@Herr D- That made me laugh and I can totally visualise it, but I highly doubt I could put down the picture I have in my head on Heromachine.

Anyway, I need to ask y’all for advise again on yet another duo shot of Lili and Danni that I’m working on whilst I try to figure out what I’m gonna do for Danni’s solo pic. As with The Kiss, I’m mostly happy with their poses, it’s just the peripheries. For reference, it’s a birds eye view shot, the bits that are greyed out are the room walls and on the final piece there will be a window on the side wall letting light into the room (and obviously there will be shading). But at the moment I need help filling it out, because I can’t do the carpet the way I did it in the last picture because the perspective is screwed up and I think the pic looks a bit empty as it is.

Also if you want to make suggestions for improvements on the characters in the pic, go ahead. All input is highly welcome.
Also, I may end up making the pic a widescreen showing the whole room, so that would include stuff like wardrobes and a computer desk, maybe a vanity (that’ll be fun to design *said unenthusiastically*). So if y’all want to suggest other random clutter that I can include, that would help.

Tips of shoes from under the bed. (Laces from corsets in Tops) Books, clothes on the floor. (A Hair item all one color right over the same item 3% larger with 3 colors.) Are you going for the look of “New Sensation” by INXS –” . . . and the sun comes/like a god/into our room.” ?

Lili looks a bit stiff, like she isn’t really relaxed. The facial expression is very well made, but her hands, arms and leg look like kinda rigid and tense.

I do think the picture looks really good, and I’m loving the birds eye perspective. It’s always fascinating to see a Machiner place the same characters in several different settings and contexts, so your latest work has been really remarkable.

@Herr D- Not sure about how exactly the hair/ clothes thing is meant to work. I like the idea of a pet looking at them, that could be feasible, if hugely fiddly. I had to look up the song you referenced, I’m not all that up on INXS tbh.
@Stulte- I know, it’s annoying that I can’t find a way to make her look more relaxed. I may have to do major tinkering to get that to work. The main thing I think I’d need to change is the left hand, that looks the most awkward. Thanks for the complements also, I do try.

Anyway, whilst I’m working on the Morning pic, have something I threw together in about half an hour. I got a little flash of inspiration and managed to get a sunset picture with two figures watching the scenery. No prizes for guessing the two characters in the pic though, even if they are in silhouette.

Just a quick note, if anyone else want to have a go at doing Lili and Danni, I’d love to see it. I love seeing other peoples interpretations of my characters, it really helps with the inspiration (just go back to the earlier pages of this thread, back when I used to have a redesign contest in the Art Contests And Challenges section).

That sunset is beautiful, I don’t know how you do it, but your color choices are always on point. The colors of the sunset reflecting in the pond is really stunning and your silhouettes are wonderful.

@Jeimuzu- I have now idea how I do it either. I’m guessing anal attention to detail and perfectionism, plus spending a lot of time studying other art (both heromachine and non), might have something to do with it.
@Nug- Nice one dude. I don’t think I will be editing it though, for the sole reason that it’s YOUR work. I asked for your take on the character, not your take with me coming along after the fact and fiddling with it. I think it looks good enough as is, don’t you.

Mmm… possibly. I was hoping you would come along shade, add lighting, and change colors to the look you have in your head. (Danni spent most of this project with a purple shirt.) Lili I think was done perfectly, and i found myself using her solo pic as a reference numerous times. Ultimately I seen the piece with the finishing touches i believe only you could give. Do with it as you wish, man… it’s what i intended for you to do anyways. I may post it on my topic though if you don’t mind.

P.S. You know me JR… If it was TOTALLY my take on the characters, then it would have been both of them in bed curled up to a mack up of me.

Also, considering this weeks contest was ever so slightly influenced by my current creative process, I thought it would make sense to show what I would have entered if I would have been able. I can’t enter my own contests because I’m the one judging them and I can’t well put one of my own creations in the poll, no matter how good or not it may be, because it’s gonna look like cheating. And I’d much rather judge the contests than enter them because I like seeing other peoples work and I don’t like skipping between themes each week. I fI start a theme I like to run with it for as long as I feel I can.
