You’ve asked repeatedly for critiques–I want to see an ornate background from you. Your characters are great. It’s time to make a background with the same level of care. Your ‘Drunk Dragon,’ for example, is close to Pixar level while the fire he breathes looks more like it’s painted on the set behind him. You know, like maybe he’s breathing a tiny bit of fire in front of a photo-op cutout. I know you could have done better fire. Split is great, but what about the arena or ‘dugout’ behind her? Rags she wiped her blades on? Cheering silhouettes behind her?

Maybe you should start by making a boring-looking character reacting to a Delirious Al background.

Thank you. This one was difficult. Getting the stuntwoman to do that seventeen times took all my charisma. Laugh

It looks like I misread something a couple of pages ago: fire on hm is best done by varying between reds, yellows, oranges, using all three in varying translucency, changing x vs y, and a LOT of pieces while hiding the similar-looking edges however you can. The same hints with grays and browns work for smoke, which is great for hiding the fire shapes anyway. You’re coming along very well.

Glad you liked ‘Weird Miscreants.’ It seemed to be a good opposing name. For a leader, Brick, Blob, or Energy type?

Strange Justice is a good departure from the norm. Are their opponents named the Weird Miscreants? I’m looking forward to seeing them.

Right you are, prswirve. Chariots were armored, contained archers, etc., and may have sometimes been decorated to look like stone. Talk about your psychological warfare. “The land here hates us, sir! The castle’s outbuildings themselves ride into battle–must be made of local stone?”
(WHACK, thud) “I’ll not have superstitious cowards in the ranks!”
“He was right. I got shot by one, General.”
    “An arrow?”
“An arrow from a moving stone outbuilding, General.”
    “#$%^&*”
Mistranslations from one language to the next led the meaning through stone, etc.

–No one has seen the riders of White’s rooks and lived. They shoot from their perches as soon as they line up the shots.

Of course, no one is eager to be directly in front of or behind them either!

**Only one kind of fish looks brutish enough to be as powerful as a rook but still looks diverse enough to be traveling in exactly four directions at an instant’s notice. It’s a matter of how you look at it. Or how your eyes point. Oh, whatever.

Thanx, J. The secret to fire on hm seems to be use all the fire shapes you can multiple times, varying the color, shape, x, y, alpha. Scramble the order of layers contextually and hide the similarities between pieces as well as you can. If you can do that as well as put the fire where it ‘belongs,’ you’ll have good-looking fire.

mmmm? Body and legs staying as they are, grow the arms and hands and bring the head and all down? Eight heads to height, arms thinner than legs but just as long–the grid option helps.

Good first re-edit, though. Megan Fox in a duster look.Smile
