CDC- Shade It

The demoness Threlx. Created by the Dark Ones by combining their own essences with that of mortal creatures, they were abandoned by their gods when the last war was lost to the Light. Since then, they have built their city and way of life far from others in the caverns of a mountain and the surrounding area, alone. Where once feral, they became a deeply introspective culture with unique styles of art, writing, and a close devotion to family.  When the Dark Ones rose again, the demons allied with them out of obligation before learning the truth. The Dark Ones cared nothing for their children, and sought to return them to their bestial nature for their own ends. Upon learning this, the demons devised a dangerous plan: appeal to the Warriors with this knowledge and withdraw from the war, turning their attention to protecting their people and home. Threlx, a noble and eloquent Mother (leader) volunteered herself, knowing the fate of her people and all they had built rested upon her.

CDC- Fairy Tales

I did a superhero redesign of Snow White and Rose Red. According to the article (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snow-White_and_Rose-Red), Snow White was quiet and shy and Rose Red was lively and outgoing. So in their superhero guises, ‘Snow’ is a moral, by-the-books cryomancer, and ‘Red’ is a tough, rowdy pyromancer. It’s like a buddy cop movie, but with superhero Fairy Tale sisters.

CDC- Musical

Rather than do another version of my music-inspired hero, The Sentinel, I created a new hero for that universe named Subsonic.  Long bio ahead:

James Flynn was a regular guy who liked skateboarding and extreme sports. One night while ripping through what he thought was an abandoned warehouse, he was captured by agents of the organization known as F.E.A.R (Facility for Exohuman Advanced Research). Their goal was to create a counter-measure to the heroine The Sentinel, and Flynn found himself ‘volunteered’. After six months of experiments and tinkering with his genetic code, Flynn was able to escape using his new powers. He had been turned into what amounted to a human tuning fork. Contact with his body produces a musical note, and because he was designed as a weapon, the vibrations from the sound is released mainly through his limbs. A casual brush would produce a small chime, while a loud clap or stomp creates a thunderous bass and devastating shockwave.

He found freedom difficult. Unsure of how to control his powers, he caused several incidents and a great deal of damage, which brought him onto The Sentinel’s radar. She found him eventually, huddled in an alley, too afraid to move for fear of causing more damage or injury. She took him in and helped him learn his powers, putting him also in contact with her friend Dr. Amelia Elliott, who helped him create a suit that would allow him to function in the world again. The suit is insulated with an advanced set of electomagnets that help to contain his powers, as well as retractable gloves and face shield. He began to accompany Lita in crime fighting as The Sentinel’s companion, determined to get revenge for what F.E.A.R did, and how it made everyone think he was dead. The only downside? The nicknames. There was Bass Master, All About the Bass, the Ace of Bass, and of course (and Lita’s favorite), Dubstep. But they make a formidable team; James’ thundering beats complementing Lita’s sonic screams.

Marian Michaels was a soldier gravely wounded in combat. She was brought to a special hospital in Chicago, where she underwent extensive reconstructive surgery; her body augmented with cybernetics. Her new components gave her enhanced strength and durability, and a limited sense of telepathy. Once restored, she worked closely with the doctor who had ‘rebuilt’ her (Dr. Genevieve Watson) to add other augments that would aid her new purpose: fighting crime. Powerful strobe lights were installed in her limbs and eyes that could blind an enemy, further focused and reflected by a pair of superlight metallic wings that folded into her arms and torso. Also added to her back was a new, prototype jetpack that, along with her wings, allowed her to fly. As a cover, Marian now performs as a cabaret singer in The Garden of Eden club, where she keeps her ears open for gossip and tips that can help her cause.

Thanks also! Unleash the Archers is a band I’ve been listening to a lot of, and I always love it when I can get a great visual from a song.

CDC- Team-Up

The Senses- Inhabiting the same cynical universe as Aubergine and Cerulean, this team is a long-standing and well-respected one within the hero and mundane communities. All members are well trained in both weapon and hand-to-hand fighting in addition to their powers and have vast experience in crimefighting. They are:

Auditory- Mike Daniels has super hearing. He can pick up conversations from halfway across a city and can identify passwords by hearing keys being typed. He wears a special headset to make his powers easier to bear and more effective.

Scent- Janna Westling can track anything. Her heightened nose is unmatched, and she has further augmented this with training to read trails and signs left behind by people and animals. She can smell changes in a person’s body chemistry, for example, when someone is lying.

Flavor- Mandy Gates has an iron stomach, able to consume anything. She also has a long, semi-prehensile tongue which is highly sensitive to different tastes can detect everything from what you had in your coffee that morning, to gunpowder residue on your hands.

Tactile- Finley Marceau is superstrong. She is the tank of the group, also possessing a near-invulnerability to damage.

Sight- Jacob Sims has both heightened sight and the ability to see in different wavelengths inaccessible to most humans, though his eyes appear milky-white as if he were blind. He is also pinpoint accurate with most ranged weapons.
