Speaking of which…my entry for the speedster contest:

Dr. Calico was a jealous rival of Dr. Silver’s and stole some of her phase-shifting technology. After a few modifications she was able to move at incredible speeds by phasing slightly out of our plane of existence. Now she is a techno-thief going by the name of Speedy Cat.
Hmm…what to do…I think I’ll make a more straight-on pose of both versions and let y’all vote. That sounds fun! I’ll do one skin and one covered (I’m thinking of going with gold, but I’ll experiment and see).Skin, although it wouldn’t be hard to make it one piece…hmm…I’ll think about it. Admittedly, I’m not sure I’m completely happy with the skin color. It definitely wasn’t right in the first one which is why I changed it a bit for the next. In answer to JR, I would call it comic book…er, I mean, quantum mechanics.

Stellar, aka Estelle von Truffle, is a high society “it” girl who was sucked into a R.O.W. (Randomly Occuring Wormhole) for no apparent reason and obtained the ability to change the density of her atoms. Of course, she has several super-abilities, including flight, super-strength, invisibility, invulnerability, and an increase in the size of her…ahem…other attributes. Unfortunately, it didn’t cure her of her anger issues, especially when she doesn’t get her way, which will eventually lead to her downfall in what is now called the Stellar Event.I’ve wanted to create a coming-at-you flying image for a long time. Fortunately, I came across a picture of Jade by Adam Hughes that was exactly what I was looking for. I created the fore hand first because if I couldn’t pull that off then the rest of the picture wasn’t going to “fly”. The base of the hand is the really flowy short cape with a few circles thrown in and the rest is shading trickery.
