Ok, I skipped a number or two somewhere. Moving on. The challenge this time was to design cards such as playing or tarot or card-themed characters.

Here are two versions of my “Goblin King.” I prefer the inverse color scheme.

And since that was such a cheap gag, here’s another entry. Dominoes are tiles not cards. Still, it is a parlor game. I love playing dominoes. Particularly the classic (now politically incorrect) Mexican Train with double-six high.

I knew that I skipped a number. Continuing with the Zodiac: Leo. I went with an obvious reference. Most historians say that he was born on September 13th, which makes him a Virgo. My straight-forward depiction of “The Absent King,” Richard CÅ“ur de Lion.

Character Contest 70 – Leo

The first version of this character sports the colors of a famous blue Boy Scout. It just didn’t say “anthropomorphic meta-lion rushing to save the Masai Mara” to me. So I re-did his color scheme with the green, red, and black of the national flag of Kenya.

Also, I posted the text for the brushfire in Natural Backgrounds (Landscapes, Forests, Mountains, etc.).

A tribute to a favorite show. Too bad Laura Prepon went from red to blonde. When I talk about Laura Prepon, I’m like Lola on Looney Tunes. Yeah, wrap your brain around that. And cool that Tommy Chong was cast on a show that was originally titled “Teenage Wasteland.”
