CantDrawParticipantA two-for-one special, color contest and retro-verse character:
BIO:
During WW2, the French entertainer, Crimson Conjurer, was a spy for the French Resistance. Although she performed stage magic, she had no real magical abilities at all. Instead, she had the power to confuse minds and convince others of whatever she wanted them to believe using intricate hand and body motions.
BTW, this is the retro version. I hope to complete the modern one in time for the contest, as well.
CantDrawParticipantNot weird at all. I thought the perspective worked well on “Vandal”.
CantDrawParticipantvery nice shading
CantDrawParticipantWith her sister, Galinda, dead, Nimu is queen and inherits the Golden Power:
For mysterious reasons, she wields her new found power greater than any before, including Neela. As a result, Fea, the fairy queen, tells her the truth of the Golden Land from whence her power comes. The fairies are the secret guardians of that hidden place which was created eons ago to be a light in the darkness to come. By wielding the virture of that dimension to its fullest extent she is the true Faerie Queen and ruler of all Sumina.
CantDrawParticipantMan, that’s cool!
CantDrawParticipantI’m lovin’ everything you’re posting, and I completely forgot about mentioning Weird Miscreants’ until you brought it up, but I can’t take credit for any of your creations. They certainly are one-of-a-kind.
CantDrawParticipantCool idea
CantDrawParticipantWoohoo! I made it to post 300! Too bad not everyone is happy about it…
CantDrawParticipantI have two, one hero and one villain. For my hero, I’ve gotta go with my personal favorite, Penguin Paladin:
PP typifies everything I like in an HM character, posing, zypping, minimun amount of colors, facial expression, using items in new ways, and interesting story. I mean, you’ve got to be cool with a name like his.
For my villain, The Pelican, of course:
Like Kang the Conqueror, he appears in different forms depending on the time period or parallel universe you might be observing. So far, he’s appeared as The Pelican, Black Dragon, Oro (don’t think I had revealed that before), and one other I haven’t created, yet, but already have in mind for my double-take-verse. He is the ultimate bane to almost every hero I’ve introduced to the forum, and I think he’ll be around in one form or another for some time to come.
CantDrawParticipantThese are great characters! Love your work!
CantDrawParticipantKentu 2.0:
Kentu risks his life to save his love, currently known as Metal Demon. As he lays dying, Metal’s love for him resurfaces and releases her from the Scarred One’s spell. Because her heart is breaking, she not only cries tears, she cries blood. Her blood seeps into Kentu’s wounds, and the nanites heal his body while also de-aging him and creating new abilities. Now that the two lovers are reunited, they are ready to bring victory to Sumina.
I finally learned to use the spoiler! I’ll keep it handy for risque type stuff, such as this. Also, I realized when I was done I kind of had a sun-moon motif, thus the background. In a way, they are kind of the Sun and Moon gods of Sumina, at least this is the story that will be passed down to future Suminians. Another thing, my recent retro work helped me with Metal Queen, and I’ve liked how Dr. Silver, Metal insert-name-here, has evolved over time. Finally, I’m thinking of doing one or two other poses with them just for the heck of it, so you’ll see them again, hopefully soon.
CantDrawParticipantDang! ams beat me to the Fruit of the Loom comment. Anyway, awesome looking characters!
CantDrawParticipantHoly rain water!
CantDrawParticipantEveryone, “What’s the first?”
CantDrawParticipantThank y’all for all the great comments. I’ll return to the retro-verse, double-take-verse, an-excuse-to-do-two-versions-of-the-same-character-by-using-a-weak-storyline-verse after I knockout another Sumina character – Kentu 2.0 is coming (although, I still like 1.0 more).
