Haha, yeah, sorry. I’m horrible at explaining. Let me try putting it in steps. And just know, I’m not trying to be rude, I’m just trying to help out.

1. Place hand.

2. Place item wanted in hand (i.e. a gun) in layer over hand. This means, you can see it above the hand. And make sure this item is selected.

3. While item is selected, select “masking” tool from transform tab.

4. While masking is clicked, click on the hand, and mask the item to it.

This will make it look like the hand is holding the item. If you still don’t get it, don’t worry, it took me a while. I can post pictures if you want, too.
