VampyristParticipantThanks and here is another character caught in the crossfire. Burst could manipulate energy, control it, alter it and amplify it, making him one of the most powerful mutants on the planet. He worked as a hero, but that changed when terrorists got hold of a nuclear bomb. Burst was sent to retrieve it along with other heroes and unfortunately, it detonated. Burst used all of his concentration and power to contain the blast, saving thousands, if not millions. This act of heroism had an adverse effect on him. Once the nuclear energies cleared, Burst crackled with energy, energy he could not control. Pure energy flew in every direction, causing pure chaos. BSH’s best scientists worked to make him a containment suit. A normal life now impossible, Outburst was born.
The warship’s beam ripped across the city, destroying blocks in seconds, killing anything in its path. Outburst was escorting people towards a portal when a beam crashed through the block next to them, heading straight towards them. The hero flew into the beam and he concentrated, holding the energy up, away from the ground. The energy ripped into him, through his suit, but the beam remained above the citizens. It eventually passed over them and they were saved, but once again, Outburst had been affected by this extreme use of his powers. He fell, his unconscious body hurtling towards the ground.
Houdini, a teleporting hero, was helping to rescue those caught behind the beam. He teleported to a relatively untouched area, a bubble of no damage, when he saw the man falling. The man, naked except for a few pieces of armor, was falling towards the ground, energy rippling off of his body. Houdini teleported and caught him, before teleporting him back to somewhere safe. He looked at this fallen man and recognized him. It was burst, human again. The effort of keeping the beam off of the innocents had reverted him back to his human self, just as saving lives had turned him into energy. Houdini dashed off again, finding Amalgam, bloody, but alive and saving others trapped in the rubble.

VampyristParticipantWhile the city was being destroyed and the battle raged on overhead, several strategies were in place to take down the ship. One part involved teleporting heroes and a few villains onto the warship to destroy or at least hinder its attack. One of these heroes sent up there is Alpha, who is currently fighting the aliens in a space suit.

VampyristParticipantThe alien’s attack plan is not just to destroy the major population centers from above, but also to attack the remnants of these metropolises with their own troops. Huge cylinders are shot from the ship and they crash into various major cities, aliens pouring out in droves to destroy and conquer, all being met with human response.

VampyristParticipantRichard Faraday was once the hero Dynamo, the electrical Ace. As he got older and had a family, he retired from heroics and went back to his pre-hero job of being a doctor, a great one too. He ended up working to save the lives of his former comrades at the Hero Hospital. His abilities allowed him to work as a living AED, in order to keep his patients alive. His hard work eventually led to his placement as the head of the hospital, where he worked alongside Eternity to ensure the best protection for heroes in the city. In the past year, he found out his abilities had a cost. In order to make his electricity, his body would energize a cell and then amplify and convert that energy to electricity. Now a cell here and there did no harm, but as time went along, the energization became more unstable. It wouldn’t stop when he stopped making charge, it would just energize more and more, leading to little shocks and pains. The past year, the energization became worse. The chain reactions became visibly larger, now the old doctor convulsing as the electricity arced off of him. He was too dangerous to stay in the hospital so he found a replacement and he left.
When the beam hit, the space battle raged on and the heroes boarded the ship, but they also had a land plan. There was a laser left over from an alien ship, a laser that might be able to pierce and destroy the space cruiser. The problem was that there was nothing powerful enough to power the cannon. That is where Faraday comes in. He knew he was dying and he knew that if he pushed his body, it would create a massive amount of energy, large enough to power the cannon and save the earth. So when the alien beam ravaged the city, Eternity and Faraday, along with his son, the new dynamo, were at the cannon. Richard told his son he loved him and then made him leave as he hooked himself up.
Energy jumped off of him in a massive scale and into the cannon. Eternity aimed the cannon, his friend’s screams weighing on his mind. And as one beam destroyed the city, another left it straight into the heart of the warship. It ripped across the ship, incinerating aliens and it stopped just short of bisecting it. Eternity looked over and saw only singed clothing where his friend once was, Faraday had given up his life to destroy the ship.
Alpha, who was on the ship, was thrown as the ship was impacted and he looked in horror as he began to fall onto the beam from below. He pressed his teleporter and he left the ship, though his arm got caught in the beam as he teleported away. He reappeared into the teleporter ship, safely out of the battle, his bloody and now unusable arm laying on the ground. He reached into his pocket and grabbed a detonator. While he had been on the ship, he and his allies had planted bombs and now they were to finish the job Faraday started. The dozen explosions finally split the warship in twain and caused the latter end to explode, irreperably damaging the front half. The surviving half jettisoned its remaining attack pods to the planet, before it too exploded.
On the planet, heroes and villains alike fought off the aliens leaving the attack pods. Many died, but the aliens were defeated. The ship had arrived and it had also been destroyed, humanity ready to live another day.

