CantDrawParticipantI want to be you when I grow up. Oh…wait…I’m already grown up. Well, then, maybe a nice parting gift…roll of cheese, perhaps?
Seriously, that plaque is fantastic – so unique. It always a pleasure seeing what you create.
CantDrawParticipantNow I have the pose, and that’s all I plan on doing until next week:

CantDrawParticipantDon’t want to beat a dead horse, especially one that has been rotting for a couple of months but I think this quote from Dylan Horrocks, author of Hunter:Age of Magic, sums up the issue:
“the superficial similarities are striking – but no more so than any number of other stories in the genre. As Gaiman has repeatedly said, he and Rowling were merely drinking from the same well. In fact, there was even a story in ‘2000AD’ (called the Journals of Luke Kirby) which came out a few years before the ‘Books of Magic,’ which was extremely similar to both the ‘BoM’ and ‘Harry Potter.’ This is a genre – and Gaiman and Rowling are both playing with the conventions of the genre, to different ends.”
CantDrawParticipantWell, I finished the sitting pose, so that’s two down and one to go. Here’s how it’s looking so far:
You’ll notice I made a change to her hair and the shape of her face. While doing the sitting pose, I couldn’t make the hair style work facing forward, so I changed it. For the finale, I plan on mimicking the pose in the middle but I’m hoping to put her gun in the foreground hand and give her a space-type helmet. Also, I think I’ll have the gun firing while she’s taking on fire which will hit some type of personal force-field. I probably should put some background around each pose, but I’ll figure that out later.

CantDrawParticipantThat flying monkey is amazing! The goatee is a nice touch.
CantDrawParticipantI’m going to do something I’ve never done, I think – posting a work in progress. I’m currently working on a redesign of one of my favorite characters of all time, Femora. I thought I’d get really ambitious with this project and do a three-pose picture, twice – one in her regular costume and one in her deep-space suit. I liked the first pose so much I’d thought I’d share the whole concept…that, and I doubt I’ll finish it this week.
The back pose is completely finished, possibly, and I have the sitting pose started. I plan on having a flying pose in the middle similar in style and size to the one showing.
Sorry Mad Jack, I originally had her wearing much less, but decided to go with the skin-tight suit, which, frankly, isn’t that much different. 😉

CantDrawParticipantYou can’t beat a double ax…I mean, seriously, if you’ve got one coming at you, you’re dead.
CantDrawParticipantThe name by itself just kills (pun intended? you decide). Seriously, I love the colors and design on this one.
CantDrawParticipantMaid is awesome! I love her look.
CantDrawParticipantI like Metal Jacket the best. The coloring and effects are really good.
CantDrawParticipantI like the back stories of Gordon and Salazar. Very interesting…
CantDrawParticipantI think if I were a criminal, I’d go in my pants if I came across him.
CantDrawParticipantAh…the circles. So mesmerizing…
CantDrawParticipantMy head’s buzzing with your insect characters…oh wait, maybe that’s something else. Anyway, both look great, but I especially like Luna Moth. That costume is really cool.
