    Alias: Gavel

    Real Name: Jack Reynolds

    Genre: Superhero

    Powers/Special Skills: superior strength

    Special Weapons/Tools/Armor: enormous war hammer

    Affiliations: Chief Justice, Defender

    Other Aliases: none

    Status: active

    Bio:

Jack is the younger brother of the hero Defender (Jim Reynolds) and the son of retired hero Chief Justice (Rick Reynolds). Both brothers wished for little more than to live up to the legacy and the expectations of their hard-nosed, no mercy father, but little Jack watched his big brother fail because his heart was too soft. Despite the fact that Jim grew up to be a successful public defender and, later, a popular superhero, old Rick was never impressed by his older son’s affinity for compassion and sensitivity. So Jack followed closer in his father’s footsteps. He grew to be a massive man, and he adopted his father’s black and white view on justice and punishment. He became the hero Gavel, wielding a huge battle hammer and little patience for any criminals walking the streets of Caligo. Even now, though, at the height of his crime fighting career, Jack’s biggest weakness is the frequent disapproval of his father, who gives him much more discouragement than praise.

Gateway is the representative from Missouri in the 50. He has the power to create portals with his hands through which he can teleport himself or anything around him.Gateway is, as some would say, “a little off.” He claims that this is because his teleportation portals take him into and out of another dimension, a world where things are” just strange enough to mess with a human’s mind a little bit.”

    Alias: Garrison

    Real Name: Charlie Bernstein

    Genre: Anti-terrorist/Superhero

Powers/Special Skills: expert proficiency with virtually all types of weaponry

Special Weapons/Tools/Armor: impressive arsenal of various weapons

Affiliations: US Army, The Dogs of War

    Other Aliases: Armory

    Status: active

    Bio:

When 18-year old Charlie Bernstein joined the US Army out of high school, he had no idea what his future would one day hold. Charlie exhibited incredible proficiency with the use and maintenance of every firearm he got a hold of, and was therefore placed in a Special Forces unit under General Harold Rockford. The general saw such skill and potential in Charlie that he selected him to join an anti-terrorist team not officially affiliated with the Army. This unit became known as the Dogs of War, and Charlie received the codename Armory for his uncanny ability to pick up any weapon and seem to understand and effectively use it. Before long, he began to design and build new firearms never before seen, to be used by the Dogs. When the team disbanded after a traitor had infiltrated its ranks, Charlie continued to manufacture advanced weaponry, drifting into electronics as well as ballistics. Before long, he had invented the suit he now wears, including several retractable guns, bulletproof steel armor, rocket boosters, and more. He uses this gear to continue fighting domestic terrorism, though he is now no longer sanctioned by the government, or anyone else for that matter, going by the new codename Garrison.

    Alias: Gargoyle
    Real Name: Kevin Stedman
    Genre: Superhero
Powers/Special Skills: flight via wings, super strength, rock body, prehensile tail
    Affiliations: none
    Other Aliases: none
    Status: active
    Bio:
Kevin stood atop the St. Henry’s cathedral in downtown Caligo. It was here that he planned to end it. Fitting, that the house of God would be his final resting place. He had hated his maker for so long, this would be one final insult to the Lord.

He reached into the waistband of his pants and pulled out his pocket knife. He had spent all morning sharpening the damn thing. It would be his instrument of death, his ticket to whatever existence there was waiting for him. He stepped out into the night air, feeling the autumn breeze whipping through his hair and playing gleefully with his shirt. Beside him, a hideous stone creature squatted out over the streets below.

Kevin closed his eyes and sighed a deep sigh. His last, he told himself. He held the blade of the knife up to his throat. He hesitated, feeling the cold steel against the skin of his neck.

He pulled the knife across his Adam’s Apple, spilling his life onto the gargoyle. He choked on his blood for a few seconds, his neck craned so he could look into the evening sky, so he could look God in the face and by his act defy Him. Finally, his eyes rolled up and he collapsed onto the demonic statue beside him. Crimson flooded out of his throat on the beast as he slid down to the ground. Kevin Stedman died on that ledge that night. But as he did, the Gargoyle was born.

The rocky thing opened its stone eyes and looked around in puzzlement. It looked down at its hands, its chest, its huge bat-like wings.

    God had cursed him again.

Kevin’s soul resided now in the body of this mythical beast. He could fly, he had gained immense physical strength, and his rock body was almost indestructible. He soon realized that he had been wrong to rebel against God. This had been his destiny from day one. He could right his own wrongs now, and end the wrongs of others. He could protect the weak and the fearful. He was God’s weapon against evil. He was fear in villains’ hearts and doubt in their minds.

    He was the Gargoyle.

    Alias: The Gardener
    Real Name: Jared McKay
    Genre: Supervillain
Powers/Special Skills: able to rapidly grow and control plant life
    Special Weapons/Tools/Armor: none
    Affiliations: none
    Other Aliases: none
    Status: at large
    Bio:
Jared was a botanist who invented new ways to grow larger, healthier, more productive plants. His crowning achievement was a serum that, when applied to plants while watering them, would make them grow over five times bigger than their average growth. But before he could patent the serum, he accidentally dropped a tube of it, breaking it and spilling out its contents inside his greenhouse laboratory. The super-oxygenated air mixed with the liquid to form a noxious gas, which Jared inhaled. He almost immediately went insane, but the gas also gave him the ability to mentally grow and control plants in his vicinity. He began to use this power to wreak havoc on the streets of Caligo, and has been a nemesis of the Raven’s ever since.

Powers/Special Skills: peak physical condition, expert with small fire arms

    Special Weapons/Tools/Armor: various small arms
    Other Aliases: none
    Status: active
    Bio:
Paul grew up in the slums of Devil’s Porch, the “wrong side” of Caligo. Like so many of the youth in that area, Paul saw little choice than to join one of the many brutal gangs that fought for control of Devil’s Porch. But he soon learned that his younger brother Eli had joined a rival gang, though the boy was only 11 years old. Paul threw down his colors and rebuked the gang life, vowing to make something of himself to be able to legally and honorably support his family. That very night, Eli was gunned down by Paul’s former gang. Infused with vengeance and rage, Paul dedicated his life to ridding the streets of the violent gangs that plagued the innocent. He called several contacts and came into possession of a veritable armory of firearms, which he now uses to fight injustice in Devil’s Porch as Gangbuster.

There is something behind it. I’m adding these characters alphabetically, so you probably just haven’t made it past the letter “A” yet.

He wandered for days through the city, trying to learn his identity, until he was found and taken in by Dr. Bernard Lamier, a physics scholar at Brainstorm Industries. The Galvanized Man has not joined the fray as a superhero, but he has been taught to be gentle and kind by Lamier, so it may only be a matter of time.

Andrew’s body not only eliminated the disease, but it suddenly became endowed with incredible strength.

For much of his teen years and early twenties, Andrew, then code named Galahad, fought alongside the Round Table, a group of Camelot-themed British superheroes. At the age of twenty-four, he was recruited into the newly-founded team known as Her majesty’s League of Heroes as John Bull, a fictional character who embodies the very essence of England, much like Uncle Sam in the U.S. Andrew rose through the ranks and after 10 years became the League’s leader. He has recently resigned from the squad and become a solo hero, protecting the citizens of London from evil. He is also a valued advisor to the Minister of Defense.
