read this post I made yesterday http://www.heromachine.com/forum/the-heromachine-art-gallery/no-copyrighted-material/page-2/#p19198 …. Especially the second paragraph.
KaldathKeymasterdansjoy, do not post your characters in this thread. This thread if for Hero Of The Month Nominations only ( and you can not nominate yourself ). To post your Characters go to the Art Gallery section and create your own thread there to post them, …. I am going to be deleting your post from this thread.
KaldathKeymasterI discovered a post today that was made back in November that someone made it past HammerKnight and myself that I deleted today for Copyright reasons. I Mention this only because I want to make something clear to the community from this point onward. Simply changing a characters costume coloring and or making a tiny alteration to logo/symbol of the character does not constitute an original character and will be deleted from these forums. If you make a red Darth Vadar it is still Darth Vadar , a Pink Superman is still Superman ect. Please don’t try to slip in copyrighted characters in this fashion.
Also I want to address something HammerKnight and myself have been seeing in regards to Star Wars characters. When these forum were first started there was a discussion on weather to allow Star Wars like characters to be posted here. We at that time decided to allow them so long as they were original characters and no mention of the Star Wars Universe was made, ie; No mention of Jedi Knights, Stormtroopers or any other Star Wars terminology. After some further discussion on the matter it was decided that characters Specifically made for the Star Wars table top role-playing game would be allowed to be recognized as such and Star Wars Terminology allowed so long as mention was made in the post that it was indeed a RPG character. As of late we have been seeing a great deal of envelope pushing on this issue Star Wars’esque Characters mentioning things such as being a Jedi, or a Rebel Pilot but without the “RPG Character” tag anywhere in the post. Until now we have let it go except for the occasional warning that the poster was getting close to breaking our rules. Well As of today as of 12:30 PM Eastern time any new posts made that Mention Star Wars Terminology but does not mention being a RPG Character will be deleted without warning
KaldathKeymasterCan you open the file in a photo editing software like photoshop ( or similar software )? If you can, then simply click the save as option and change the file format. I would also suggest saving as a .png as that format tends to save a cleaner crisper image, I only save my Heromachine creations as jpeg if saving them as a png will make the file size to large to upload here. If it won’t open in photoshop then I am afraid I have no suggestion on what you can do at this point.
