MyroParticipantMoving on, I’ll be putting up the Hell Chix, a dysfunctional criminal group of vaguely demonic females. First up is their sort-of leader, War Demon.
War Demon is Olivia Kennison. She’s a weapons engineer that had recently gotten into trouble by sabotaging a power armor demonstration in retaliation against having her work stolen by a colleague. She had since stolen the only other prototype of the armor, and has made extensive modifications to it to turn it into the War Demon armor. Having changed her appearance somewhat, she is now employed under a false name by a competing tech company.
The armor itself can fly through boosters in the legs, and steering from the articulated wings on the back. It can shoot flames from jets near the mouth, and possesses a high-tech computer interface hacking tool.June 17, 2012 at 6:11 pm #6577
MyroParticipantI can’t believe I’m being lazy about what is essentially a gallery migration. Sure, it’s not very exciting, but it’s not very hard either.
Okay, so the next member of the Hell Chix is Yuki-Onna, which is a Japanese legend of a winter witch or spirit, that often leads unsuspecting men to their death when they are caught out in a snow storm.
Yuki-Onna was Jenny Takana, a Japanese-American environmental activist turned eco-terrorist. She got her powers during an industrial accident involving nuclear waste at a power plant she was demonstrating at. In addition to giving her power, the change also severely warped her mind. Believing that her destiny is to usher in a new ice age that will rid the world of lesser species, and cleanse it of humankind’s destructive ways, Yuki-Onna prefers to attack environmentally controversial targets. She can use her ice powers to create icy katana blades, an icy armor over her skin, and walls of ice, as well as blasts of cold. She can also fly.
The HM3 version is considered the final version of Yuki-Onna. Having resolved her leg issue with a gradient pattern on her right (our left) leg seems to give it enough depth, and the background is pretty evocative.

Kaylin88100ParticipantI like both versions of Yuki-Onna, but I have some reservations about War Demon. I think she doesn’t seem as human, because you can’t see her face or any human-coloured skin. If that’s your intention, fine, but if I was making a character like that I’d want to have at least part of her face visible, like her eyes or the bottom half of her face.

I’ve been meaning to do a redo on her, but War Demon’s a power armor-type like Iron Man, so I don’t know that she would have any exposed skin. Maybe her eyes.
Thanks for the input. Always appreciated.

MyroParticipantSeriously, I can’t believe how lazy I am with this gallery.
Salem would be the next one in my list of Hell Chix. She’s gone through a few different design iterations, and she may go through one or two more. However, given one of her powers, I’m usually quite comfortable in saying whatever picture I have of Salem at any given moment is the one she currently looks like.
Salem is Audette D’Alfino, originally from Laval, Quebec, although she moved to the States to pursue a career in acting. With her good looks and exotic background, she managed to get a career working in b-grade movies through her 20s, however as she reached her 30s, her prospects started to dwindle. At about the same time, the Olympian goddess, Eris, was having problems with her original foil for Fluke, who was Tyche’s original avatar. So she had acquired a set of armlets from Hades, and used them to both corrupt Audette, and bestow upon her magical powers. Audette has since moved back to Canada, where she still pursues an acting career, mostly as a stage magician. But her main income seems to come from armed robbery, usually of banks, and quite often with the help of at least one other of the Hell Chix. She has the ability to shoot bolts of magical energy, change her appearance, fly, and open locked or barred doors. She uses a number of props to keep opponents guessing about which of the items in her possession gives her powers.

MyroParticipantSeriously Myro? You’re going to get the reputation of being tardy. TARDY!
Okay, last member of the Hell Chix. This is Succubus. Succubus was originally London Vosburg (although most of her friends called her by her middle name, Julie). She was transformed into a faun (a female satyr) by Eris, the Olympian goddess of Discord, as a foil to Fluke, who was the avatar of Tyche. London was specifically chosen because of her history with Brian Hascovec.
The problem was that London had managed to slowly gain control of her faun form, and can change back and forth at will. She can also manage to control the aggression and avarice the form brings. This led Eris to give Salem powers, as a means to manipulate London into doing what she wants.
During her earlier periods, Succubus was known by the media at large as “Hellgirl” (a play off the the Mike Mignolia character “Hellboy.”) and was a known art thief. The only reason she’s in the Hell Chix now is due to Salem extorting her. And although she’s a faun, most people that see her as Succubus believe she’s a demon (London herself thinks she transforms into a demon as well).
Succubus can teleport into black clouds of ashy smoke, and is highly resistant to physical damage, and can quickly regenerate what damage she actually takes. He can exude pheremones from her skin while she’s flirtatious, causing most men to bend to her will. She is also resistant to Fluke’s mental powers.
And, as an additional bonus, I also did this one of Succubus for a contest a while back of her in mid-teleportation.

