JR19759KeymasterName: Alex (Alexandra) Kane
Alias: Shift
Powers: Biological Manipulation (Limited shape shifting, with focus can enhance one sense at a time, can control adrenaline output and other hormones to induce different positive effects).
Orientation: Transgender
Bio: Born as a girl, although he always felt he was born in the wrong body. Without enough money to undergo gender reassignment surgery, he struggled until his ability to manipulate aspects of his own biology became apparent, specifically his ability to manipulate his own DNA. He can now hold a male form almost indefinitely, only returning to his female form when under great emotional stress. He kept this secret from his friends ever since he joined PRIDE and has since started dating Chance.
Since Time Skip: Shortly after White Lie joined the team, Shift approached him for help. He confessed about his past and how he felt guilty about keeping it secret from his friends, but that he was scared Chance would reject him if he found out. So he asked White Lie to use his power to make it that he’d always been a guy. However, this backfired horribly as Shift’s powers reacted badly to the change, malfunctioning whenever Shift tried to use them and eventually going into meltdown due to the paradox. Unfortunately, this led to White Lie having to reveal the lie he’d told, exposing Shift’s secret to the rest of the team. Fortunately, the only bad reaction Shift received was that his friends were disappointed that he felt he’d needed to keep it a secret. Although his powers are functioning normally again now, he is finding it harder to hold his transformations and has to revert to his natural (female) form more often to recharge. Chance is supportive at least, so the problem isn’t as bad as it could have been.
Name: Sarah Stein
Alias: Shutterfly
Powers: Hyper-active molecular structure (super-fast teleportation and phasing, possibly even molecular manipulation if she were to sit still long enough to figure out how to do it).
Orientation: Pansexual
Bio: No-one in PRIDE exactly knows where Shutterfly came from. She just sort of turned up one day and didn’t go away. Normally this would be unwelcome, but not only is Shutterfly really useful in a fight (her teleportation ability meaning she can practically be in two places at once, a party trick she has pulled many times at the Safehouse), but her antics and energy helped the rest of the team through some of their toughest times. Hyper-active with a generally short attention span, when she does slow down she can actually be an incredibly insightful friend. She helped Manara find her place in the group and looked out for the rookie hero during their first few fights together. However, not all of the team are fully taken with Shutterfly. Nike views her as a bit of a threat to her status in the team (and in life in general), due to Shutterfly’s easy way with people and ability to connect with others without flirting, something which Nike has yet to manage with humans. Shutterfly just views Nike as someone else to be friends with.
Name: Tavio Fernandez
Alias: White Lie
Powers: Reality Manipulation (manifested in making any conscious lie he tells become true).
Orientation: Queer
Bio: Born in American to a Mexican family who had illegally crossed the border, Tavio lost his parents young due to local gang violence and was passed around the foster system for years. His teenage years didn’t go well, his emerging powers and uncertain sexuality making him many enemies. However, he met Chance through a mutual friend (one of the local foster care workers) and Chance took him under his wing.
Since Time Skip: The last two years have been busy for Tavio. Between exposing Shift’s greatest secret, to stopping R-Gen and Double Trouble from killing each other, to introducing Manara to the team, the kid has managed to find the time to graduate high-school and get into college, where he is studying Politics. He works a part-time job at Chance’s gym, helping out where he can. He has also come to terms with his sexuality, bi-sexual leaning more towards straight, but he prefers to classify himself as queer, as he’s not really gay, bisexual or straight, just somewhere in between all three.

JR19759KeymasterName: Nike
Alias: Nicola Palladou
Powers: Flight, enhanced healing factor and strength
Orientation: Bi-Sexual
Bio: An alien Princess from the planet Altar, crashed on Earth whilst trying to escape alien slavers and now stranded. She was rescued from her ship by PRIDE and joined the team in order to learn more about the world she was stuck on.
