My entry for the current Character Design Contest: Valiant

I can’t for the life of me figure out which pose looks best, not sure if I can enter 2 versions of the same character in the contest. Perhaps some opinions could help me out.

Bottom one. One thing for me though is the left bicep. It does not look “natural” to me. Try this….

This contest was really inspiring to me, I got really inspired by the idea of making a flying superhero with a classic comic book style. Classic style can be fun to work with, to me it’s all about simple but effective designs. I hope I accomplished that with Valiant. I know you didn’t have to make the heroes in the Golden age style, but that’s just what caught my inspiration.

Hey, it has been a bit of a long HM hiatus for me due to issues with my computer and other such annoying things. It feels good to be back though, figured I’d start posting some things I’ve been working on while I’ve been gone.

This character is Master Benibara. He was made as a counterpart to an older character of mine named Sakura Master. Master Benibara is the master of the rose, you don’t want to tussle with this guy. If every rose has its thorn, just imagine how many thorns he’s got.