WeilynMemberThat was totally wicked!

VampyristParticipantThank you, that means a lot. The Faraday story is far from over. Here is Ben Faraday, Richard’s son and the new dynamo. When his dad retired, Ben took up his suit, as he had inherited his father’s powers and thankfully not his curse. As the new Dynamo, he has become the man his father wanted him to be, a strong hero who fights evil wherever it may turn up.

VampyristParticipantEnergy can neither be created nor destroyed. Richard Faraday was converted into electricity and then into a beam of plasma that ripped through an alien warship. The energies from this beam continued moving through space, scattered by the explosion. A portion of this energy soon passed through a cosmic cloud. This cloud reactivated something, it brought back Richard’s consciousness, leaving him a sentient electrical cloud.
Alive again, the hero made his way back home, entering various ships before coming close enough to earth. He raced down as a bolt of lightning and entered Eternity’s television. To Eternity’s surprise, his old friend who he thought dead, was now talking to him. He needed to help his friend so he put his technicians on making a body for Faraday. As he was now energy, Richard could occupy and control electronics, so controlling his new body was easy. He also had Eternity make him a second body, a more costumey body. This second body could be used to fight crime, as heroism was in his veins, even if now they ran voltage instead of blood.
Richard Faraday once fought crime as Dynamo, then he saved lives as a doctor, and he had saved the world at the cost of his body. Now he would once again do good as the hero Amp.

VampyristParticipantHere is Quinn Blaine, a mutant whose face was disfigured into a permanent grin by antimutant bigots. He currently is de facto leader of the Outcasts, a group of mutants who live on the fringes of society due to debilitating mutations (my version of the morlocks). His humorless manner is only broken during a fight where he cannot stop laughing. He uses his sound manipulation to create a cacophonous laughter, disorienting and terrifying his targets. This feature as well as his forced grin has led to his nickname of the Laughing Man.

VampyristParticipantAlpha, my main protagonist, lost his arm due to Cataclysm. When he got home, a new arm was fitted for him, one stronger, and more resilient than the last. Even though he now had a new arm, he was still affected by the loss of his flesh and blood hand. Alex became more cynical, more pessimistic. Even with this change in demeanor, Alpha still remained who he is at heart, a hero.

VampyristParticipantAfter Outburst had become human again, he didn’t know what to do with himself. He wasn’t Outburst any more, nor was he Burst. He was someone different, but he was still a hero. He decided that since he was human again, Burst was the most appropriate title, but he was going to be a new Burst, a better human and hero.

DiCicatrizParticipantGreat storytelling! I love the way the characters were kind of working together despite their separate storylines/settings. Cool stuff!