Since Time Skip: Nike’s cavalier attitude to relationships really caused the team problems in the two years since we last saw them. At that point she was dating R-Gen, however Nike started cheating on her girlfriend with Double Trouble (both of them. At the same time, obviously). This led to R-Gen trying to mind control Nike and then nearly killing Double Trouble. Unfortunately, Nike didn’t learn and began to become uncomfortably flirty with Manara, earning herself a beat down from Enabler after she refused to stop making the newcomer uncomfortable. However, Nike has had her moments. She saved her entire team from Kratos, her vengeful brother, as well as being crucial in foiling an assassination attempt by Ironside of the AnarchQueers.
Name: Jennifer Rudd
Alias: R-Gen
Powers: Extensive Regenerative Capabilities, Mind Control (through use of biological pheromones), Reactive Adaptation.
Orientation: Lesbian
Bio: A tomboy lesbian who was kicked out by her devout Catholic family and forced to live on the streets, where she developed somewhat of a fear of abandonment and being alone. She was later taken in by Enabler and Double Trouble as a member of PRIDE.
Since Time Skip: The last two years have not been good on R-Gen. First her father contracted cancer and refused treatment, dying some time later. This sent her into a depression which was only worsened when she discovered that her girlfriend, Nike, was cheating on her with her best friend, Double Trouble. At first she tried to force Nike to be faithful by controlling her using her pheromone powers, but Enabler and Double Trouble found out. In the argument that followed, R-Gen almost killed one of the twins by forcing xem to strangle xirself under the influence of her pheromones. As if to make matters worse, when Double Trouble managed to fuse, the ensuing fight nearly demolished the “Safehouse” and only ended when White Lie intervened. In the years since he joined, White Lie and R-Gen have become quite close, sharing a similar upbringing in Catholic households and both having to deal with life without parents, they developed a brother-sister relationship, and are probably the closest friends of the entire team.
Name: Kim Da-Hyeon
Alias: Double Trouble
Powers: Super Human Strength, Speed, Endurance, Resistance To Harm, Healing Factor (all halved when in split form).
Orientation: Intergender
Bio: The product of an experiment to create the perfect human, Double Trouble is one person in two halves, male and female, and can fuse these two halves into one superhuman being. However, xir amalgamated form is unstable, so xe can’t hold it for extended periods of time. When in separate forms xe can pass xirself off as twins and both halves can feel what the other is feeling and tell what the other is thinking.
Since Time Skip: Other than being the cause of a messy break up between two of xir teammates and almost having one half of xirself killed by one of said teammates, the last two years have been alright for Double Trouble. Xe fought what could be called xir “father” in the Negadroid (whose technology was used in the creation of xem) and managed to reconcile xir feelings on being artificially created. Xe also developed a new method for fighting, taking advantage of xir ability to fight as two people, giving the team essentially an extra person in a fight. However, xe doesn’t really like fighting in that fashion, as xe feels more comfortable in xir amalgamated form, plus the amalgamated form is as powerful as both split forms combined anyway.
(Hopefully I got the pronouns right this time. I bow to DiCicatriz senpai’s greater knowledge on this subject).

JR19759KeymasterName: Amanda Ashford
Alias: Enabler
Powers: Power Enhancement, Power Mimicry, Power Sensing
Orientation: Straight
Bio: Born by a surrogate mother for a gay couple who wished to have a family. Active campaigner for LGBT Rights. Formed PRIDE with Double Trouble after xe stopped an assassination attempt on her.
During Time Skip: In the two years since we last saw PRIDE a lot has changed. For Enabler’s part, the passing of the Gay Marriage Bill was a huge victory and she finally got to see her fathers get married. However, it hasn’t all been rosy. She was hospitalised during a battle with the Negadroid and was then kidnapped from the hospital by The Knights Of Purity, who tried to lynch her on video. They also firebombed her house after she was rescued by the rest of PRIDE. She has since relocated to what she calls “The Safehouse”, an apartment building owned by Chance’s uncle, where the rest of the team have also moved.
Name: Michael Chase
Alias: Chance
Powers: Probability Manipulation
Orientation: Gay
Bio: Former colleagic athlete, disbarred from competition due to his powers. Currently dating his team-mate Shift. Uncle owns the teams place of residence (unofficially known as “The Safehouse”).
