Hey! My wife ‘Sunni D’ has the answer to whether deaf schizophrenics hear voices in their heads. They see signs. Just thought you’d all like to know. Laugh

@ Jeimuzu: Thank you. Velveteen is hard to get looking right!

I’ve been told everyone’s first day at a new job is rough. Learning ANY new boss means mistakes.

I imagine you could make a good case for hm3 versatility with my work. Go for it.

Two quick questions. Do they build most of their walls out of ice? Is their hide chameleon-like or is that just protective coloring that they usually have? As a bit of information, super-cooled ammonia and methane compounds (like Jupiter) can be the same colors as water ice, just they reflect other colors a little darker than water sometimes.

Nah, man; I already can’t even hear my OWN voice in my head, let alone ‘extra’ ones. Too much hearing loss from raising young. Such is the life of a modern human daddy. Excessive sleep dep, worry-related symptoms, hearing loss, and shoulder reflux. At least the shoulder reflux is on the way out with them getting a little older. Smile

–Wait a minute. If someone is DEAF AND SCHIZOPHRENIC, do they NOT hear voices in their heads? I mean, that would kind of be a dead giveaway that they weren’t real, right? I wonder who knows the answer to that one?

Oh, well; nice work on the Constrictor. Can he give gentle hugs too, or does he not have the control?

Diver or Swimmer DOES need a better name . . . some Navy men favor ‘sloppy’ acronyms in my experience. [looks around, pauses] Non-Terrestrial Intelligence, NTI, might become ‘Naughty’ and appeal to them the same way a certain ‘FBMR’ back in the ‘eighties became ‘Fah-Boomer’ and then Boomer.

As far as that armor ‘rolling back,’ you could have put a nick or something on and darkened the middle just a bit for that effect. Hanging a ‘broken fastener’ might have accomplished the same thing.

Story / blurb competition? I hope I’ll have time for that in January. I don’t NOW, but, here’s hopin’.

I would have been more worried you’re a ‘mechophile.’ You lost blood? Be extra careful with medicines, alcohol for a while–your dosage is automatically different. Get well soon, and make some more of these.

Is she going to lasso that mount? [checks marsupial pouch] Um? I could hold money for you guys. Eight to five the purple Kirin gets away from the cowgirl if she doesn’t shoot it? House only takes ninety-five percent of each bet? [looks around hopefully]

Now the Confectioner? That’s a face only a chocolate minion could love. As an interesting note, chocolate could damage your teeth BEFORE. Now they can kick your teeth out, too?! Man. [sniffs, looking longingly at a cabinet nearby] Chocolate is my favorite antidepressant . . . [turns hot tub on ‘boil,’ hops in] I better make this bath a long one. [pours in extraterrestrial salts] Is that the phone ringing? http://www.heromachine.com/wp-content/legacy/forum-smileys/sf-yell.gif

I at least partially disagree. That is a good hand pose, and not covered. Maybe you could send it to dblade to add knuckle lines and nails? [whirrs oversize drill] I’d do it, but I don’t have compatible tools at the moment? I could sketch a few things, too, but I’m so strapped and worried about unemployment right now that I should avoid paying Kinko’s to scan and e-mail for me. . . . That sounds like an assembly line . . .

Context. If you put him in a throne room or on a building or bodies or something behind him, he’ll look like a lot more. Secondary context would be making his pose slightly uneven, like he has a stronger or tired arm, or an offset stance.

Mike took the experimental serum. It changed his inner ear so that he couldn’t get dizzy. It gave him a high resistance to blunt trauma and slightly greater agility and speed. All the inventor knew was that it would modify the way his nervous system and skin used calcium–the inventor hadn’t predicted the plusses to Mike’s inner ear. Mike stitched Kevlar plates into a costume he made out of cloth he stole from an old backdrop. Then he inserted flexible ceramic blades in the tips and practiced some elementary gymnastics, mostly cartwheels.

@JR: New digs! Poifeck! WUBwubwubwub. [makes pathetic attempt at Three Stooges ‘happy dance’ with five tentacles, botches it badly] Naow, aye can does mye LAWN-dary! [tosses washboard in trash can after rubbing a Moe doll up and down it] Nyagh-nyagh-nyagh!

–and no they didn’t shade, they even had their mystical auras cut out most of the shadows. Wink
