HammerknightParticipantHK is fine with me, everyone else calls me that.
December 29, 2013 at 4:18 pm #35404
mattisagamerParticipantHaha, yeah saw that around the forums so I assumed I’d call ya that.
So I’m still working on the group name and their powers, but I had time to create another character in the mix. His name is Forest Maelstrom in the latest addition to the group. I’ve decided that I’d create a subgroup within the group, of which I want to include Cyan Gale and Forest Maelstrom (I want to call this group The Elementals, but it felt too cliche for me). They represent two of the four main elements (Water and Wind) as I plan to do a Fire and Earth one as well. They would be the leaders of two of the other heroes, so they would be in squadrons. For now, I am still working on all of their stories, so bare with me! Thanks!

AnarchangelParticipantHe’s rather menacing. I like him though. Very cool.
December 29, 2013 at 7:04 pm #35415
mattisagamerParticipantThank you again Anarch! If I may call you that haha. I wanted to create a sort of menacing character, but at the same time is still a hero. Sort of rigid and tough you can say. That actually gives me a good idea for my story! Thanks again Anarch.

AnarchangelParticipantYou’re welcome. And yes, you can call me Anarch. Everyone else does anyway

mattisagamerParticipantFigured that be the route to go. xD It’s nice to have an awesome community that can give great feedback and advice. It’s a great way to express imagination and creations with other people with the same interests!
I just thought I’d leave this number here just to include in my portfolio of art. The Angels of Vindication. I entered it in one of the contests hosted on here and it isn’t my best, but I hope to integrate it into my story arc of the Elementals! Any feedback and criticism is always appreciated!

mattisagamerParticipantBoy, masking with rectangles is a- Well, it’s tough work. I experimented with it today and used one of prswivre’s poses to get started:
With this, I added my own masking and ended up with something like this as a final product. Her name is Lily Matthews and she is one tough cowgirl you don’t want to mess with. I didn’t want to include her in my group of the Elementals, but I wanted to still incorporate her somehow (still working out all the stories. Maybe I should slow down with the character creating for a bit). I had a difficult time making her as I faulted twice when creating her. When I tried to load the save, all the rectangle masking was gone and I was a bit flustered. I remasked everything again and this is the best I could do with the degree of difficulty. I am still new to this haha. Been here for only a week! As always, feedback and criticism is always appreciated! Thanks!

Herr DParticipantYou’ve made a very leggy ‘legume.’ Nice work. It may be time for you to start finer experimentation with color, so that the next iteration of Lilly, if any, has outlines that are closer to flesh color. The only thing this one could use specifically is better ‘consistency’ at the edges of skin. At the border of inner left thigh and boot, for example, a matching edge division could be made out of many things: squished insignia or even hair items with all three colors set to your edge color. Working with items squished, upside-down, or shrunken to only a few percent is a great way to experiment with making edge lines, wrinkles, etc. At this rate, you’ll be a master in a month or two.

mattisagamerParticipantThanks Herr! Yeah, the line consistencies where a bit of a problem. I was trying to work on it until I had those mess ups and I began to be frustrated haha. I kind of gave up on it for a bit and finished it with the above product. I’ll most likely tackle it some day, but I’m starting school again as I won’t have as much time as I’ve had on HM, so maybe not within a month or two. xD Thanks for the tip!

mattisagamerParticipantThis is an entry I did I’d like to add to my portfolio from HK’s Knighthood Challenge. Enjoy and as always, feedback and criticism is always appreciated!
And to start the year, with new sights and cheer! I bring this thread, back from the dead!
Ignore that rhyme.
Anyway, I saw this thread while browsing through the Contests and Challenges and I decided to start the new year with this challenge so… Here I go! And Happy New Years!

mattisagamerParticipantWelp, like I said to Herr I would be away for quite some time because of school (Damn!) Anyway, Here is my latest creation, Bronze Megathrust, another leader of the Elements along with Cyan Gale and Forest Maelstrom. Representing Earth, he’s a force to be reckon with his double shields that can cause Earth to rise form the ground in a single strike. Still working on all the character’s stories and backgrounds, so I think I might do that for a week and not do any characters in my free time. As always, feedback and criticism is always appreciated! Thanks!

mattisagamerParticipantI have little to no time to be on HM sadly. >.< School's a bit of a bothersome, but I'm trying my best to create a character at least once a week. I need to get my creativity out somewhere and share it! Below is my latest creation. Her name is Sonic Violet, and with her quick feet and martial artist mastery, she is quite the woman of every man's nightmare. I found this awesome pose by AMS as I changed around the parts to make them female rather than male. I plan to spend the rest of the day going back to my old characters and add on biographies, stats, powers, etc. to them. As always, feedback and criticism is always appreciated! Thanks! (P.S. I honestly had no idea what to do with the shadow... Any tips?) Sonic Violet

RobMParticipantI usually use a body piece (or combination of body pieces) with all colors including the line color the same shade of say 70% gray then move the alphas down to about 60-70%. Then it’s a matter of tweaking the size ratio and positioning. Hope this helps.
January 11, 2014 at 11:56 am #36031
mattisagamerParticipantThanks for the tip Rob! I never thought about using the alpha to create a better shading. Great idea!

Hello again everybody! I’ve spent a couple hours of my time developing another Superheroine (Still working on Cyan Gale’s story). This one is a bit more basic as I didn’t spend time highlighting it yet, but it’s a work in progress! If you all can give any sort of feedback, that’d be awesome. Thanks!

To add on to the Foxtress, I’ve created her counterpart, partner and lover, Dynafox! Has a nice ring to the name. With dual Disks of Lightning, he can produce waves of lightning that slice through his enemies, along with his fox Elegance. I might create an HM creation of them together, but that’s another day for another piece of work. As always, feedback and criticism is always appreciated! Thanks!
