AnarchangelParticipantI’m sure some hero would make that pun anyway while attempting witty banter

Anarchangel and Archangel. I think you guys could get along.
I get along with everyone
AnarchangelParticipantAms, mate, I don’t think I have adequate words to describe how much I love your work.
AnarchangelParticipantWelcome! I have to agree with JR, you’re not as bad as you think you are. I’ve been using Heromachine for years and when I first started, I was terrible. Stick with it though and you’ll improve.
AnarchangelParticipantHere’s the first guy I’ve created in a while.
…………………..
Detectives Emily Virgil and Tim Romero recently found themselves involved in a case where a number of meta-humans turned up dead. The only connections the victims to to have to one another were that they all had super powers and they all had a specific calling card left on their body. A black cross.
In the course of their investigation, Virgil and Romero discovered a group of religious extremists by the name of The Black Cross. The leader of this secretive group appeared to be the mysterious minister calling himself Savior. Savior and his followers in the Black Cross believed that meta-humans were an abomination and were the creations of the devil. Savior preached about how every last one of these super powered “freaks” needed to be wiped out. He stopped short of actually admitting to any of the murders however.
Eventually, Virgil and Romero tracked down the killers who had committed these crimes in the name of the Black Cross. They were ultimately unable to press charges against Savior himself though as they lacked any evidence that he had actually had anything to do with the murders. Savior is very careful to never get his own hands dirty. He instead hires a number of other individuals to do his work (or as he claims “the work of the lord”) for him. These people range from heavily trained ex military personnel all the way to average citizens who simply believe what Savior tells them.
What makes Savior even more deadly than most of the religious extremists of the world is the simple fact that he believes every last word of his own rhetoric. He’s not out to gain power or revenge. He genuinely believes that super powered individuals are evil and will go to great lengths to see them wiped out.
Savior is not only a true believer but is also remarkably charismatic and articulate. While the Black Cross is still a young organization with only a small number of members, there seems to be a growing number of people who support the group and some are concerned that it’s only a matter of time before Savior and his followers become a truly dangerous threat capable of taking on even the strongest of super humans.
“Brothers and sisters, hear me! Our world is dying. It has been poisoned by lies and deceit. We have been tricked into worshipping false idols. These blasphemers who believe themselves better than our lord have the audacity to call themselves ‘super humans’, as though they are better than you and I. They have the audacity to call themselves heroes when all I see is a world living in fear of men who can breath fire and end our lives with a flick of their wrists. They place themselves high above us and look down upon us mere mortals as though they are gods. But I am here today, brothers and sisters, to tell you that there is only one god! And these people are not his children! They are the work of Satan! Look around you, brothers and sisters. Look at the devastation wrought by these people in the name of ‘justice’. All I see is destruction. Homes and businesses ruined by yet another battle between these so called super men. They care not for the lives they ruin in their squabbles with one another. We are but ants beneath their feet. Brothers and sisters these people are not super humans. They are a disease. They are a cancer upon our fair world!…But fear not my friends. For we are the Black Cross…And we are the scalpel that shall remove this cancer and return our world to the paradise our lord intended it to be!” – Savior.
AnarchangelParticipantMan, I really need to get back into HM. I’ve been so busy lately with work and the little one. Not to mention Grand Theft Auto 5….I’m addicted.

Oh. My. Gosh.
You are amazing!!! I’m making a super hero thread, but it is nothing, NOTHING, compared to yours. You are inspiring! I really can’t believe how good you are.Thank you. I appreciate that. Although there are many great creators around here that are so much better than me.

Hey Anarch, how do you do the gloves with sentinel?
Use the same hand twice and some masking. Probably the crescent-shaped Insignia for the rounded effect.
Pretty much exactly that. I used two black hands then two skin coloured hands and masked the second set to some circle insignias.

I bet you could probably up the size of that second pair of wings a few points? Just try to match with the other pair.
That set of wings is only drawn as a single piece, and is not broken up into left side and right side pieces like many of the other wings. What he would need to do is use two of the full wings, one flipped around and mask them to something to get rid of half of each wing. Not difficult but masking can be annoying at times.
Yep. That’s exactly what I intended to do. And I will when I eventually get around to recreating Dragonfly. I’m just kinda put off right now as I lost the file a while back so I’ll have to start from scratch if I want to update him. I’ll get it fixed eventually though.

Don’t hate me for this, Anarchangel, but I just couldn’t help but notice Dragonfly’s wings on his left, our right, are smaller than the ones on his right.
I noticed that myself but you can blame Jeff for that. It’s just the angle he drew that set of wings at. I could probably have used a second set to fix it but…I didn’t.
*shrug*
Next time!
AnarchangelParticipantIs anyone else having trouble loading text files? Every time I try to load one that way it just loads … well, nothing.
AnarchangelParticipantIt seems like I have the most experience here so let me try and lay out what you need for a successful rp.
1. First you need to decide what type of game you want to play. Be it fantasy, sci-fi, superhero/villain, history, Star Wars or even real life. I’ve been a part of all of the above at one point and they all have their merits.
2. Decide if this game is going to have a solid plot. Because while winging it is certainly an option, and some of the best rp sessions I’ve played have had a sandbox feel to them, a lot of people tend to lose interest if there’s no real direction.
3. Make sure you have enough people involved. While you can definitely play a play-by-post game with just two people it’s just more fun with more. Judging from the amount of people posting here already, you shouldn’t have trouble with this.
4. Develop a certain set of rules for people to follow so there’s not mass chaos. These rules are mostly just guidelines so people know what they’re doing. No spamming/god-modding, no auto-hits etc. One other rule I’ve seen a lot of people employ is that posts must be a certain length. Usually about a paragraph. One sentence posts are just kinda boring.
5. Develop a character sheet for people to fill out. This is just so everyone knows a little about the other characters involved and what to expect. It doesn’t have to be anything too lengthy but should at least contain sections for name, age, special abilities and maybe a little about their history etc.
6. Elect a Game Master. Someone to run things and make sure things don’t go off the rails. This is usually the person who came up with the idea for the game in the first place but I’ve seen the role of GM deferred to others in the past. (I’m going to eliminate myself as a possibility for this role right now for the simple fact that I can’t be certain I’ll actually have the time to dedicate to it. If a game is set up I may join as a player but it’s much easier to work around a player not posting for some time than it is to work around the GM disappearing)
If you have these things then you should be fine. Now this is just from my own personal experience. I know other people have different ways of doing things but I just thought I’d try to help with what I know.

I love the mask you’ve given Forza Italia, that’s got to be one of the best I’ve seen.
Agreed. It’s kind of Ultron-esque.
