    Royal Paramilitary Guard

A special elite taskforce of the British Armed Forces, sent to do all the jobs that no other unit can do.
    LtR:
Rory Danielson: The teams’ “tech wizard”. He coordinates missions using his World Analytical Network Database system and will often be deployed to put his hacking skills to use. He can also summon support for the team using his system.
Radhika Desai: A dangerous assassin, Radhika prefers to fight close quarters with blades, rather than using guns. She is deployed to take out specific, high value targets with utmost efficiency.
Claire Tarrent: Given the nickname “Barbarian” due to her size and strength, Claire is the team’s muscle. She is often the front line for the group, getting them out of sticky situations.
Piotr Krawczyk: A legendary army ranger, Piotr is deadly over long distances. His sniper skills second to none, he takes out targets with surgical precision.

Layton Mccoll: The team medic, Mccoll is probably the least experianced of the group, but he makes up for it by being a first rate combat medic. He’s so good that his team-mates often joke that he’s using magic rather than medicine.

    Raunen

The world’s premier assassin, Raunen is trained to perfection, able to weild anything as a leathal weapon. This combined with his inhuman healing ability (which allows him to shrug off injuries that would kill even the toughest normal person) makes him an almost impossible foe to fight. Of course, his services don’t come cheap and he won’t take just any job. He specialises in a particular kind of target; superheroes.

    Alaya

Powers: Force Field Projection, Levitation, Minor Telekinesis, Peak Human Agility/ Reflexes

Bio: As a superhero, Alaya wasn’t one of the most well known in the business. She was minor league at best and only scrapped with low level supervillains and street thugs. So, when she disappeared, all but a few people just forgot about her. Then she returned and everyone knew about it. Equipped with enhanced powers and a new meaner attitude, Alaya turned her back on her previous heroic ways, deciding that if nobody cared enough about her to notice she was missing, she would make sure that they noticed her now.

    Vector

A technology thief with advanced hacking skills and the ability to teleport. Often works alongside Cyber. Vector gets them in and jams up the system security, whilst Cyber goes into the system and takes whatever data they’re after.

Originally a prototype suit of protective armor created for search & rescue and bomb disposal work in warzones, the prototype was stolen and has been used by many different criminals for their nefarious ends. The suit is blast-proof and the shoulders hide a mechanism that can unch the arms of the suit forward with enough force to smash through a foot thick concrtet wall, so it is unsurprising that the suit was highly sought after by criminals. It always seems to find its way back into the hands of professional criminal Charles Urban, who nicknamed the suit Copperjacket and is by far the most notorious person to have worn the suit, even using it to fight The Protectors at one point (although it was not a fight he would win).

Anyway, back to normal stuff now.

    Ataraxia

Able to influence the emotions and mental states of people around him and people he touches, he mainly uses his powers to induce a state of tranquility and contentment into people. However, this is not out of any altruistic motive. It is easier to control people if they feel like they are benefitting from what is happening to them and the happier people are the more they will do to keep hold of that feeling, even going to extremes.

Quick interlude for a contest entry (haven’t done one in a long time), a fantasy reimagining of Melisa Meier as a fantasy warrior or knight (yeah, I know her hero name is Paladin, but she doesn’t have any healing powers, so she’d just be a plain old warrior class, al-be-it a very fancy one with white armor).

    Valravn
Powers: Superhuman Strength/ Speed/ Reflexes/ Endurance, Flight, Intangiblity, Razor Sharp Claws, Minor Mind Control (can influence people to do certain things and/ or make people see things that aren’t there)
Nothing is known about the person known as Valravn. The creature that is their namesake is a terrible animal from Norse Mythology, a cross between a raven and a wolf, possessed by a soul seeking redemption but also causing horrific acts through their great malice. Whether or not Valravn is a soul seeking redemption is up for debate, but they keep in line with the legend by commiting some truely horrible acts of violence. Despite many encounters with the heroic community (most often Harpy and Harrier), Valravn has never been caught. One interesting thing to note is that they only appear at night and have been seen to literally disappear at dawn. As with much to do with this villain, the why and how of this remains unexplained.

    Name: Lance Walker

    Alias: Harrier

Powers: Superhuman Strength/ Reflexes/ Senses/ Stamina, Enhanced Healing Factor, Flight

One of a pair of superpowered twins born to high priced attorney Laurence Walker, Lance is the younger of the two by about half an hour, something his sister Leigh never lets him forget and will often tease him about. More straightlaced and serious than his relaxed and cheerful sibling, Lance ended up following his sister into the world of superheroics out of fear for her going too far and needing someone to be the voice of reason. Lance definately takes his heroic activities very seriously, he sees them as a means to an end and a good way to ensure that justice is done if it can’t be dealt in his day job as an attorney. Unlike his sister, Lance joined his fathers law firm straight out of university and has worked his way up to being the firms star lawyer, having won numerous high profile cases. He does sometimes feel guilty about some of the clients the firm takes on, he has had to defend some pretty unsavoury characters before simply because they can afford to pay him, but he is more pragmatic than his idealistic sister and believes that justice will always be served in the end, whether in the court or not. His biggest fear is that his dad will find out about the twins vigilanteism, of which he would most certainly disapprove.

