AnarchangelParticipantI love your faces ams. They’re always so full of character.
AnarchangelParticipantLast night I had a bizarre dream about Jett and Bones fighting a super strong woman on a train with a trap door in the bottom of it for some reason. (Jett shoved her through the trap door and she went tumbling along the tracks)
This is my best representation of that character. Weird hair and all. This is Epica.

I like the top, great costume design
I had a very specific image of that top in my head even before I started. Unfortunately I couldn’t pose her how I wanted to and get the top looking how I wanted it. Plus I suck at posing.

Great shading! Very subtle, but striking.
Thanks. I’d like to think I’m getting better at shading. Not a lot better but still…
AnarchangelParticipantLast member of Payne’s team (for now) the speedster and narcissist, Jett.
Jett is quite open about the fact that she enjoys being a criminal and if it wasn’t for the boots designed to clamp down on her legs if she goes off the proverbial rails, she would still be robbing banks and living large.

I, personally, think the second version of Swift looks better, but they’re both amazing.
Thanks. Yeah, I was leaning more towards that one myself.

Bones is cool but Swift is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!
Thanks
AnarchangelParticipantBones is a killing machine. And some people believe the machine part may be literal. As a former spec-ops commando from one of the worlds best units, Bones is capable of taking out dozens of men on his own. His skill on the battle field is so well known that it wouldn’t come as a surprise to many to learn that Bones is actually a meta-human (super human). What would be surprising to most however is that his meta-human ability is actually to heal the wounds of other people.
After leaving the special forces Bones put his training to good use. In bad ways. He became a masked vigilante, acting as judge, jury and executioner to those he deemed to have broken laws he seemingly made up in his own increasingly unstable mind. He began to actually enjoy causing pain and even learned to use his natural healing powers in reverse, literally draining the life from people.
It took the combined efforts of several heroes to finally bring the increasingly deranged vigilante to justice. He managed to engineer his own breakout several times and on the most recent such occasion, Bones encountered another healer. A far more benevolent mind than Bones, she used her powers not to heal the vigilantes body but his mind.
Returned to prison once again, Bones has been freed of his desire to inflict pain upon others and has even been convinced to use his ability to heal for its intended purpose. For now, Bones has been placed on Payne’s new team as a test of his desire to genuinely do good.
AnarchangelParticipantThis is just a minor cosmetic alteration to Swift, mostly to balance out the colours a little better but I can’t really tell if it’s better or worse than the original.
Opinions anyone?

That head piece is nicely done. It is never easy to fit items to turned heads.
Tell me about it.
AnarchangelParticipantAms, I think I love you–I mean your characters….I love your characters.
AnarchangelParticipantSwift (a.k.a The Cardinal) is an English hero turned villain turned hero again. Or at least he’s trying to be a hero again. His violent outbursts and peoples tendency to mockingly refer to him as a “giant chicken” aren’t exactly helping matters. Luckily he has Payne around to crack his skull like an egg if he ever falls back into his criminal ways.
I’ve been meaning to create this guy for a while now as I was suddenly struck by inspiration for his helmet/mask/whatever the hell it is, but life kept getting in the way. Pretty proud of this one as it’s one of those rare occasions where the end character turned out pretty much exactly how I imagined it. Although I would have liked to have a more rounded edge on the “beak”.
AnarchangelParticipantProbably best to avoid mandibles altogether. The superhumans with insect characteristics of Dragonfly’s universe already have a pretty bad rep. Scaring the crap out of everyone probably wouldn’t help matters.
AnarchangelParticipant@Weilyn said:
He looks really cool!
Perhaps the mask could have some sort of wasp-like mandibles. That’s certainly what comes to my mind when I think of insect faces.
I did play around with some stuff like mandibles around the jaw area but nothing really seemed to work. Plus one of Dragonfly’s closest allies is a wasp themed hero (Vespa, who’s around here somewhere) so it’s probably best to not use wasp characteristics here.
AnarchangelParticipantOr how about a not entirely faceless mask? This one doesn’t exactly scream “insect” but then neither does the other one.
Oh well.
AnarchangelParticipantBeen tinkering with Dragonfly‘s costume in an attempt to make him fit at least slightly better into the whole insect theme. I mostly just changed the mask and goggles into a helmet and gave him some kind of jacket. I considered giving the colour scheme a complete overhaul but at this point, the character has so much history and his look has become rather iconic in game, it kind of feels like messing with Spider-Man’s colours.
p.s. I freely admit to not entirely thinking through how he would wear that helmet and a hood.
