Herr DParticipantThe second is writer’s block. I haven’t been having as many ideas, and I’ve also been forgetting many of the ideas I’ve had in the past.
The third is that I don’t have nearly enough villains, and, as mentioned previously, I am having a hard time coming up with concepts.
Writer’s block is a vacation for me. My backlog is more of a backforest. With less ideas and villains, you should probably try heroes dealing with natural catastrophes. Hurricanes, earthquakes, volcanoes, floods, fires, and famines. Many characters are interesting doing what their superpower is unnecessary for.
Herr DParticipantHis kids would be Vegans. Nice work.
Herr DParticipantMinotaur is an interesting conundrum. I’m trying to imagine a sensible backstory for him to avoid doing other creative work at the moment. Did you have one in mind?
Herr DParticipantLovin’ the Tempest.
Herr DParticipantLovin’ these prizes, man. I can remember the day [mimes cane with tentacle] when the only prize was BRAGGING RIGHTS! It was uphill both ways to the internet . . .
Herr DParticipant. . . or make the perfect martini!
Herr DParticipantMAAZ?! MAA-AAZ! Hey, when you judgin’ man?
Herr DParticipantUhh . . . the same way you posted the last one? Welcome. Head shot looks good. Bio sheet looks nice. Which system?
Herr DParticipantI’d forgotten about ‘Mae’ for years. A man came to me and explained that if his pregnant wife was ‘good and rested up’ that the doctor said she could go trick or treating with their niece. They’d lost their home in a fire, and her estranged mother, dead a few months, had willed them her home.
. . . So I came in and visited two to three hours at a time as I could, giving them direction. The old lady was a chemo survivor, so her wig and her makeup went right on the papier mache headpiece, which was balanced and supported by a padded backpack. ‘Executioner-mask mesh’ made a great mask mouth and look-through. Mae’s own hair in a loose topknot for add’l padding and a few locks out through the mesh mouth. The good news is that though she went into premature labor the kid was born fine. The bad news is that the unused headpiece was destroyed when the kid flooded the garage as he started crawling. More good news? We found out as they cleaned up that it’s a good thing we didn’t go. The next door neighbors had a son go missing the Halloween before wearing an identical costume to the one we cut up for the arm and leg. More bad news? We bought it at Goodwill, and the police had no way of tracing what we gave them. Luckily our alibis checked out.

Herr DParticipantThat would be Nov. 1rst . . . and mine’s done.
Henry the concierge at ‘The Forester,’ five star restaurant, never got used to Jerry the midget waiter. Couldn’t fault him for service or skill, though; had to keep him.

The nooses were only cooking twine–I intended more but the pic kind of grew too quickly. The hair became frills for the bird and parts of the trivet and arugula bed under the seafood. The alien / head item became most of both trivets, the bird’s neck, most of the seafood claws. The secret here? I started this pic while hungry.

Herr DParticipant. . . was there a deadline? I’m really out of it. Maybe I misread it . . .
Herr DParticipantCharacterizing this week’s competition: genre portraiture. F=Funkmachine, M=Maaz There were no backgrounds, no backstories, and bonus for F, but not M. Most of the other categories were tentacle to tentacle, so it came down to items. The items: Every item was used for one point. Every item was well-placed and belonged for the second point. I’m all about the misuses. The ribbon-caption item seemed much more realistic (almost too subtle for me to pick out) in the way it shaped and flowed for Maaz. His character wore it better. The dagger somehow seemed less contextually and emotionally tied to the pic than the horns. (It might've been more of a difference, but part of that effect was dimmed by the 'bull' facing the viewer.) The stethoscope was what made the biggest difference. F's misuses may have left out the earpieces entirely, where M's helmet seemed a bit off. Then M went and made the holster straps! That was some excellent work. BTW, F's neckpiece was interesting and worthy of mention. M? Was this an edit of a previous work? Not against the rules, just asking. M! Pick 3, set a deadline. You win the round. Herr DParticipantCornelius belongs to that normally un-named clique, the Manipulators or the Framers. One of his favorite gags? Do something showy and stupid, claiming that someone threatened to beat him if he didn’t. Some of the teachers don’t believe him, especially that a bully might “tear off his [skinny jeans] pants” but somehow leave on his sneakers, but would rather play along than have to hand-write HIS full name on the detention slip.

Herr DParticipantThank you, K. I must say, it was a fun one to make.
This will be due 10/16/18 by noon. TBJ, hopefully before next day 3pm. Bonus half-point if the picture references old classic cars.
GO!

Herr DParticipantScalywag was attempting to act honorably, as the junior representative for the Scales Of Justice, when out of NOWHERE attacked ThunderMutt with his infamous Sloppytongue!
*The Alien tortoise-like head became custom lenses so the young hero can see in that dimension’s spectrum. The eyebrows became ears, though mostly deaf and used as blunts in melee, the alien leonine nose headpiece became the underside of the villainous supercanine nose (yeah, not really an abuse, but it inspired the rest of the pic,) and the Zombie eye headpiece became a surprised semi-reptilian mouth and ten of them became part of the hideously fuzzy body of the villain.
