Calvary_RedParticipantFacing an increasing number of pirates attacking US ships with advanced weapons form an unknown source, The US Navy developed the Oceanic Response Combat Armor. While the program was scraped in favor of recruiting a team of super powered individuals as a more cost effective solution, the prototype – piloted by Navy Seal Dan Whaley – proved highly effective and was kept in service.

Calvary_RedParticipantYou are good at this. All your pictures are amazing. I think “channeling [your] inner wish for t-shirt weather” really paid off. There’s a sense of warmth and flying-just-for-fun that is spectacular.
Calvary_RedParticipantThis one’s for my beautiful Laventia Rose.
Calvary_RedParticipantThanks, guys. I’m pretty happy with it myself.

Hmm, didn’t think of that but it’s a great idea! At least some of them could be indeed from alternate realities. Like Hardwire, who could be from an earth where all humans were infected with a nano-technological-virus and machines took control over them. Or Great Dane, who comes from a world where all humans have animal traits due to gene-splicing technology. And Grunt could be from a dimension where earth’s gravity is much higher.
It made sense to me, given the other-worldly look of some of them. Glad you like the idea. ^_^

Thanks! One might think that the same basic uniform for different characters would speed up the work , but unfortunately it was quite the contrary since I had to match them with the different visual angles, arm poses, body sizes, and even genders.
It paid off, they look great. The different insignia on each is a nice touch. Given their purpose and origin, I’m guessing they were assembled from different dimensions.
Calvary_RedParticipantAngel of Chaos, Greek god of HeroMachine.
Calvary_RedParticipantYou, sir, are awesome.
Calvary_RedParticipantUnion Jack looks awesome. And I love team Vanguard
Calvary_RedParticipantGot to thank Jeff, dblade, Mad Jack and the others who’ve been adding new items. I’ve been wanting to make Green Shield’s suit and armor for a while now*, and these parts are perfect.
Calvary_RedParticipantThanks for the kind words, everyone. It’s always nice to know when I’ve brightened someone’s day.
Herr D, it is fun to see the hits and misses of sci-fi. We’ve got about two years for hover-boards, right? ^_^
Trekkie, I certainly hope I’ll get to make a few more retro pictures, this and The Heroic are easily my favorite pieces. For me, the tricky part is finding a point were spare time and creative inspiration come together. I’m open to suggestions and advice.
JR, that really means a lot, though it think it’s a good example of why we have the poll – Vector Man earned that one. I’m glad people are enjoying the retro style though, I haven’t seen anything like it on HM yet, so it’s cool to know I’ve brought something different.

Uh–different timeline, alternate history, alternate universe, or typo? Even as tired as I am, I’m sure I didn’t dream fifteen years in my last nap!
Well considering the style, I’d say the picture is meant to be from the 50’s, when 1999 was the future.
You got it JR. I love how in the ’50s people imagined by 2000 we’d be flying to other planets and using computers that still ran on vacuum tubes.
Calvary_RedParticipantFrom the distant future of 1999 comes The Mammoth Metal Man.
Calvary_RedParticipantThanks, Rob. I agree about the gun parts, they make great vehicles.
