Herr DParticipantThe theme of this block is interesting creatures. First up, the often mentioned, but rarely seen:

Jive Turkey frequently raised eyebrows in the nineteen-seventies. His vocalizations would disorient, his actions would confuse people, ruin property, and occasionally bankrupt businesses. And he could always claw someone or drop his belt buckle on their foot. . .
Much friendlier and more desirable, Glubbie attained celebrity status for a very brief time. One of her more ‘enthusiastic’ fans slowed her concert schedule considerably, causing the concert this picture is of to be her only benefit on Ohneegahtahee. Her litter was born with no complications, and maternal feeding has, by tradition of her species, put the rest of her musical career on hold. Lactation takes eighty to eighty-two of our years, so any Earthling fans she has won’t likely see any new material in their lifetimes.
–Anyhow, I think this was between the second and third set.

Herr DParticipantOuch–I was thinking of the wrong legend. ‘Hide’ a thumb inside the seal skin, then. As far as the background goes, sea is tough. Rocky promontories can be cobbled together for interesting shapes. Embiggened capes and hair do pretty well. That’s part of what I did for my ‘The 2 Explorers’ background. A vague ship shape hidden by fog is something you might do very well, based on some of your pieces . . .
Herr DParticipantYou might say this is just a parody of an old famous regionalism classic. Or you might say this is just a loving aging couple about to go get some dinner.

Either way, I’m not feeling too good about “American Gothic” right now, and I have NO URGE to water any plants any time soon.

Herr DParticipantCOUSIN! uh–I mean, good work. Nice looking aliens. Hope to see more of your exotic species soon.
Herr DParticipantAdding seal spots to the woman half works well. Personally I like a fading effect from body to body. I understand some people prefer a ‘lip’ or ridge of a third color between them. I’m afraid I don’t know what’s easier or more effective overall.
Herr DParticipantWhy thank you, Luc. Consider the dress a slip. A Freudian slip. I am proposing that this next be due on 1/5/13. That way we get back to approximately a week in short order. Unless ams objects, in which case he should post that info here. I am attempting to post this contest’s three pieces with an unfamiliar system and method, so if it fails, I will be posting next about 2pm Eastern.
These pieces are located in Belts Standard (links, shown at 200%,) Mouth Standard (broken tusk, shown at 200%,) and Backgrounds WordBalloons (Spiky blurb, reg. size.)
A word to the wise: I am prone to judge higher for unusual uses as long as I can tell they’re there without effort.December 26, 2012 at 10:08 pm in reply to: dblade’s Villainy and Valor Creation Contest #4: Madame Malevolent #16130
Herr DParticipantThe Fury blood made me think maybe she’d subconsciously want a Fury mask. And snakes are NOT flattering, but the mask is ornate . . .

Herr DParticipantNon-juggling Krampus would make a good Caliban from Shakespeare’s Tempest.

Herr DParticipantRaiders of Europa might almost be a pulp sci-fi cover from the fifties. Good work. What interests me most is the giant shark-squirrel thing. Pity it missed the chimera contest.
Herr DParticipantCongrats, Luc.
Well, Glubbie only had a brief solo career before nesting and traditional mother-sequestering, but many think that after her brood is weaned, she’ll make a comeback album. Of course, in eighty-three years, she won’t have many fans left.

This is a still from her only concert on Ohneegahtahee. Between 2nd and third set, I think . . .

Herr DParticipantYikes. I’m sorry, dblade. I didn’t remember specifically you only named CREATURES. I redid the card subject. Not enough time to reconfigure the whole thing.

Fun concept.
Herr DParticipantElvis didn’t JUST pass on, like most believe. He passed IT ON–to us. It is our duty, as artists, digital and otherwise, to inspire, to entertain, to educate, to enlighten.

Remember, he’s not throwing the mirror shades–he’s passing the torch to us.
Herr DParticipantArachnia Whatsitus. Good specimen. It probably won’t survive that hideous yellow and brown thing though.

Tune in next time, to Universal Biologic, to find out.
Herr DParticipantLuc! Luc! Grab that vorpal blade you just made and come here! We have to rescue the little blue guy!
http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/u438/jamais5/hm3/HerrD-TheWhatsitBug.png
He’ll never survive that hideous yellow and brown thing . . .
Herr DParticipantSo I never made pix for this story . . . I suppose I should before I write another?
