Good blend of story and picture. You seem to have mastered the art of stopping sooner than your audience wants you to. I may need to study you.

–Well, the EASIEST clothes to put on him would be to color the body itself as if it WERE clothes. It already has the look of the less-than-well-appreciated form-suggesting spandex/kevlar armor featured in several superhero movies. You would then look in Insignia Tech for basic shapes to cover such details as you don’t want and downsize the hands, feet, and head a few percent. I usually type them in for a change below five percent.

More ordinary clothes would be started with multiple maskings, very good tutorials for which are listed throughout this thread and the ‘how do I’ thread. You would probably have to finish them with the same basic shapes or, as you get more skilled and familiar with the program, more innovative choices.

The same masking techniques are described well early in the custom pose threads, for example.
    Good luck.

Kaylin, you have more than earned the right to pick three items and judge entrants or name a willing judge if you wish. Traditionally, we’ve had a week deadline.

    1. Greetings.
    2. I’m placing a bet with myself on whether you do a jungle woman, fire woman, or an alien first.
    3. Good work so far.

Apr** I have actually edited in the end of Chapter 8. Ch. 9 coming soon. Having trouble with the remaining promised pic above.
Mar**I must apologize to those who are enjoying this. I have been more than swamped — Dismal-swamped? — and will be likely April before I get back to finishing Zephyr.

Which fellow said that? I may have to go look him up.

–O.W.? Thanx. Did love his work on H.G. Wells’ work–a bit TOO good, if my history is correct.

Came by, kicked a few tires–I must say, not many of us do both costumes and regular-looking people well. Makes the lack of backgrounds and action shots forgivable. I even see the twins’ family resemblance . . .

My dear, sweet entrant! You have very nearly duplicated the Tlug species. Most of them ARE lighter brown, but hey. For all those of you who don’t know–out in the Hairbrush Nebula, they have a high old time. Made of sugars instead of proteins, umbrellas are mandatory traveling equipment!

Kaylin! I had no IDEA you’d ever met one! Smile

*As my only entrant, it is your option whether to submit more pics with the new items or choose three new ones and judge.

Ouch. Sixteen feet in that first second, right? Normally we say a roll in the hay gets a teen ‘in trouble.’

As to those arms, from your description of the culture? I would say small, magical amulets tied on with leather thongs.
Your pic with the horns? I think you’ve done fine with everything, but I want to know about the horns! Did they originate from cultures that lock horns or just hammer? That might say something interesting about the way they developed culturally.

Eeee-ew. At least no one would normally let ME meet nobility. The furs look like a hug would be okay. Too many ways to hide poison barbs in all that fancy metal.

I am supposed to close this contest for the second time with no entries.
Let me try this a different way. Three items for pic, pref with good story by next Sat. midn E.S.T.
Item #1 (top left) Fonts / Runic — at least two letters.
Item #1 (top left) ItemRight / Music OR Energy.
    Item #1 (top left) Neckwear.

I am open to suggestions from anyone over PM. I like this contest and don’t wish to see it die.