Since Time Skip: In the last two years, Chance has had a few interesting experiances. He almost got himself killed whilst putting his powers to use in Las Vegas in order to gain enough money for him and Shift to buy a house, which he will admit was a dumb idea. He also found out his partners secret (which we will come to late). Fortunately it didi affect their relationship in any major way. Away from the team, he’s trying to get his own gym started. It isn’t going brilliantly, but luck can’t solve everything, hard-work is needed too as his dad always said.
Name: Farah Al-Mansur
Alias: Manara
Powers: Light/ Heat Energy Absorption/ Release
Orientation: Questioning
Bio: The daughter of Syrian immigrants, her family were killed whilst visiting family in Syria shortly after the civil war started. Farah was at college in America at the time so didn’t go with her family. However, the news of her family’s deaths awoke her latent power to absorb and control heat and light energy. Given the nature of her powers, added on to her Islamic heritage and her suddenly very withdrawn behaviour, she was shunned by many of her college peers and eventually, in a moment of heightened emotional stress, she lost control of her powers. Fortunately, she was stopped by PRIDE, whose member White Lie attended the same college and she joined the team, at first as an ally, but she soon began to develop feelings for another member of the team. She now constantly struggles, not only with her powers and their unpredictable nature, but also reconciling her feelings with her faith.

JR19759KeymasterIf you want my opinion dude, unless you were actually planning to try and make money from the character, don’t do anything. Marvel can afford much better lawyers than you and as haven’t copyrighted the character, they will chew you up, spit you out and probably counter-sue and get you to take down the character. I don’t believe that digital date/ time stamps count as evidence of when something was created, as anything digital can be edited/ tampered with, so it isn’t concretely provable. But I only studied music law so I don’t know about if the same standards are applied to literary creations.
We won’t do anything in terms of removing the character, so you don’t have to worry about that.
JR19759KeymasterGood to have you back dude, hope everything went alright with the wedding.
Saviours are still awesome.
JR19759Keymaster
JR19759Keymaster@djuby- Here’s a fact for you. If you were to win another contest, you will not only become the person who has won the most CDC’s of all time (you’re currently tying with AMS) but you’ll also have the same amount of contest wins as Atomic Punk, DeliriousAl, Headlessgeneral and Scatman combined. Or alternately, you’ll equal the combined totals of Candruth, Kaldath and Zyp. Just let that sink in for a second.
Even if you don’t care about winning, you have to say, that’s a pretty impressive win record.
JR19759KeymasterI agree with Rajah
JR19759KeymasterBows
JR19759Keymaster@Anarchangel- I can tell you what her favourite cheese is. It’s CamEMBERt.
JR19759KeymasterThere’s only one critique I’d have with the new version, which is that the ring on her left index finger is rather large and looks a bit unwieldy. But other than that, the pose is better, the shading looks much more natural, changing the lightning and energy for a circle keeps the focus on the character rather than immediately drawing the attention away, which is good. I love the use of the cape as a skirt to match with the pose, I like the custom top and the broach looks really cool. I also agree on the face being much better, she looks much more serious and badass. My favourite bit, however, has to be the wings. The effect you’ve got on them doesn’t distract from the rest of the character, it’s very subtle, but when you do notice it, it keeps the attention. Great work.
JR19759KeymasterAnyway. I’ve had an interesting last couple of days. Yesterday I managed to take the skin of half of my right palm so that was fun (’tis but a flesh wound) and meant I had very little movement in the hand I use to do pretty much everything. It was also quick amusing trying to take a shower this morning without getting my right hand wet. Luckily, my fingers do work. But judging by how many times I’ve had to correct typos on this post, they don’t work that well. Word of advise, doing what is basically a baseball slide is fine, so long as its not on gravel and as long as you don’t have your hand under you at the time. Actually, best not fall over at all. Because in a fight between you and the ground, the ground wins every time. And now as a segue, I’ve redesigned Sempi again for reasons.
