Little Charlie Greene grew up the son of a butcher, watching every day as his father, the owner of a private slaughterhouse, cut bloody meat apart. Something inside the boy’s mind made him fascinated with the rending of the animal flesh, and he began to hunt small creatures in the forest near his home to do the same. Over the years, the obsession became deeper and more grandiose, and Charlie’s mind fell farther and farther into a spiral of insanity.He started watching horror movies, and the final piece of his mind snapped. He now lives to kill, and delights in the gore and blood he creates. His parents were the first to go, then he moved on to many of the homeless in the slums of Caligo. He was apprehended and placed in the Thorne Hill Mental Institution, but he was one of the many psychotics who escaped when the supervillain Panik freed the inmates.
Charlie was abducted by the Gauntlet, a group of villains, and a microchip was surgically placed inside his head, giving the team the ability to control him. His hands were removed and replaced with two lethal chainsaws.

Will was a simple mechanic and the heartthrob of his small town of Rosewood, Arkansas. A representative from a company a few towns over came one day scouting for potential employees, and Will was picked as an applicant. But what he thought would be a job interview ended up with him drugged, laid out on a table, and cut open. He unwittingly underwent an experimental surgery that unlocked a section of his brain. When he awoke, he was able to control any electronic equipment or machinery in his vicinity. Gaston was a third-rate theater actor struggling to make ends meet. His life was almost in the dumps when he was given the chance to audition for a cutting edge new play by a revered playwright. But on his way to the audition, he was accidentally knocked in front of a moving car by the superhero the Raven. Gaston suffered many broken bones, but the worst injury was that the right side of his face was scarred horribly. From then on, Gaston was unable to get a part in anything because of his disfigurement. He slowly went insane, and broke into an abandoned theater and set up his home there, as well as his killing ground.His new gimmick, as Charade, is to kidnap influential people in Caligo and bring them to his play house, forcing them at gunpoint to act out the parts in his own twisted plays, all of which end with the death of every character. This is all in an attempt to catch the Raven’s attention and exact his revenge.

Lance began his career as Navy SEAL, until he was offered a job at the M.A.C.H.I.N.E., a clandestine government-funded organization specializing in espionage and assassinations. There he was given the codename King Cobra for his almost animalistic and savage love for the heat of battle. But he was ambushed and left for dead by one of his own teammates, known as Copperhead, and swore vengeance on the entire organization as the anti-hero Rage. He single-handedly brought down MACHINE, killing most of its members including Copperhead and seemingly himself. But he eventually climbed from the carnage, scarred and nearly dead. He went into hiding for a year, working out until he was at peak physical health and practicing as much as possible with his vast weaponry (he still had various underground contacts to attain such things and hidden arsenals all over the world). Will was an ordinary high school English teacher when he was abducted by thugs for brilliant but psychotic genetics expert Dr. Anthony Silva. Because many of his previous gene splicing experiments had failed, but he was convinced that human and animal DNA could be combined, Silva had created a machine that would bombard a human subject’s body with a small sample of blood from every known animal on the planet. As luck would have it, Will became Dr. Silva’s first unwilling subject. Will spent many tortuous days in Silva’s machine, enduring injection after injection after injection with almost no rest.And then, when he thought his sanity would finally break from the strain and the pain, the experiment worked.
The DNA that finally bonded and partnered with Will’s was that of a panther chameleon. Though Dr. Silva believed he had prepared himself, his minions, and his lab for anything, he was not ready for Will to suddenly vanish before his eyes. He rushed into the chamber, but when he could not find his subject, he angrily assumed that Will’s body had evaporated from the experiment. In truth, Will had pressed himself up against a wall of the chamber when he realized that he had become virtually invisible, thanks to the camouflage ability of chameleons.
He quietly escaped Dr. Silva’s secret underground laboratory and made his way home, slowly gaining control over the strange new ability he had acquired. He realized that he could even cause anything he touched to become invisible too. But he never thought to stay hidden. He resumed his job, not realizing that Silva’s goons were still prowling. They found him and Silva finally realized that his experiment had been a success. Will was captured again, and a chip was surgically implanted in the back of his neck that caused him to be obedient to Silva. He became the scientist’s unwilling source of income, robbing businesses and banks of thousands of dollars thanks to his camouflage.
But Will lucked out when the superhero team N-Force learned of Silva’s secret lab and raided it, freeing Will of his mind control and offering him membership when they saw his amazing power. He accepted their offer and spent a few tumultuous months as an N-Forcer, but the trauma his mind had suffered caused him to be stand-offish, volatile, and sometimes overly violent. He left the team and has been a solo hero ever since, swinging his nightsticks with savage fury and disappearing into thin air.

Juliet began her career as a sidekick to her father, hero Silk Shadow, who like her could blend into his surroundings due to a genetic mutation. The Silk Shadow, however, could also become intangible and fly, neither of which his daughter, nicknamed Chamelea, could do.Juliet soon learned that working for her father was an intense restriction on her desire for fun and mischief, and she began to resent their constant training and his perpetual disapproval of her as a hero. Eventually, Juliet ran away from home, deciding to use her ability to become almost invisible, as long as she stood still, to provide her with the necessities of life. And while she was at it, she figured she’d have a little fun. Simply stealing food turned into pranks against store owners and clerks, hiding in abandoned warehouses became the opportunity to make homeless people believe in ghosts.
With each passing day, Juliet’s drive for mischief heightened, until she ran into the Casino of Crime one day. She watched them almost flawlessly rob a bank, and decided that she must be a part of their brotherhood. She was accepted on a trial basis, but soon welcomed into full membership when she proved to be a real imp and asset to the group of villains.
