Mr. VaudevilleParticipantThe Botanist
Christian Grant was a respectable, mild-mannered botanist and pharmaceutical chemist who dedicated his life to the idea that communication between humans and plants would one day be possible. Experimentation with various chemical compounds and pheromones led to an explosive laboratory accident that resulted in the young man gaining superpowers, and going insane in the process.
Now the mad scientist and supervillain known as ‘the Botanist’, he has the ability to animate, manipulate, control, and communicate with plant life, as well as a total immunity to most poisons. Those powers combined with an above average intellect make him a dangerous criminal.

Mr. VaudevilleParticipantThe Huntress
Born in South Africa, Savannah Westenberg was raised to be a big-game Hunter by her father – a poacher and black market ivory trader. Deadly with a rifle by the time she was fifteen, and highly skilled with a hunting knife, she grew up to be one of the most dangerous women alive. In her late teens, mutant abilities began to manifest in the form of a modest healing factor and animal-like enhanced senses of sight, smell, and hearing,
Featuring on most wanted lists the world over, she is a fearsome assassin, hunter, and tracker for hire for criminal organisations everywhere.

Mr. VaudevilleParticipantThe Silver Surge
A complete redesign of an older hero, the ‘Silver Thorn’, real name Ted Winters, with a brand new set of powers. I’m not entirely sure about his origin story yet, so I’ll edit this post as necessary.
The original character was a stuntman who had a brutal accident, triggering the mutant or superhuman ability to adopt a spectral form and phase through solid objects. He also had the power of flight. Though he can still fly, the ‘Silver Surge’ now has the ability to manipulate electricity instead of the spectral form/quantum tunnelling.
Looking at him, I’m getting serious Space-Police or Time-Cop vibes, and thinking he gets his powers from a very advanced ‘Tesla suit’ or something of that nature.

AnarchangelParticipantI love the expression on the Botanist’s face.

Mr. VaudevilleParticipantMajor Jack McNamara
United States military. You’ve never heard of his division.
The head of an above-top-secret department charged with the investigation of paranormal, extraterrestrial, and interdimensional phenomena, Major Jack McNamara does not officially exist. Whenever eldritch forces beyond human understanding threaten our reality, it’s his job to unite the worlds best heroes and steer them on right course to save the fabric of time and space. A man of direct action and carefully chosen words, he arrives only when he’s needed, always seems to know more than he should, and is willing to do whatever it takes to preserve the greater good.
To aid in his mission, he recruited the most elite heroes on earth to form a unified global response team: the Terran Defence Corps.
Although it seems at first glance like he has no superpowers of his own, McNamara possesses a kind of ‘multidimensional awareness’. Every alternate universe Jack McNamara in the multiverse shares a single consciousness – meaning that he is aware of events happening in all realities simultaneously, and he has access to the shared knowledge and experience of infinite versions of himself. Because this is never openly revealed, those around him are always mystified when he seemingly predicts threats to the universe before they appear, ‘senses’ disturbances in the fabric of reality, and always manages to arrive at the crucial moment.
(Notes: I used the generic male fantasy warrior as the base for this, partly because I was feeling lazy and partly because I haven’t used Heromachine in months and months. I’m using a laptop now, so I can export the images for better quality. The character concept is based quite heavily on a character from a musical. To anyone reading this around the time of writing: Stay safe!)

VampyristParticipantI really like the concept behind McNamara. Also I am vaguely curious what musical would have a concept like that?

Hey! Thanks for the comment.
He is a character (with the same last name and everything, I’ve totally ripped him off) from the musicals ‘The Guy Who Didn’t Like Musicals’ and ‘Black Friday’. They are the first two parts of a trilogy of horror/comedy musicals, and are both free to watch in full on YouTube.
The production company, Team StarKid, have done about 12 full comedy musicals, all available to watch for free online, including parodies of Disney, Harry Potter, Batman, Star Wars, and more. Hilarious and probably not suitable for children. I’m a professional singer/dancer/actor/musician, so it’s very much my sort of thing. I highly recommend checking them out if you’re interested.

Mr. VaudevilleParticipantKali
Murdered in cold blood, this young Indian-American woman was resurrected as the living avatar of Kali – the motherly Hindu goddess of death, time, and doomsday – to take revenge on her attackers. After rescuing some children along the way, the goddess allowed the woman, one Alisha Mittal, to permanently retain a fraction of her divine power in order to continue fighting crime in her name.
Kali is a street-level hero with indestructible skin, a healing factor, supernaturally gifted swordsmanship, self-resurrection, and the abilities to induce fear and absorb life energy by touch.
My favourite thing about this design is that she’s wearing pink socks.
