Dionne JinnMemberA quick piece for the currently running random name contest on the main blog.
My set of ten random names was:
Brain Vine
Ice Plastique
Lynx Panther
Nucleopunch
Sea Hand
Shadow Hatchet
Shrinking Negator
Trace Cancellor
Vermillion Nuke
Wolf SpookAnd here is the image I came up with. The Sea Hand is a powerful water witch, who can bring the ocean suddenly down on anyone approaching her island home even when the sea seems to be calm and peacefull.

Dionne JinnMemberThank you, Voel.
Here is a new version of the scene. I actually ended up leaving Yanez out of the picture, I don’t think there is enough room for him anymore… Instead, allow me to introduce the first image I’ve made showing Lord James Guillonk, Marianna’s uncle, who doesn’t appreciate his niece’s taste in men, to put it mildly. The image itself still needs some work with minor issues, but I simply can’t edit it on my laptop anymore. 255 layers are too much for the poor computer and I need a better machine to get the details right.
Dionne JinnMemberVery good representation in my opinion. Louhi is a rather fachinating character.
Dionne JinnMemberOh! My! God! I love Iku-Turso! I would love to have one in an aquarium It is so horrifyingly-monstrous that it is almost cute.

Sure I do. I like your Näck, too. We Finns have stories of Näck as well. I like your work on mythology.
Thank you!
I did not know you had him as well. I’m ashamed to say my knowledge of Finnish folklore is sketchy at best. Added you to the info text.Yeah, we do. I’m not that good with Finnish mythology either, to tell you the truth, but Näkki (Näck with Finnish spelling) I do know about.

Dionne JinnMemberThat “Molotov’s coctail” is neat. Nice work with Wastelander.
Dionne JinnMemberOkay. Cool! That is a perfectly sound and reasonable policy and shall be respected.
Dionne JinnMemberYou don’t need to bother to tell me what needs fixing with this image. I’m redoing it anyway. And I have other plans for positioning the men, so their way-too-identical posing is not going to be a problem anymore. Oh, and I have to say, I’m rather proud of that background…
Dionne JinnMemberThanks Hammerknight.
Next in order: A bit of venting and ranting. You folks here know the feeling you have, when you have put everything you’ve got into making an absolutely great illustration, and then realise that there is something horribly, almost uncurably wrong with it. Well… At least I know how it feels now… I was working on this new Sandokan image, but didn’t have The Tigers of Mompracem at hand for reference and had to trust my memory how the scene I was doing was played out. And my memory failed me! So I practically have to re-do the whole thing from half way through. *insert a group of suitably nasty swearwords here*
But on the good side, the image is guite nice:
Dionne JinnMemberThis might be an old strand of conversation, but did we ever get to anywhere about the issue of Star Wars based role playing characters? Or Dungeons & Dragons characters, for that matter?

Dionne JinnMemberVery nice work with Phoenix’s clothes, DinoMan! Impressive.