Random Extra Fact: Lance is gay. Though his father was “resistant” to the fact at first, he has since come round and has instituted a policy at the firm that none of their lawyers will defend clients accussed of hate crimes or other illegal prejudicial acts.

    Name: Leigh Walker
    Alias: Harpy
Powers: Superhuman Strength/ Reflexes/ Senses/ Stamina, Enhanced Healing Factor, Flight
One of a pair of superpowered twins born to high priced attorney Laurence Walker, Leigh is the older of the two by about half an hour, something she will never let her brother Lance forget if ever the time for some playful teasing comes up. More relaxed and cheerful than her straightlaced and serious sibling, Leigh was the one who came up with the idea of the pair becoming superheroes and is definately the more enthusiastic. Though she does have a very strong sense of justice, she finds superheroics to be more of a fun aside that helps fight crime, whilst her day job as a public defence attorney is where the real justice can be dealt. Her decision to become a public defender, rather than joining her fathers’ law firm like her brother, did cause some tension within the family, a fact not helped by her claiming (to her fathers face) that private lawyers don’t give people justice, but protect the rich and powerful from facing it. She has set herself one single, simple target for her career as a superhero, to take down the head of Criminal Enterprises, the multi-billionaire stock broker and head of the Mason Corporation, Charles Mason.
Random Extra Fact: Leigh wears glasses at work, even though she doesn’t need them. She’s found that she gets taken more seriously when she wears glasses.

Nice start. I like how you’ve shown off her powers, very clever.

As for how to put the image in the thread, best way to do it is (once you’ve submitted a reply on the thread): open the image in a new tab, edit the reply, copy the url for the image, click on the insert/ edit image widget (the thing on the end of the top bar of the reply box that looks like a little clip art of a sun over some mountains) and paste the url into the source bar, ok that and then resize the image to preferance and resubmit it.

    Hope this helps.

    Harpy and Harrier
So, these two. Around 2 weeks ago, I posted on my Deviantart page that I was redesigning King Hawk and Queen Eagle and wanted suggestions on what to change their names to (as those original names are objectively crap), and I got a few suggestions, but it was AMS who put me on the path that I eventually went down (although I went with the name of an eagle + another different genus of raptor rather than hawks as he suggested). Now I designed Harrier (formerly King Hawk) first and went with a design inspired by my character Condor from a few years ago. Then I went a gave him the colours of the last redesign I done and it came out as Bird-Themed Uber American Patriot.Character, which wasn’t what I’d intended and super doesn’t fit the character. I messed around with a few variants, including ones based on the plumage of birds of prey, but nothing really worked, so I ended up going back and just running with the original colour-scheme with some minor changes (most majorly, changing the legs to be white instead of black, to fit in with Harpy’s design). Both colour-schemes are still a little “America Bird”esque, but what can you do?

One thing I will say is that I found inspiration for a pretty neat villain design whilst trying to come up with new names for these guys, so you all have that no look forward to in the not-so-distant future.

    Name: Aquara/ April Fisher

    Powers: Underwater Breathing, Fluid-kinesis

Thousands of years ago, at the dawning of human civilisation, the was a great city, the first great city, called Atlantis. Atlantis was advanced for its time, venturing out and exploring the wide ocean around them, and that drew attention. Their city was close to a seal of a Deep One colony and, in their exploratory zeal, the Atlantians awoke them. The Deep Ones saw an opportunity to free themselves and sank Atlantis, mutating the inhabitants to be more suited to their new underwater realm. However, the Deep Ones did not anticipate the effect that their actions would have on the Atlanteans, who saw their city’s fate as punishment by the gods for transgressions. Fearing further reprecussions, the Atlanteans ceased exploration altogether, dooming the Deep Ones to remain trapped, only able to lash out and cause the Atlanteans further destruction as the former humans cowered behind new superstitions and ancient beliefs. That is, until the last of the awakened Deep Ones finally succumbed to time. But still, the Atlanteans stayed, hidden in their sunken city.
Aquara was born a Princess in Atlantis 18 years ago, however, her birth coincided with a dreadful civil war in Atlantis, between those who wished for Atlantis to explore outside the walls of their city and those who feared the old legends. Fearing for her daughters life, the Queen of Atlantis hid her newborn child, but was discovered and killed, with Aquara being lost to the sea. Fortuitously, whether by luck or some divine intervention, she washed ashore unharmed to be found by Arthur and Rita Fisher. The Fishers adopted the child, naming her April, and she grew up without knowing of her heritage. Well, until she was learning to swim of course, then it became pretty obvious. At first thinking she was just a superhuman, April tried starting a career in heroics, but as the Atlantean civil war began to affect the surface world, April’s heritage and destiny became all the more clear.
