amsParticipantGoing over your last couple of pages and you have some incredible characters! Keep it up. Cheers1

VampyristParticipantThanks AMS, you have some good ones too.
This is Ethan Torres. He is the half-human and half-alien son of the hero Strandon. Strandon is an alien who is stronger, faster, and more durable than us humans and when he crashed here, he decided to use these powers to protect his new home. He found a wife and had a son who looked human except for his blue hair, something he inherited from his father.
Ethan does not have his dad’s physiology though, but he is a bit above the average human. Mainly, he has his father’s intelligence. Strandon’s race are more advanced than humans and have higher brain capacity, meaning they are also smarter than humans. This alongside the alien tech he has examined over the years has made Ethan quite the expert on advanced technology. So much so, that he was able to convert the tech from his dad’s ship and with a little bit of ingenuity on his part, into a suit which can create a forcefield to shield him from certain attacks, grav-boots, gauntlets which use that forcefield technology to fire a concussive blast, although only in limited amounts, and a pistol which has vast varieties of shots ranging from concussive to electrical.
He uses these to first help his father and he uses them at the Institute, where he is learning how to be a better hero. He is perhaps one of the smartest students at the Institute and one of their better fighters. He has a natural capability to lead, something he got from his father, who unfortunately died in the Zalamin invasion.

MisterDinoManMemberI like the phase-effect on Cardenas and the spellfighter is a very solid design.

VampyristParticipantThanks guys and here is a random patriotic character.

VampyristParticipantThis is Jamie Cheng, a student at the Institute who can manipulate pheromones for varying effects. He is shy and while he could use his powers to be popular, he chooses not to, as he wants his friends to be real, his connections not due to varying pheromones.

MyroParticipantI have noticed one problem with Ethan Torres. The coloring on his pistol tends to match the coloring of his clothing that it seems to blend in. Just something to keep in mind.
Otherwise, a great group of characters so far.
July 5, 2012 at 1:02 pm #7188
Kaylin88100ParticipantYeah, I noticed that as well. It’s slightly confusing – or at least I was confused by it at first!
July 6, 2012 at 9:28 am #7206
VampyristParticipantYeah, I did notice that it did blend in a bit. I guess that is one of the problems with color coordinated tech. Thanks for the compliments, though.
This is Terry Hanover, a mutant who is omnilingual, he can speak any language after seeing or hearing it, including binary and body language as it is a part of nonverbal communication. He was once Translator of the Institute but now he is BSH’s liaison to the other powered nations, where his multilingual skills come in handy. His body language reading allows him to tell when someone is lying, a useful trick in the world of political gambits and besides being a good shot, he also can speak some magical tongues which helps him defend himself.

Kaylin88100ParticipantAnother camoflaged weapon?
July 6, 2012 at 10:12 am #7212
VampyristParticipantYep, silver on gray.
This is Calvin Webb, a teacher at the Institute who can make energy constructs. He teaches Physics.
July 6, 2012 at 1:39 pm #7214
TrekkieParticipantI’m now thinking that Calvin Webb would use his powers to demonstrate physics principles to his students.
July 6, 2012 at 2:08 pm #7216
VampyristParticipantYep, that is what I was thinking when I made him. I figured being able to show your students your teachings with 3d hard light diagrams would be a great tool.
This is Jack, a chaotic mercenary who can control an unstable and very potent energy. He was one of the villains who attacked the school and his energy orbs claimed the most lives. He just walked around the school blowing up anyone or anything he saw and it took a collective effort of many students to take him down. He was placed in jail, but he soon escaped.
July 6, 2012 at 3:43 pm #7227
Kaylin88100ParticipantFinally, some teachers! I hope there’s more than just that one, or I seriously pity poor Mr Webb.
July 6, 2012 at 6:31 pm #7240
VampyristParticipantTrust me, there are more teachers, Jesse does become one when he’s older.
Here is another student, Kayla Arden. She was born in South Africa and moved here after her dad got a job in the US. She emits electromagnetic pulses that disturb machines, causing static by her very presence. She can control electromagnetic radiation to control ferrous objects, create electromagnetic shields, and fire electrical blasts. She fights as Static.
