Uh–2nd class lever? Lever as in engineering and physics? A lever too bendy or indirectly applying counterforce? Not ’nuff said for me?

And so the question of the week is–why are ghosts so intense? There don’t seem to be any that just hang around, casually leaning against the wall . . .

I have a larger-than-life backlog as well. My backlog is scattered among several media. Do you suppose it’s easier or harder to have a backlog in just one medium? I’ve heard some good arguments both ways.

That reminds me of the high-ranking warrior in Avatar that put out the fire on his own arm AFTER ejecting.

Ok. Keric? Interesting choice. I hope you make an image of a video game with your choice of items sometime. I’ve seen enough of your work that I think you could make an amazing one.

Of this particular picture pair, Maaz’ mercenary makes it. Of course, an armored or cybernetic spidery alien mercenary warrior will always be cooler than a video game–and you can quote me on that. Smile

What kind of piratical slang would result from ‘S.S.’ standing for Saurian Ship?

Your backstories are surprisingly consistent in length. I realize that’s not necessarily a great compliment, but I’ve been noticing that mine are very inconsistent in length. Yours are always complete, and sound well-researched, as well–do you edit them for length or are you aware of the process of maintaining length?

Oh, all right. There are a few stories about how that million-parsec void started. Most of them boil down to some supernatural being getting mad or lazy or hungry. Of course that’s completely absurd. Obviously to have cleared that area would have taken about thirty black holes. And no one should believe that, because that void bends around the galactic center in an arc completely unlike a black hole or group of black holes would travel.

I’m feeling hungry myself. Probably just nervy about an upcoming interview. Where’s that coupon for a pizza with EVERYTHING?

    1. I’m still figuring out sleeves.
    2. more than one layer in for backgrounds, eh?
    3. I can’t seem to figure out how to make hands hold onto things convincingly.
    4. File naming scheme
    5. The werewolf form’s fur is weird because the item I used for it was some kind of hide wrapping.

For #4, be specific. The efforts you’ve shown so far tell me we’d like you around long enough to run out of generic names. Use the character’s name when possible. KS, then KSInWereForm, etc.
#2, YES. If you want to save time, check out the custom backgrounds and borrow till you’ve had practice with them.
All of your odd numbers could involve masking practice and experimentation. Keene’s sleeves have a good start; just mask something onto a transparent forearm (alpha to 0% on each color) and build a cuff out of something like neckwear. Hands holding something are usually best done in multiple masked pieces. –As for the fur, you might even mask parts of a furry companion onto a few appropriate shapes. Pretty soon people will be saying ‘who was that masking man?’ Smile

I would suggest ‘deforming’ the wrist band, making it out of a cape or something. It doesn’t look like it’s helping hold the weight of a guy. Maybe dulling the background a bit would make the foreground stand out more?

Well, I must say, if any question could work more like a black hole than ‘why,’ I don’t know what it is!

For this kind of a picture, I hesitate to give advice–the human mind might only see something like TanCred representationally.
If that’s what you’re going for, I might recommend that you PM Snail-Male. Otherwise, I’d have made the star’s rings brighter–bright yellow, white, etc.

–hey, is he nourished by answers? And do people remember them after he feeds? Smile

Man, what a topic! I don’t need to feel homesick . . . oh, well. [digs through some old photos]
Some of you have read me reference the Hairbrush Nebula. This is a shot of the Hairbrush (middle,) the Braid (left,) and the edge of a million-parsec-wide void.

This is a shot of the corona of T21, yellow gas giant. Remarkably stable, considering it’s stage.
    http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/u438/jamais5/HerrD-CoronalViewDuringSolarSailingTrip_zpsf9e84ad0.png

. . . this is a shot of an ice-ringed planet near customs for the galactic center.

This isn’t a photo of outer space so much as a reaction: “Captain? A new vector please?”

–But really, stars are just stars. The technology to move them or make them is COSMIC. And it scares more primitive cultures.

[parks dolly] I have you down as prepaid for a partial shipment? Here’s a note from the sender.

“I’m getting caught up in a few things again (didn’t have time to enter as many last week for example,) so I didn’t take this any further. Here’s some more stuff toward a 3/4 corset. Good luck with it. Herr D”

[Pushes two boxes off dolly. Next box stretches, yawns, settles back on dolly with a rumpling of brown paper.]

Wow. Thanx. Smile I’ve gotten a lot of enjoyment from watching who jumps on my thread.

As to Rod, that took a lot of time and startovers, so I’m not sure how long. His facial shape, wrinkle patterns, and eyebrows were non-standard, so I had to doctor them a lot. In the end, I wound up keeping too many reference photos available–I think I gave him older wrinkles and eyebrows and younger coloring. Ah, well, I have trouble with any subject matter I don’t understand as well. Human faces are TOUGH.

Oh, and I’m shipping you something ETPS. Wink