VampyristParticipant“I’ve been shot, stabbed, beaten, and electrocuted. I’ve felt more pain than humanly possible, I’ve felt my skull shatter and pierce my brain. I’ve bled for hours upon hours, drowning in my own blood. I’ve had every pore of my body cut open and I’ve fried on an electric chair. And all of this was before I turned 17. My name is Liam Roarke and my life has been one hell after another. My problems started when my dad got into a car accident. He was fine, a couple of broken bones and a little bit of blood loss, but he was going to come out of it okay. Being ten, I wanted to help any way I could, so I offered up my own blood. Once they confirmed me as a match, they said, alright, after all he would need more blood and why not indulge the poor kid. Then it happened. My blood began to flow with my dad’s blood and he screamed. His bones twisted and bent back into shape and his cuts began to disappear. In a matter of seconds, he was back to normal. My blood healed him. This event caught the attention of the Berton Institute, a research facility and school for rich kids toddler and up. They offered to take me in, to help me understand my new gift and find out more about it. My parents reluctantly agreed, as the offer came with a great school. The Institute wasn’t that bad, they taught me what I needed to learn, though they did take a lot of blood. It was boring, but it was normal. And then Danny Fogocci attacked the university, hoping to steal some valuable tech from the research lab. During the robbery, I got hurt and Danny saw my ability in action. He had found something worthwhile, me. He grabbed me and took me to his lair.
He, too, took copious amounts of my blood. I was to be his personal hospital. If he got shot, blood transfusion. Poisoned, blood transfusion. Stabbed, blood transfusion. Hell, if he got a cold, blood transfusion. He was using me, but he was not unkind. He treated me decently and gave me plenty to read. I couldn’t leave, but I wasn’t too unhappy.
His right hand man, Salvatore got greedy one morning and got Fogocci killed. Fogocci had kept me a secret, as I was valuable, but know Salvatore found out. Salvatore was not like Fogocci. He was a psychopath, a gun that fired in whatever direction you pointed it at. He did not want me for his hospital, he had darker ideas in store. Salvatore was always looking for new ways to cause pain, he got off on it and he now had someone who could survive anything.
He started with knives, his personal favorite. He pierced me every which way, with a myriad of blades. He cut me open and played with my insides, he watched as blood flowed from my slit throat, he aimed for the spine and watched me squirm, and he did much much more. I felt unheard of pain, pain that should’ve killed a man, but I never got that sweet, sweet end. Once he got bored with goring me, he started wailing with fists. Bones shattered and organs bled. I felt as my skull entered my brain, pain convulsing its way through me. After beating me senseless for a weak, electricity became his weapon of choice. He liked to see me shake as the current flowed through, singing everything. He once stated he loved the ways my eyes bulged out when the volts passed through my heart. If my body wasn’t smoking, he wasn’t happy. After lightning, came fire. He burned me alive, my skin melting off of me as fast as my body could heal it, pain became my life, every second of every day. I had no idea how long I was tortured, time just faded into pain.
The only thing that came out of that experience is that Salvatore had taught me what true pain was. Nothing could compare to that. Also now I knew how the body worked, what spots caused the most pain, which didn’t. Salvatore was about to start on acids, when I made my escape. Someone must’ve been attacking his base and I knew it was time. I broke my way out of my bonds and looked for the bastard. When I found him, I became a mad dog, a flurry of fists, nails, and teeth. He lay beneath my wrath, bloody and purple. I bit my hand and made my blood flow into him, he was not getting out of this that easily. Then I found his knife. I stabbed myself and then I slowly entered it into his flesh, his screams enacting my vengeance. As the blades came out, my blood sealed up the wounds. I don’t know how long my vengeance lasted, all I remember is some armed goons prying me off of him.And that’s how I got to my next owner, another crime boss. He then ran out of money, so he sold me to some research institute who tested my capabilities. They tested me at extremes with more fire and now ice, breaking off parts of me only for them to grow back. Infighting and more financial troubles saw me change hands more that a dozen times. Finally, I ended up in some villain’s lair, once again, a personal bloodbank. BSH rushed in to apprehend said villain and I was rescued.
I had been away from my parents for five years and I had changed too much. I couldn’t be with them, live a normal life. I had seen and felt too much. Thankfully, the Institute gave me an opportunity to both learn and to master my ability. Here with other mutants, I have finally found a home, a place where I can be happy.“

VampyristParticipantCary Roland has the gift of invention. Fully fledged ideas, blueprints of fantastic tech just appear in his head. He doesn’t know how these objects work and sometimes not even what they do. He used his gifts to make himself a name, and some money as well. His company Rolandtech soon became one of the most powerful due to his inventions military and in some cases commercial value. Cary became one of the richest men in America and in the world and this made him a target. His life has been targeted numerous times by assassins and this has led to him working very closely with BSH, as they were often the ones who tracked down these hitmen and often stopped their future attempts. BSH made sure these killers would not be the end of Cary Roland, but they could not have prevented the greatest danger to Roland, himself.
He had a new invention, a kind of portal array. He turned it on and portals appeared in the room. This might be his next best invention, portals would allow for quick travel and could save billions in transportation costs. As he reveled in his accomplishment, he did not notice the several portals begin to collapse. His device could only create one doorway and now he had ten, resulting in the portals becoming unstable. Suddenly, energy flew off of the portals, creating more portals around the room. Cary ran to the machine to stop it, but he got hit in the gut by one of the energy bursts. He crawled away as the room was swallowed by portals before collapsing in on itself, taking the machine with it.
Cary got checked out and it appeared the beam had no ill effects on him, a miracle. He went about his business for months before he got the stomach pains. His stomach burned and burned, but once again there was nothing medically wrong with him. When he checked himself in a mirror a week later, his stomach still in pain, he found out why his stomach burned. The beam that had hit him had created a small portal within him and it was growing. It was once the size of a pin and now it was the size of a button. It kept on growing and everything the young billionaire tried did nothing to alleviate the portal. It kept on growing and growing, becoming the size of his hand. This portal would kill him, it would rip through his body and leave two halves with a portal going nowhere in between.

VampyristParticipantThanks and here is Mako. Marco Reyes is the son of two cuban refugees, though he himself was born in the US. His love for swimming gave him his nickname Mako. He has superstrength, enhanced durability and the ability to breathe and manipulate water. He is one of Heliopolis’s (My Miami) main heroes and one of my universes premier aquatic heroes.