MyroParticipantAnd just because I’ve been so neglectful, I’m going to throw one more up.
I’m going to introduce Captain Sinchanter.Emile Sinclair Chantre was born in France in the mid 18th century, and upon reaching age, signed to join the French Navy. He was quickly stationed to a ship that made port in the French colony of New Orleans, where his ship was to patrol the area, and parts of the Spanish Main. However, the captain was a slave-driving martinet, and soon the crew had enough and declared mutiny.
Successful, the crew voted for a new captain, between the First Mate, one Henri Du Blont, and Chantre, who was the ship’s armorer. Du Blont narrowly won, and made Chantre his new first mate. The ship was rechristened Heart’s Black Dagger, and this arrangement lasted for several months, until they made a bid to overtake a Spanish gold galleon, and were nearly crippled by its escort. While Heart’s Black Dagger was aground undergoing repairs, Chantre sowed the seeds of mutiny among the crew again, and once asea, and affirmed the ship was in good shape, he usurped control from Du Blont, had him sealed in an empty rum keg, weighed down with cannon balls, and had it tossed into the ocean. Naming himself the new captain, Chantre rechristened the ship Hades’ Bloody Poison.
This arrangement lasted even shorter than Du Blont’s command. Chantre (or as he was now called, Sinchanter, a play on his middle and last names, “Sinclair Chantre”) was a ruthless and merciless captain that often executed his own men for perceived incompetence. By constantly flying a red flag, rather than a black and white one, Hades’ Bloody Poison declared that no mercy would be allowed to his victims, which often meant fierce battles for his men, another reason they wanted him gone. Soon, they had mutinied a third time, and disposed of Chantre the same way that he had disposed of Du Blont. As they were sealing the keg, Chantre declared that Lucifer himself would allow him his vengeance, but his men chained the barrel shut, and used the shaft of the mast ax he brought with him into battle to hold the chains tight.
As luck would have it, Chantre’s remains were discovered recently, and using records of the time, historians had managed to identify him. Recently he was the centerpiece of a museum tour devoted to the pirates of the Spanish Main, along with a replica of his ship. However, once the ax was placed with his remains, he came back to life, or rather to horrible undeath. And as vengence, Sinchanter managed to call forth the spirits of his former crew to serve him far more loyally than they did in life. With a magic incantation, he christened the replica pirate ship as his new Hades’ Bloody Poison and set off for the skies, ready to pirate again in the modern age.August 4, 2012 at 4:42 pm #8585

MyroParticipantSoooo….haven’t posted here in forever, and I’m not posting art right now. There’s a reason.
I’ve been having the worst computer problems lately. My laptop would honestly take upwards of 30 minutes to boot up, if it even managed to do so without freezing up. The result is that I’ve reinstalled Windows on my computer and lost everything off it.
Now, I didn’t permanently lose everything. Luckily, I’m one of those people who backs up their data regularly, so I still have all my stuff on another hard drive.
Needless to say though, while I haven’t been posting here all that often, there was a reason for it, and it will be a while before I can catch up while I get my computer up to date.
Also, I’ll be honest: Assassin’s Creed III is absorbing so much of my time lately.

MyroParticipantThanks JR.
prswirve, I actually finished it back in January (I remember this because I went on vacation and decided not to bring it with me; the only reason I would do that is because I must have finished it). Been systematically playing “The Tyranny of King Washington” when the new DLC episodes release.
Mostly, I’ve been sticking to writing. And curse all you Whovians for getting me addicted, I’ve been watching an insane amount of Doctor Who.
