Just keep at it. Shading/highlighting really was beyond me for a while. I’m getting the hang of it now. Thanks to inspiration from AMS, I’m starting to also shade/highlight more faces as well. As for posing, I started going with what I saw in my head, or sometimes I would pose myself and look in the mirror. It’s good to just have reference pics to work from. Nug, I’m really digging your work, and the ‘Kilroy was here’ signoff!

“Just keep at it.” That’s the best advice I think anyone can give. AMS is the shiznit for learning some shading. I first seen it done by Scatman, and didn’t discover AMS’s skills until later on. I like your idea about the mirror, but I’m disabled and couldn’t possibly move some of the ways I pose characters. True story though… the silhouette in the “Ace of Hearts” was inspired by my wife and myself. Thank you for your comment WMD! I hope others get something from it as well.

“Hardship”… No doubt! You’ve been wondering why I haven’t posted anything in a month or so… I took a few minutes here, a few minutes there. A month later here is what you get. I got tired of it to be honest. It’s perspective and limb positioning was hella complicated with HM3; so much to a point I got burnt out on tinkering with it. On to something different!
